I havent slept at all and I am bogged fuck shit be damned with work. I dressed so shabbily to work in the morning and am feeling quite ashamed by noon and so, during lunch time, I couldnt take it anymore. I headed to the mall to buy this really colourful necklace to brighten up my drab outfit today.
When I got back I put it in on and now...I look like a tribeswoman. My hospitality and tourism lecturer said I was promotin ethnic tourism. Yay. I am feeling so aborigine, right now.
At the end of the 12th episode, when Owen kissed Christina, the air was electrifying. I was so in awe. That kiss was so animalistic but so tender. Yes, life is an oxymoron like that. I know I am a Christina. As for the Owen part..ho hum.

After a quick run to the Esplanade Library after work on Saturday, I made my way to Jurong East to meet Lao Lee. The destination? Science Centre to catch the Body Worlds Exhibition.
I thought the whole idea of plastination in the name of Science was so cool. With each body and body part I saw, I got so upset because I hadn't been treating mine with utmost care.
The exhibition was humbling. I remember telling Lauren how could there be sceptics who argued that the concept of God was a farce when the human body system was so complete and its creation was out of this world? Who could have thought about this and how did the first human form? There must be a greater power and that power should be respected. A lot.
I saw body ageing and again, I reflected on my life. O how youth is slipping through my fingers and how I should start embracing my life fully without any insecurity. It set my mind racing to the parents. How ready are they to accept senior citizenship? How happy have their lives been?
And then I came to the cancer part. I just thank God that the cancerous exhibits were at the end of the showcase. It was a bit heartbreaking to see and relive the memory again. I paid $20 for a journey through a lifetime and ..wow, I survived it shaken and humbled. I should bring my parents to catch it.
Hello, folks, you aint spring chicken!
Jason and Jo picked us up from Science Centre around 1830hrs and we headed to Holland Village. The Woos called me up few days ago saying we should do dinner so, there we were. We went to Mykii for Lauren wanted to check that place out. It was my third time being there so it was not really a novelty. Anyway, Grace also joined us and so we 5 had a nice little dinner.
We headed to Cold Rock Ice Creamery down the road after that for some fat-loving. Lao Lee gave me a belated birthday present. Sweet! Thank you, Lao Lee!
She got me an apt card and a collection of postcards. We saw this postcard collection of Penguin's vintage book covers some time ago and ..yay, got it.
After whiling some time and talking about life (like ancient Greek philosophers...only with ice cream), we all bundled up into cars and headed to Grace's place down at Tanjong Rhu.
We played the drums on Guitar Hero for a while.
Then...Jason crashed onto dreamland on the floor and I joined him later. It was barely midnight then. Lauren and Jo were happily watching the dumb (but funny!) Stephen Chow flick on TV and at about 0045hrs, we headed home.
Today, I met Weiling and Clara at AMK Fish & Co for lunch.
Noreen joined us an hour later, with Isa in tow. This boy is going to be a heartbreaker when he gets older. And oh, it's very obvious but let me just say it to be clear:
Clara's biological clock is on overdrive.
Phew!
Caught INVICTUSlater with Meiling and my my my...Clint Eastwood, respect.
I dont care if the plot sticks closely to the original turn of events or it has more fiction that truth. For me, it contains all the Clint Eastwood "traditions". Add in inspiring little speeches here and there, great display of sporting emotions and heartwarming music, it's cinematic manipulation at its best. I love it. In fact, I love it more than The Blind Side. The latter is nice but it doesnt make any sense to me. Oh well.
Morgan Freeman's and Matt Damon's emotings were phenomenal though the plot is forgettable. It's great for me because of Eastwood's traditional techniques and his auteristic parent-child theme but yes, plot is predictable. Freeman really channelled Mandela to the core and Damon, while he comes up short in replicating Francoise Pienaar's height, I think his acting is good.
Okay. I'm biased. Matt Damon always has a place in my heart. Good Will Hunting, baby.
From movie, to a quick dinner, to a trip to the Far East Flora mega florist down at Thomson Road. Meiling wanted to get tulips for a colleague's birthday surprise and so I tagged along. We then went to her office where she did the flowers into a freaking bouquet (nice one!).
Oh I bought gerberas for $4.50 a bunch. Nice!
And that's how my weekend cookie crumbles.
Another week in dog house, everyone!
P/S: The birthday and its celebrations are over. Time to (attempt) diet.
Am still streaming 2 of Grey's Anatomy latest episodes. I am so glad they are back.
Was supposed to meet the girlies today but the parents decided to have my "birthday" dinner so...had to postpone the former. You see, the family has not been celebrating my birthday for at least 10 years already and it always upset me till no end on my birthday. No card, no wish, no hug...nada. So when the father asked if I could make it for dinner...I was surprised and said yes.
The sister couldnt make it (work) and so it was just the 3 of us; like I'm the only child. Felt good a little bit. Just a little.
We went to Rex McKenzie at Prinsep Place and just had some crabs, fish, vege and soup.
Crab, glorious chilli crab :)
*quick check* Ah...still streaming.
Anyway, feeling nostalgic and missing my auntie. So let's just end this with some old pictures taken with her. I discovered these precious gems when all the family and relatives hung out in the evening at the living room after her funeral. I was rummaging through the stacks of albums when I found these. Wow.
Most of the pictures were taken in Perth. Will go relive the memory next month. Bring out the tissue paper.
