One headlight

Ed, think Nietzsche....

"(Friedrich) Nietzsche sees the slave-morality as a source of the nihilism that has overtaken Europe. In Nietzsche's eyes, modern Europe, and its Christianity, exists in a hypocritical state due to a tension between master and slave morality, both values contradictorily determining, to varying degrees, the values of most Europeans (who are "motley").

Nietzsche calls for exceptional people to no longer be ashamed of their uniqueness in the face of a supposed morality-for-all, which Nietzsche deems to be harmful to the flourishing of exceptional people. However, Nietzsche cautions that morality, per se, is not bad; it is good for the masses, and should be left to them. Exceptional people, on the other hand, should follow their own "inner law."

A favorite motto of Nietzsche, taken from Pindar, reads: "Become what you are" (cf. to Kierkegaard's assertion, in Vol. 2 of Either/or, that in aesthetics you become what you become, whereas in ethics you are what you are)."

... whom eventually suffered manic insanity and died a demeaning death.

Bad girl

The Cold War between The Gulag (new name, same person) and I have re-emerged again. This time round, I saw it coming and I am much more prepared. I wasnt angry when it erupted maybe deep down I knew I had a part to play too.

So, this is it then.
Pre-liberation, is that you?

I am a leader. If you dont let me lead, I'll withdraw and wither away. Right now, I have entered the third stage - wither. Think it's time.

Poprocks and coke

The sister in law is estimated to give birth this end of the year. The point here is...the brother (maybe financially or whatsoever) cannot go to the Green Day concert. He wanted to catch NUFAN and MXPX in KL also but I think he is just cancelling everything out.

But...but we grew up with Green Day!
It's almost like watching Mat Yoyo!

Maybe I should get him the Green Day ticket...as a congratulatory (fatherhood) token and an extremely early birthday present. Crap. I think I have to start digging holes for money. You see, my intention is here but financially, I am not. I think I'll figure a way out. But one thing's for sure...I cannot afford to get one for the sister-in-law.

Forget green grass, I think I'll have to eat green toxic air soon.

###

Touch my body

By the way, did I tell you that I am one of the judges for TooMuchCrap's Got Talent?

Hahahahahahahahahah*cough*hahahha!

The first audition was on Monday and we had one Korean boy who sang Sisqo's Incomplete. I wanted to hold my laughter and pee so much because he reminded me of the guy who sang 'Tuts My Barreh'.

One more round today and I must remember to empty my bladder (hell, bowels too maybe) before I sit in.

###

Bulletproof

In my weak attempt to save money for Mio TV, HK, Hari Raya Haji, other people's weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, celebratory occasions (no malice intended seriously), Green Day concert, 30th birthday and other things which havent cropped up (yet), I am cutting back on buying food and is resorting to bringing food found in the house to work.

The sad thing is, the house is full of nonsensical food. So, I am just stuffing my face with cookies, chocolates and swiss roll...hoping they can fully satisfy. Fatter..fattest, man!

Alas, the chocolate doesnt satisfy what a simple bowl of noodle from Sakura downstairs can.

Alaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!

P/S: I love chocs and all...but man, a person can only consume so much before she gets 'jelak', sick or diabetes.

###

Get me bodied

There's a Wing Tai sale happening at its outlets today and I did plan to go. However, now that Green Day are coming for a concert, I think I have to curb the shopping.

Okay.

That's all the strength I can muster now. I've been tired.

###

Anyone else but you

Am still reeling with the Green Day euphoria and anxiety. I thought that it's already the 15th and was scouring the SISTIC website for ticketing details, to no avail of course. Haiyah.

Anyway...

Went to catch PAPER HEART just now and I abso-effing-lutely love it. Charlyne Yi may seem dimwitted or retarded or very high at times but I find that endearing sometimes. Her awkwardness really strikes a chord and I can really relate with her...retardation and all.

I am just glad there's no love scene between Michael Cera and Charlyne (they were once rumoured to be dating). I could have broken in tears probably hahahahahahaha. Dammit. I have a crush oh Michael Cera...who is 8 years younger than me!

Coming home now

Though I was never a fan of Stephen Gately during my Boyzone-loving days (it's Ronan for me), it is still sad to have someone dying at a young age.

Gately was found dead today in Spain and well..another one this year.

In his honour, let's go down the memory lane and I'll share with you my Top 3 Boyzone favourite hits. These songs, some time back then, were very much loved by yours truly :)

1. All That I Need (..oh good times)

2. I Love The Way You Love (sweeeeet :) )

3. Key To My Life

May God bless you, Stephen Gately.

Halo walking on sunshine

Got some stuff to voice out but it will take too much energy. Besides, being the poorest shooter in yesterday's 0.38 shooting competition depresses the shit out of me. Maybe things will pick up soon.

In the mean time, enjoy the following from GLEE. Think I will pick up this show soon.

But right now, it's time to anatomise.

Good week ahead, ya'll.

P/S: (500) Days of Summer was quite a letdown. Yes, I was tired but I am sure the film did intensify my yawning. But no..it's not as bad as Lemony Snickett. But bad, nevertheless.

Men who marry clever women live longer
Men who marry clever women are more likely to live longer, according to a study.

Published: 1:26PM BST 05 Oct 2009

A study on 1.5 million people found a woman's level of education was more important than a man's when it came to the chance of him living a long life.

The authors suggested that better educated women may be more aware of healthy diets and medical treatments, thereby influencing their partner's lifespan.

''Women traditionally take more responsibility for the home than men do, and, as a consequence, women's education might be more important for the family lifestyle - for example, in terms of food habits - than men's education.

''If highly educated women more easily understand the plethora of advice about healthy lifestyles, women's education could have a substantial influence on the health and mortality of the partner.

"Women with higher education may in addition (be able to) receive better medical treatment, which may also be true for men - and for partners of highly educated women."

The research, from experts at Stockholm University, examined data from the 1990 Swedish Census on 1.5 million people aged 30 to 59 who were in employment.

Information on causes of death, including from cancer and circulatory diseases like heart disease and stroke, was then examined for the following 13-year period.

The study, published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, found that while women's education was an important factor in the longevity of a couple, it was the man's income, and not education, that was important.

The authours found that a man's income influenced death rates for both sexes "presumably since men stand for the major part of the family income and thus the material standard of the family." (The Telegraph UK)

Still, I doubt many men would want to live long anyway.

Right?

Long distance love affair

My phone is sick and is at the service centre. I dont know when I will get it back. Even when it is fine, the service staff will have no way of calling me because I dont have a spare phone. Right now I am regretting sending my phone to the centre. My warranty has ended and (1) I had to pay $25 servicing fee and (2) I have to pay around $80-100 for the repair. Like I said, I am regretting my act because my phone could do everything except retrieve missed calls. Oh, the home screen icons have gone missing and stuff. But I could still make calls, receive 'live' calls, send/receive messages, go online, take pics and vids and play music.

Crap.

Stupid.

Stupid.

Stupid.

Desolation row

Bleurgh.

Chocolate truffles are all gone and all I have now is an empty box and a horrible feeling in my throat and stomach.

Look like shit
Taste like heaven
Feel like crap
Where is the happy-feel-good chemical?

Freak on a leash

Am on a bloody full shift today (0900 - 2200hrs), thanks to the assholic minds of some people. Best thing is, my class is only at night. Am wasting energy and money...spending on breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Went to Vivo during lunchtime to exchange a dress I bought on Monday. Stopped at Candy Empire to get something for Ruth for it's her 27th birthday today. Got a small box of choc truffles for lunch+tea time also. Am eating them now. They look like shit but they taste so good. Moral of the story: Don't judge shit before tasting it, okay?

Before shit hits the fan. taste it first.

I can sing a rainbow

Last one before I try to catch a 3-hr nap.

Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow too

Listen with your eyes
Listen with your ears
And sing everything you see

I can sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow
Sing along with me
(Delta Goodrem)

A thousand times goodnight, sweet dreamers.

P/S: I think it's time to go back.

Mad / Miss Independent

I am back from Batam and well..it's already 0345hrs and obviously I am still up. Think I slept too much there. But it's all good. I wish I can extend one more day and sleep again though. Or maybe take a dip in the gorgeous pool.

On a side note, no can make you mad unless you allow it to be.

Maybe, I am not an angry person anymore.

P/S: My mobile phone has gone crazy eversince it went flat on Wednesday. I cant retrieve all the 'missed' calls and worse, my Batam pictures got deleted. Sad.

Welcome to paradise

I am nursing a major major earth-shattering headache :(

Last Thursday night, JLo, A-Go-Go and I went singing and it turned out more like an aerobics session because we mostly ended up dancing or jumping up and down screaming like banshees. I got home around 2300hrs, caught America's Next Top Model and then I concussed till Friday noon, before rushing to work.

Friday...batshit crazy day in the office and before I knew it, it was time for my night film class. Screened a bizarre Peter Greenaway indie flick - The Draughtsman's Contract - which got me scratching my head in weird fascination. After that, JLo, A-Go-Go and I made our way to OBar around 2330hrs where we met CY2, Z (her friend) and Va-Va-Voom.

All hell broke loose after that and yeah...leave it at that cause everything became a blur soon after.

At 0300hrs, all of us slowly (but surely!) made our way to Chine One at Clarke Quay and continued our debauchery. Again, by this time, I was already begging for mercy..mercy..mercy. Finally bade everyone farewell at almost 0500hrs.

Now...here I am at work. Fell asleep while packing for my Batam trip later and woke up around 0815hrs. Did some 5-minute mad packing and bolted the door to the train station. Heading to Batam with  Nani later at 1500hrs and we'll be there for 3 days, staying at Holiday Inn. Like I mentioned before...I need me some sleep.

Okay...back to work.

P/S: Knees are stiff as hell!

Copa la vida

This morning, as I dashed from the kitchen to the gate, I managed to pick out some news headlines flashing on Channel News Asia. It read that from August 2010, SingTel will have the rights to broadcast EPL matches, replacing Starhub.

Words cannot describe how upset I am.

Mio shows suck and there is no Star World there. Did I mention how upset I am?

Very very much.
