I dont have many friends who came from the elite schools (no Jay, you're not counted). Nor do I have many of those who stay in landed property. Maybe such people think that the likes of my friends and me are somewhat beneath them. I just hope that these people are positive existentialists cause the last time I check, many poor people dont get complicated health problems.
Bloody elitists.
May you'll be blessed with opportunities of consuming piss-in-soup by the plebeian "low-life" waiters. May the gardeners kill your precious bonsai trees. I am tempted to hope that these gardeners rape your children but...no. I am just a commoner. I dont want my gardener neighbour (who possible could be my classmate) to be imprisoned. So yes...may he rape your bonsai then.
To some, the bonsai trees are much worthier than their children, anyway.
Salut.

Empire state of mind II
It's so hot and I've been very, very pre-occupied lately. Usually, that's not a good thing for there's no me-time and there's not much creativity left in this dumb brain.
The only thing keeping me sane is the hope that I'll be travelling again.
God knows when now...but I will.
...
Ooohh New York
Ooohh New York
Grew up in a town
That is famous as
The place of movie scenes
Noise is always loud
There are sirens all around
And the streets are mean
If I can make it here
I can make it anywhere
That's what they say
Seeing my face in lights
Or my name in marquees
Found down on Broadway
Even if it ain’t all it seems
I got a pocketful of dreams
Baby, I'm from New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York
New York
New York
On the avenue
There ain't never a curfew
Ladies work so hard
Such a melting pot
On the corner selling rock
Preachers pray to God
Hail a gypsy cab
Takes me down from Harlem
To the Brooklyn Bridge
Some will sleep tonight
With a hunger for
More than an empty fridge
I'm gonna make it by any means
I got a pocketful of dreams
Baby, I'm from New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These street will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York
New York
New York
One hand in the air for the big city,
Street lights, big dreams all looking pretty
No place in the world that can compare
Put your lighters in the air
Everybody say yeah yeah
Yeah, yeah
In New York
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new

Roast fish and cornbread
(This is so overdued...but not as overdued as Ismail's wedding, Sha's hen night and Sha's wedding. Almost gave up in trying to find time to update those events.)
Anyway over the Good Friday/Easter weekend early this month, the mother, the niece (who freakishly looks like me sometimes) and myself trooped down to KL to just while the time away. I didnt do much, in fact, I actually brought work there and I actually did it.
Amazeballs.
Warning: Stay away if you are really famished. Too many food pictures here.
Day 1 - 2nd April 2010
At 0700hrs, the three of us were at the Hock Seng Building down at Lavender Street. We were taking coach to KL and I had gotten us seats on Transtar First Class 16-seater bus at almost $100 a head. We were the last ones to make reservations as almost all of the seats were taken up (could see these online) and as a result, we had to sit on the lower deck. Still, it was all good.

Once we entered Malaysia, we were served food and we could watch a variety of movies on board. Not only that, the flicks were of various languages and genres. There were games and music programmes, too. Robbie Williams' Live in Albert Hall marked the start of my journey.
At about 1300hrs, we eventually reached Pasar Rakyat Bus Terminal and from there, we took a cab to our abode - Impiana KLCC. The hotel had a bleargh exterior but the room was fairly nice.
We managed to check-in easily as we didnt mind getting the smoking room. If we were to wait for a non-smoking room, we would have to wait and the room would be facing the other side of the hotel. Anyway, we took it because I just wanted to get into a room. The hotel was near KLCC Petronas Twin Towers and from my room, I could see them. Alas, there was some major construction work in front of us.

Okay.
Next stop...to Pavillion mall for food and shop.
Obviously there's many pictures of the niece because...who would take my pictures?
My jumpshots? Gah!!
We spent a God damn long time at that mall. If I am not wrong, we were there at 1430hrs till 1830hrs. I wanted to die by the time we got back to the hotel. It's hot, crowded, traffic's crazy and urgh..did I say crowded?
Got back to the hotel and the niece and I contemplated swimming. We both jumped into the lovely pool with the mother sitting on the deck.

Like I mentioned earlier, this trip was just a really free and really easy one. At2030hrs, we headed to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Hah, we weren't even that hungry but there's a buffet spread complete with live jazz music.
Why not?
Didnt take pictures because, obviously, we were busy eating. Plus the lighting was very dim (ambient, my ass) and I was pissed by the fact that diners could smoke indoors. I want bbq smoke not one which came from your ciggy, all right!
Dinner's done...went back to the room and I actually did ..gasp..work. Then, I watched Disney channel and fell asleep watching iCarly.
Goodnight, KL.
Day 2 - 3rd April 2010
Day 2 of my aimless KL trip, hahaha. Slept through breakfast cause I couldn't be arsed waking crazy early. When I eventually rolled out of bed at 1100hrs, it was the same sight which greeted me. Eurgh.
Grabbed a bit of bite (bought some snacks the day before) and then we headed to KLCC in the dreadful noon heat. By the time we reached the mall, we almost melted. Anyway, ah...KLCC, a place for the rich, I must say. The mother, feeling like a datin (tai-tai), went to Harrod's and spent her Ringgits on a PVC bag and a bloody Harrod's teddy bear. Who went to Malaysia to buy Harrod's bear? The mother!
Feeling aimless, we three headed to the Petronas Science Centre and went on an educational trip. Like I said, we had no aim. Plus, this gave us something to do before hunger really kicked in.
We were in there for 2 hours, man. It was indeed interesting though I felt so geeky in there. Anyway, it was around 1430hrs and we were all getting cranky from hunger and so, based on Din's recommendation, I led them to Chili's. Steak!!

The lava cake was to-die-for but I didnt have much of it. The mother and niece did the task. And oh, a disclaimer, it was not my idea to order a lot or to have big meals. Lest you call me greedy and a glut (people tend to label that on fat people like me), I just want to say that the niece and the mother could eat...a lot. The mother...is especially horrible. It's like she did not have enough food when she was growing up and so, it's like payback time once she reached adulthood. Hahahahaha.
After eating, we roamed around KLCC some more. No, we really didnt get out because it was effing hot. So we actually stayed till 1845hrs and then quickly rushed back to the hotel. As I had taken a hotel+spa package, the mother and I were entitled to an hour of massage for free. We made an appointment at 1900hrs so we went back, changed and got ready to be rubbed. Ooh....baby.

The mother and I were massaged side by side. I think at one point, the mother got so comfortable, she actually snored. Aiyoh, so embarrassing. But yes, the massage is goooood. And probably just like sex, I wanted to cry after that cause it felt so so so good.
Got back to the room after that and continued to do my work. At about 2000hrs, the mother said she was hungry. But I was too lazy to go down to eat and if I refused to do that, that meant the mother and niece would not go too because they always relied on me to ... lead the way and do the talking with the staff. So, the next best thing was to order the bloody expensive room-service. Oh well. We're on a holiday afterall, right?
Right.
The mother, being a glut that she was, as usual ordered in excess. She had her char kwey teow AND her mee soto. In the end, she almost couldnt finished both. I was so pissed, I actually asked her to sit and finish them. She was struggling, of course. Served her right. Grrrr. Wasted my money.
Burp.
Day 3 - 4th April 2010
Ah...Easter Sunday to the Christians but to the majority of the Malaysians, this Sunday was special because it was the final day of their F1 Sepang Grand Prix. To me, it was just another ridiculously fucking hot day. Poooh.
Woke up early for breakfast. Since it was still early, I gave all those rice and noodle a pass. Seriously, we Asians eat anything for breakfast.
Got back to the room, lazed around some more and then started to pack. We checked out at noon, left our bags at the reception and then the mother led us to some heartland shopping centre to get her scarves. The mall was like 20 minutes away and the journey was dreadful because it was so freaking hot. When we reached, the mother was left to do her shopping along because the niece and I refused to follow her. So...we parked ourselves at Dunkin Donuts for drinks.
The mother was having a time of her life, going through racks and racks of scarves and traditional clothes. When she was done, she got hungry and ... voila, we suddenly found ourselves at Manhattan Fish Market restaurant.
And you asked me how did I get so fat?
Ppfft.
We were back at the hotel around 1500hrs cause we were supposed to take our transport at 1530hrs to the airport. It was freaking early as our flight was only supposed to fly at 1900hrs and the cab journey would only take about 45 minutes. But the hotel staff was afraid that there would be a traffic hold up because the F1 Sepang was held just before turning into the airport. Great.
Anyway, it turned out that there was no traffic jam because the race had already started (good luck to the spectators who were in the hot sun) and so...we were at the airport pretty darn early.
Yeah, we took AirAsia home because the mother whined so much beforehand about how taking a bus back would take so long and tiring. Bla bla bla. Fine, she's paying for her own ticket anyway. Our flight was supposed to leave at 1900hrs but 30 mins prior to boarding, we were told that the plane wasnt there cause it was held up in Indonesia or something.
Fine, we waited...and waited...and waited.
Finally boarded the God damn plane at 2030hrs.
So much for being hassle-free.
Sidenote: We were Ringgit-less by the time we boarded the plane. Therefore, the mother couldnt buy any food on board. Mwahahahaha.
One hour later...touched down, Changi.
I love you, Singapore!
