I am the resurrection

2 more minutes....
2 more minutes...
1 more minute...
45 more seconds...
I .. cannot.. watch.

Are we going?
Are we?
Are we?

WE ARE GOING TO MOSCOW!!!!!!!
May 21st.
Mark it.

P/S: Commentator relates as if we have won the cup!

P/P/S: Ronaldo will score in the final match.

P/P/S/S: Did you see that? Park Ji Sung lasted for the whole 90 minutes!

Bacon biscuit blues

Oh Lord, we suck. We totally suck. Our defence is in shambles. Van Der Sar is a bunch of nerves, Nani and Carrick are so..lembek.Did I say defence is in shambolic shambles? It is!

Hargreaves..why is he at the back? He should be slightly forward, in midfield where he belongs. He is not comfortable behind there. But then, who can be behind there?? God.

I really wish this 1st half will end soon (2 more minutes) and that Uncle Fergie will do the hair dryer treatment. It's bad. It's so bad that it's disgraceful to be leading 1 goal up against Barca.

Okay half time.
I cannot take this.

###

Jesus walks

Shite. I am sleepy and the match still hasnt started. I can barely open my eyes. Crap.

I was given an extra Policy class today...even though we dont really need it cause I am on schedule. Lesson was short today (was shorter than normal). After that, I bundled my students and we headed to Raffles City for some ice cream loving.

It's the Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day, ya'll.

I looked deceptively fresh and youthful, aye?

Anyway, this was all that mattered.
New York Super Fudge Chunk.

It's a coned heaven.

Okay..match has started.

Scholes gave away free kick in less than 1 minute...he lost possession.
Then...
Then...
Then...
14th minute, he freaking scored. Goal goal goal goal goal goal goal!
HOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I was just commenting to JarJarDoink that Scholes sucked and should retire. Alamak, I take it back. His goal was fantastico!

Argh, the heat is killing me.
Think I might just chop off my hair soon.
Say bye-bye hair.

I was wearing something there by the way.

Bye curly, bushy hair. I am tired of having it in my eyes, my ears, around my neck...and have it entangled with my necklace or shirt button. Urgh.

All right, all right.

Barca (which is a team I respect by the way) are playing well and Scholes is lucky to be able to shoot that beauty of a goal. Possession-wise, Man U are inferior and Barca have more goal opportunities and look more dangerous. It's quite a scorcher, this match.

And I am going to focus my ass on this game. On the other blog, I predicted a 2-1 to Man U, in the spirit of 1999 Champions League final. However, you know what...whatever lah. As long as Man U win.

Later.

P/S: Ji-Sung is on fire! Go Kimchi boy!

P/P/S: Ronaldo promises to score. Let's see if he can keep his word.

P/P/S/S: I still dont like Wes Brown.

Been a son

I was a jerk today. Not a bitch, nor slut, but a jerk. Yes, I can be such a pendejo sometimes. To the person whom I was being such a freaking jerk to...I am sorry. If there was more than one person, I'm sorry.

It's a one-off thing. I displayed the Type A personality today. In fact, it was an A* performance. I'm usually Type B so yeah, it was plain jerk-y of me. But to my defence,I was really stretched out and tested.

[Side note: I used to see this guy who had a friend. Let's call the friend Goeslaw. The first time Goeslaw met me, he labelled me a Type A...just because. I didnt say anything...today, he's right though.]

Oh well.

But we know that no matter how big of an asshole you are, there's always a bigger asshole. At least now I can be slightly consoled.

Maybe I am talking rubbish.
Maybe.

I shall turn to the guitar for answers now.

A thousand times goodnight, man sluts.

P/S: Specimen A is really ignoring me now. Think it's time to get off my MSN list. Yay.

Human behaviour

Afghanistan?
China?

In our quest for Western idolisation and recognition, we seem to forget that these places are no longer as backwards and technology-inefficient tragic mess as we assumed them to be.

And how about this one?
Such pure innocent charity.
It's platonic and yet, it's full of love.

The heart and brain still matter.
They have always been.

God.

Visions of Mama Lemon (my former lecturer; not her real name, duh.) smoking by the dustbin outside uni come to mind. She was a terror in my Global Culture class, instilling fear in my poor Asian student's heart. She questioned us and she sized us up. She interrogated us, forced us to read by making us conduct tutorials ourselves. My heart shrank everytime I made my way to her class.

Thank God I had Tan with me.
We were almost always in tears right outside class.
Always refusing to move any further.

I could have done better though. It was the first time my mind went blank during an exam paper. Sometimes I regret letting fear overcame me.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

So young, so full of shit.

Pastime paradise

I am having that Mentor-Mentee session...again! Somebody in the Planning Dept really hates me, I'm sure. Otherwise, I wouldnt be getting this for 2 working days straight.

"Do you have a problem?"
"Anything that you want to share with me?"
"Any unhappiness?"
"What do you do during your free time?"
"Are you happy with the school?"
"Are you happy with me?"
"What are you going to do once you are done here?"
"Have you learnt a lot here?"

Man!

Why dont you give me money and let me take them out on an excursion? To the zoo, beach or some park? We'll have greater bonding time then.

I was telling Susan that I am giving myself around 2 years (if I can last that long) or until I finish my Masters. I havent started on the latter so yeah, need to think about that too. The school is moving next year to God knows where and maybe the future location may have a significant role in my moving. Maybe.

Back to my education, I will really have to ponder on what I want to do. I need to take some action once I am back from New York. Unless I have that post-grad qualification, I dont think I can move on to anywhere more credible and reputable. And I dont want to be stuck here until I shrivel and eventually die in my Mass Comm room.

As for social life... as I have chosen to walk this valley of the shadow of death, I realise that social life is less in existence. Think I'll have to just stick to one night stands, cheap thrills and quick fixes.

I'll see you people in hell.

Bring Monopoly.

P/S: Before I go to hell, I need to break this crypted code of academic text mess they call university textbooks by 1330hrs. Holy shit. It's a topic I am not familiar with.

Angel of Harlem

Have been dateless this weekend so I really got myself acquainted with bed and TV. Was watching That '70s Show until sunrise, laughing myself stoned on Sunday morning. Why wasnt I born in the 70s? It was an awful cool decade.

I'm a closet hippie.
Spawn of Janis Joplin.

So yeah, I ended up watching some Malay drama on Malaysian channels RTM1 and TV3. I seldom watch Malay (and Indian) shows (especially Malaysian ones) cause they are all so sad. They are like my Achilles’ heel or something. Somehow, I succumbed today and I ended up a wreck. I was bawling on the mother's bed. Stupid sad show.

The show used Imran Ajmain's Seribu Tahun song as its main track. I've never heard of the song before (though I've heard of its popularity) and in my emotional trainwreck-ness, I fell in love with it. So sweet...and sad. It's a glorious mess.

Oh well.
Enough of Malay shows and songs for the time being.
Too emotional.

On a happier note: 37 MORE DAYS TO NEW YORK

Going to Big Ap-ple!
Going to Big Ap-ple!

I am suppose to plan an itinerary cause most likely I will spend some time alone from Rae, Lauren and Clara. I'm a loner, can? I dont know. I dont like to rush and I know it's stupid, but I like to just relax, absorb everything at my own pace and check out every nook and cranny.

Again it may sound stupid, but I just might want to sit in some park or cafe sipping freaking coffee. Of course I'll go Niagara Falls with the ladies. That and the Statue of Liberty and Broadway.

I am not that stupid as to miss them, okay? Haha.

I really want to check out the musuems, the book stores, the cafes (Serendipity 3!), the parks, Wall Street, Ground Zero, NY Fashion House, Ellis Island, 30 Rock, Times Square, NYU, Tisch, Little Italy and Soho Village. The latter is of course to feed my hippie instincts. No time to cover everything actually. Especially if my "lepak" mood kicks in. I may just end up somewhere watching a street performer sing Big Yellow Taxi.

I can be damn bo liao like that, in any part of the world.

And true to my duh fashion, right now I am greatly concerned as to how to charge my MP3 player when I am there in New York. Will it even survive the 20 odd hours on board Cathay Airlines? No way am I going to bring my laptop there. Or, should I? Should Snow White get to see the Apple?

Considering I lug Snow White all the way to Hong Kong and KL for no reason, I just might. She and I are going to end up in some cafe in NY so that I can blog about being there. If I dont bring, how to charge MP3 player? Gah.

What clothes to bring?
What bag? What shoes?
Heels? Flats? Sneakers?

Man. As you can see, I am in the holiday mood already. This coming month of May, I'm going to just zoom pass it. Don't hold me back, people. Don't hold me back.

Shit. Monash books are calling. Back to work.

Bummer.

A thousand times goodnight, starsailors and wanderlusters.

Territorial pissing

To my dear university students,

Freaking pay attention in class and stop bothering me with stupid questions like:

"How to start my assignment?"
"What to write for the assignment?"
"What am I suppose to do for the assignment?"

Bloody hell.

I'm foaming at the mouth already telling you what to do when I was in class, standing in front of you people. I helped you decipher the questions, analyse them and then, simplify them. What? You want me to write the assignment for you? Type it out for you? Pray that everything goes smoothly for you?

Suck my toe.

No. I wont do it even if you suck it.

It's the weekend, people. Give me a freaking break. All I ask is for you to listen more, think more and be freaking independent.

Spineless morons.

Venus as a boy

"Tapi tak mengapa aku tak heran
Karena dirimu cinta saatku
Oh oh
Aku ketahuan pacaran lagi
Dengan dirinya teman baikmu
Oh oh
Aku ketahuan pacaran lagi
Dengan dirinya teman baikmu"

Shortcake, you put this in my head.

And Man U lost.
I can taste my dinner in my throat.
O well.

I wanted to take a walk yesterday after work. I had plans of visiting the Singapore Arts Musuem. Boy, I had big plans. However, they didnt materialise. I followed Shortcake to Raffles City to shop for gifts for some children. Then she took me to Gloria Jean's where she fed me blueberry cheesecake.

I didnt know what's in the cheesecake. All I knew, I felt immense sleepiness after that and it was only 2000hrs. Could barely open my eyes along the train ride home. In the end, I fell asleep watching the Malay film on telly..that Bawang Putih Bawang Merah show (er..Garlic and Shallot?).

Today was a totally flat out lepak day.
Nothing significant happened until Man U lost.

Anyway...

Next week is payday. And there's a public holiday thrown in on Thursday. That's it, people. Let's par-taay.

Next week.

..
..

Jay+Jo, have a good honeymoon in Turkey. It seems like the whole world is going there. Liah just came back, the Woos have left and Hira is leaving some time next week. I'm curious too. Maybe next year?

Sheesh so many places, too little time and money.

###

The rose

I didnt do the walk last night but more on that later after the game.

In order not to jinx anything, I'm wearing the Czech jersey which Adrian had given to me last year. It does not read 'Ronaldo' or 'Tevez' or 'Giggs' at the back. It's 'Nedved' instead.

But that's not the point.

The colour is red still. And urgh...let's hope it's going to be some match.

Later.

Elegantly wasted

Just done with Advertising class. And I almost wanted to punch a student's face. But of course, I had to maintain my cool.

There was this group which was facing difficulty because the members could not agree on a product. It was like 3 against 1 and logically, if you cannot compromise, then majority rules, right? Not really.

The sole advocateur insisted of having his way to the despair of the rest. He wasnt open for negotiations, advice and ideas. I absolutely abhor this kind of people. I spent 15 minutes trying to hear his views and the rest and then tried to shed some light because afterall, *ahem* I am the freaking marker. No...dont want to listen.

Fine.
Good luck to you.

I just cant wait to go home. I am not even planning anything after work cause all I really want to do now is to play guitar and vegetate. I have a few DVDs to watch, books to read and assignments to mark but I think, let's just go easy.

I shall go for a walk first. Think I'll head to Singapore Arts Musuem and then walk home. The last time I tried, I walked till Novena. Think today, let's aim for the Old Police Academy.

Backpack, check.
Flat shoes, check.
Water bottle, check.

See you at home later. Honk if you see me on the road.

On second thought, dont bother. I'll be plugged to my music anyway.

Sugar, we're going down

I dont know. Hillary doesnt do it for me. She has this "I-am-trying-too-hard" front with her and somehow, she gives this stuffy vibe. Yes, her records are impressive and so was her husband. She will always be in the shadows of her husband, his impeachment (and subsequent acquittal) included. She can never be Corazon Acquino, who managed to step out of her prolific's husband name and evolved into a charismatic leader herself.

But...

It doesnt mean that Obama is out of this world also. I'm so glad I'm not an American right now. But then again, it's not compulsory for Americans to vote. It's like democracy-but-not-quite in that part of the world. Americans.

Cruel twist of the week, the school put me on a morning shift to conduct a Mentor-Mentee (what a word! yes there is such a word!) session with the foreign students who are required to fill up time quota in school. I am supposed to be all nice and approachable, asking them if are adapting nicely to the school and to the course. Am supposed to find out what's going on in their lives, how's their living conditions...who they are sleeping with.

I said "supposed" cause at 0900hrs, no one turned up. The first mentee (still not used to this word. It sounds like a castrated praying mantis) showed up at 0930hrs and guess what, I sent him off. Couldnt be bothered to have a 1-on-1 and besides, I'll be seeing the same group of people later at 1330hrs. Ah..go go be gone.

So here I am, freezing my tits off in this cold classroom. By 1100hrs, I have sent 4 students away. Gasak korang lah nak buat apa.

It's Friday.
My mind is everywhere but here.
Think I shall go find it.

Geng, bila mau melalak? Wa mau makan itu mikrofon. Wa mau pekik sampai wa punya anak tekak mintak maaf zahir batin. Wa mau lonjak-lonjak macam Axl Rose makan LSD. Minggu depan, nak? Amacam, anda mau rok?????

Heh.
Ter-minah.

All I ask of you

What am I doing? I left work 4 hours ago and now, in my almost comatosed state, I am attempting to get back to work. My eyes are begging for a rest but my head is still racing. The hamster is still running the wheel. I need downers. And then in the morning, I need uppers to drag myself to work. Metaphorically, as we speak.

It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through

Going
Coming
Thought I heard a knock
Whose there? No one?
Thinking that I deserve it
Now I have realised
That I really didn't know

If you didn't notice
You mean everything
Quickly I'm learning
To love again
All I know is
I'm be okay

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's going to hurt when it heals too
Oh yeaah
It'll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile because I deserve too
Oooh it'll all get better in time

I could have turned on the TV
Without something that would remind me
Was it all that easy?
To just put us out your feeling

If I'm dreamin
Don't want to let it hurt my feelings
But that's the past I believe it
And I know that time will heal it

If you didn't notice
Well you mean everything
Quickly i'm learning
Oooh turn up again
All I know is
I'm be okay

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Oooh yeah
It'll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile because I deserve to
Oh it'll all get better in time - Better In Time, Leona Lewis

Had night class and it was (groan) Media Research again. Tribiani didnt turn up today so that left Jackie-O and me. The thing with this subject was that the textbook was utter rubbish and I didnt see the point in going through it. Yeah it was like my Creative Writing class with Izzy the other time. I could cover the basics within 2 hours in the first lesson and we all could twiddle our thumbs for the rest of the unit.

Twiddle twiddle

Anyway back to Media Research and Jackie-O... I dove straight to the assignment just now and helped her brainstorm her Research assignment. She decided to do something on online gaming - WoW to be exact. We spent more than hour just throwing ideas back and forth. She even gave me a lesson on Counterstrike, Simms, Maple Story and WoW during the discussion. It's great when you can talk to students like you are some old friends. I've taught Jackie-O for only 3 times and we are behaving like we've known each other for years. I like mature students :)

Mentioning students...

I have this university student, let's call her Jambalaya. Jambalaya always likes to stay back after class to hang out and chit chat with me for a while. Few days ago, she did that again and somehow we ended chatting about her life (me being the eternal kaypoh person). Initially, we were reviewing the things we talked about in class but that led to saucy details.

She suddenly chose to unravel her secrets to me and shared her sad plight. Oh there was deception, abuse, date rape, angry sex and every other thing one could not imagine. I'm an open-minded person and yet I couldnt help but feel disturbed.

Jambalaya was on the verge of tears as she related her story. Her pretty make-up seemed threaten by the bursting tear ducts. I tried very hard to be non-emotional. Afterall, I wasnt sure what kind of reaction she would like to see from me. Anyway I was really saddened. I didnt exactly break down and sob into her arms but yes, I felt for her.

Situations like this make me really glad that I am doing what I am doing. I cannot exactly make much difference in all the students' lives but I am here if you want to talk to me. I can provide you the listening ear and if it's really needed, a hug or two.

I really wanted to tell Jambalaya (who's around my age...like most of my uni students!) that things would be all right. But I held back a little. I didnt know if it's a wise thing but I ..well..I didnt do it. Looking back, I should have given her a hug and told her that things would eventually fall into pieces and she would get her groove back.

See, my maternal instincts are coming out, okay.
Oh well.

It's almost 0300hrs and I need to be at work by 0845hrs. I shall have to go back to my books and aim to sleep by 0430hrs.

Come to think of it, why do I bother to sleep?

A thousand times goodnight, shrinks and Aunt Aggie.

I want to be your everything

Phew!!!!!!

That's all.

###

Comfortably numb

Should I screen my eternal favourite The Clockwork Orange in Scriptwriting Class? Or should I screen One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? Yes, it's the season of disturbing movies.

On second thought, I dont think The Clockwork Orange will be much appreciated compared to the latter. Maybe not yet.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, it shall be then.

I have a feeling by year end, I will be a totally disturbed person who has been exposed to mucho weirdness. Not that I havent lost it already. Girl interrupted, anyone?

P/S: Sahriah, want to be a guest speaker in my class? You can talk about directing, scriptwriting, diva-handling. Want? I can treat you to dinner+movie.

###

In dreams

I went to school all sunny and cheery but the Monash student rep had to spoil it all for me. She couldnt get today's DVD in time and didnt have the courtesy to inform me earlier, knowing very well that Film class was at 1330hrs. She was not at her desk when I came looking for her. So I called.

Ed: XXX, can I get the DVD from you? Is it on your table?
XXX: Eh Ed, I cannot get it, leh. Can I give you next week?
Ed: WHAT? (in full diva mode) What do you mean "cannot get"?
XXX: I cannot find and cannot borrow in time.
Ed: But my class starts in 10 minutes!
XXX: I know..Sorry, lah.
Ed: Sorry? Why didnt you tell me earlier? UUU told me yesterday you had it with you.
XXX: I told you earlier. I emailed you!
Ed: When???
XXX: This morning.
Ed: You think I check my email every freaking minute is it?

I slammed the phone. Stomped into the classroom. Threw down the projector. Almost gave an audible "chee bye!" and walked out. Students were a bit taken aback, I must say. If I had a voodoo dall, I would have inserted a thousand needles up its ass, wishing very hard that the ass was XXX's. Molten hot needles.

Anyway...

As you know that God loves me, things werent really that screwed up hahaha. By a twist of fate, one of my students somehow had that particular DVD in her bag. I was like "O my God! I can really hug and kiss you right now!" The rest of the students finally breathed easy when they saw a smile light my face. Anger's gone.

And so we watched Blue Velvet for Film Class; a totally disturbing piece of gem.

I watched it for the first time last Tuesday (thanks to illegal streaming..in class!). I was so disturbed by it, I developed a 40c fever and had to stay off work for 3 days.

So yeah, Blue Velvet. There was this scene where Dennis Hopper brutally fucked ("made love" is so not apt) Isabella Rossellini and gosh, it was one of the most twisted scenes I had ever seen. The gas-mask, the fetish, the asphyxiation, the role-play, the BDSM thingy and all that profanities. I've never dreamed that I could screen something so soft-porn in class. I didnt even imagine that I could talk about sex in a most sordid way in class.

Ah, the power of university education. I like :)

On a totally different note...slightly 'chee-ko-pek'-ish nonetheless (I'm like that, can?), I saw this cute student at the staircase landing, smoking and looking oh-so-cool-it-hurts. It was like a ray of light shining down a totally dark tunnel, man. I just smsed Susan and shared.

Ed: Was in school and almost succumbed to paedophilia. There was an ang moh student and I almost wanted to pounce on him and suck his face!
Susan: You are sick. Tsk tsk he that cute meh?
Ed: Very. And young. Ard 18!
Susan: Goodness! A good 10 years younger than us!
Ed: Oh. That didnt cross my mind. Haha.
Susan: Ah. Good that I reminded you eh? Ha ha ha
Ed: No...I want ang moh boy.
Susan: Ok let me know if its good after you tried. Wink :)
Ed: Now u're sick.
Susan: You know you want it. Ha ha ha ha ha
Ed: Visit me in jail.
Susan: Ok you got a deal.

My sick friends feed my sick mind.
But damn, he's cute.
And so young.
And I am so sick.

God, I disgust myself.

But...no, not disgusted enough to swear off more men for the night (watched Jason Castro and David Cook on American Idol. Sexy. And they are both young! What the hell...), I shall go watch 22 men on a football pitch now. It's Barcelona vs Man U. Many of the players on the pitch are younger (and richer) so I guess I should just stop feeling guilty for ogling at younger men.

I cant help it if they are everywhere.

So mothers, lock your sons.
Ed's on a roll.

A thousand times goodnight, my candy-coloured clowns.

P/S: I'm not sick. I appreciate beauty. Sue me.

P/P/S: Then again...so what if I'm sick and twisted? Most geniuses were dubbed as psychopaths and weirdos before they were discovered.

P/P/S/S: Come on Man U!

A hard knock life

"Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile happy your days ( I can dream of the old days)
Life was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Every street lamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp gutters
And soon it will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustnt give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin"

I read that my favourite druggie-boy-mat-dadah Jason Castro sang that on American Idol today. I read that the judges didnt like it, they prefered bumbling Archuletta's ballad. I also read that, judging by the judges' lack of pimping, Castro would be booted out.

No........not my druggie.

I'll have him at a luau. American Idol can screw itself.

Weeeeeeeeee.

Okay let's go home.

Boulevard of broken dreams

I havent even stepped into America and already I'm thinking of next year's choice of destinations. I blame Discovery Travel and Living.

I am planning to go back to England next year and spend more time in London. Am planning a stop by at Manchester again..at least say hi to the statue of Matt Busby again and hope to catch a glimpse of Noel Gallagher.

And then, move up to Scotland. Okay wait, if I move up, I'll go Scotland. If I go down, I head to Brighton and then Wales. Waaaaaaah, it's all very ambitious.

Let's hope I stay long enough in the job to save money.

WORK!

###

That's what you get

*scratch head*look around*lost*

It's 0200hrs and I feel funny. Pent-up, rather. It has been a physically non-demanding day and at the end of it, I just feel...weird. Idaho smsed me just now asking whether there was anything exciting at work. Nothing. Nothing happened.

Lauren is not online. FifiBitch is not online. No one to bitch with and whine to. I really need to get a pet goldfish. I also have the urge to run to Yishun Dam (Seletar Reservoir) and just chill on the kerb. Moonies, it's time for a meet up. Grace, time to start planning the birthday. What theme?? Are we still sticking to the Cowboy Goes Mexican theme?

Till then, let's carry on with the mundane.

I wouldnt be this bored if I had Wii.

Sobriety is failing me but no....let's stay up for football.

..
..
..

I remember a conversation I had with a student, Winzy, yesterday. Winzy and I went way back. She was one year my junior back in secondary school and by some twist of cruel fate, she's now my student.

Anyway we were bitching about some teachers from Mayflower Sec and just talked about those good old days when I was her cruel NPCC senior. She also had a short stint as a Student Council wannabe and of course, I had to haunt her cause I was one of the student leaders who was quite a bitch. Hey, I was like those Mean Girls. I didnt like her and her friends back then. Okay, more like this particular friend of hers.

Yeah, I'm a bitch like that.
But I had reasons.
Her good friends were eyeing the guy I was *ahem* seeing.
What a threatened bitch got to do, right?

Winzy had this girl friend whom I was totally anti with. This girl would always flirt with LEJ and the best thing was, LEJ would tell me about it to piss me off. I really wanted to pull his ears but he was too tall for me [note: get shorter boyfriends next time] so I just smacked him in the stomach.

Things went on like that for a year. Yes, one year. I must have really liked LEJ a lot to tolerate such crap. It came to a point where when we talked over the phone, he would quote her words. I remember once we had an argument (over friends; he hated mine and I hated his) he even conference-called Winzy's friend to ask her opinions. I was like...WHAT?!!

I should have listened to my friends. He's a moron. I should have bailed when he was still a nerdy, gawky guy instead of the beautiful creation he had become. I liked you when you were a nobody, jerk! Kwa kwa kwa.

No he didnt look like this. Please, chinese boys dont look like this, lah!
But he did have the same hair. At some point...

Anyway yeah after sticking to it for almost 2 years, I figured it's time to call it quits. Furthermore it was my O Level year. LEJ was in the normal stream so he had one more year to go. That girl was in Sec 3 so she too had one more year...gasak korang. Asalkan kau bahagia. Yeah I was bitter.

I was bitter cause I made effort to cut loose but LEJ still called me everyday after school - asked me to teach him English, offered to teach me Accounts, asked me about my day and best of all, told me what the girl did to him..yada yada.

Anyway O Level exams came and left.
I was out of school.
Good riddance jerk and slut.

I should have gone out with the older, richer Taiwanese student instead. Hahahahaha. We wouldnt have a good conversation and I wouldnt have anyone to teach me Maths and Accounts but at least he wouldnt tell me about a girl wanting to do the nasty with him to me. Why? Cause he couldnt speak English and my Mandarin then was limited.

Sheesh what a colourful secondary school life I had.
Have to thank Winzy for the memories.

See Lauren, if we had been close back then, you would have heard all the juicy bits :P

*yawn*

Football has started. I am rooting for Chelsea. Maybe Liverpool can survive this but I just dont fancy them. Oh well. May the best men win.

A thousand times goodnight, pendejo.

Englishman in New York

At 1945hrs, student requested to go off. He gave me that forlorn "I am so sorry but I'm so tired" look. How to say no? I would even give him money to take cab home if he had broken into tears.

Sheesh.

I hate night classes.

By the way, the exam dates are out and Policy exam will be on the 17th June. Told the students that any question regarding policies and media law will have to be asked by the 3rd of June cause I wont be around after that.

Student 1: Where are you going?
Ed: Away!
Student 2: Go where?
Ed: New York.
Student 1: For what?
Ed: For fun!
Student 2: What? During our exam period?
Ed: I'm sorry, nobody says I cannot!
Student 2: But..but..our exams??
Student 1: Yeah!
Ed: But..but..
Student 2: Dont go lah.
Ed: Oh please! We'll go through the past exam questions by end of May!
Student 1: But but...
Ed: You will be ready by 1st of June. You better be.

Your mother pays for my holiday, is it? Even my boss says it's fine cause you know why?

..

I am not the one sitting for the exams!

..

I have done my best in digesting all these Monash books and regurgitate it all for you and I think I deserve a holiday, okay? It's New York. Let me be Carrie Bradshaw for a while, can? Then I can start another Monash season.

Humph!

###

Build me up buttercup

I have spent 2 hours..2 hours(!) trying to read this stupid book and I have successfully done 3 miserable pages. It's the 2nd lesson tonight and I really cringe at the thought of going the distance teaching Media Research.

I dont even take this long or face so much difficulty preparing for my Monash university classes. Yet, I am struggling for this Higher Diploma unit. Cannot siam, lah. Must really teach tonight.

Shithead.

Times like this I really wish I am my own boss selling fruits or flowers. Or sipping Moroccan tea down at Casablanca, travelling the world.

Tell me again why am I doing this...what am I doing here?
Why, when the money's not that great and it is slowly killing my health?

I didnt know sado-masochism is my thing.
But now we all know.
*whipped*

Adoi, sakit.
But...
Gimme gimme more
Gimmer more
Gimme gimme more.

It's (not) raining men

Last week, on my way to the clinic, I thought I saw Specimen A. Yes, Franco. I could be wrong though. Afterall, I've never met him in real life before. But this person really looked like Specimen A (from what I had seen in the pictures).

So what did I d0?
I ran and hid behind the wall at AMK's Jubilee.

Then I felt silly. How could it be him? Then I reminded myself that I had a high fever and maybe I was just imagining things. Crap.

No more Specimen A at the mo. No more Specimen B also. Havent met EuropaDiscoDancer for a while but it's all right. It's time to move on to Specimen C, I think.

The problem is ... there's no Specimen C.

Haha.

Not yet. *wink*

WORK!

Love in the club

I caught a super-duper silly show last night and it greatly reduced my brain cells. I went home and couldnt even answer a single thing on the show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and that's depressing. Classic.

Meiling got us free passes to catch the premiere and since I was in the morning shift...why not. If only I knew, I would have gone to the library instead.

Okay okay. It's free.

I like comedies and I like stupid shows (hey, I love Dude, Where's My Car?) but oh man, SUPERHERO MOVIE is not even funny or remotely timely. It is a spoof on all the Spiderman franchise, X-Men, Fantastic 4, Batman, Sky High, etc ... but the thing is, it's a bit too late now. It's all cliche and frankly, dated.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Uncle Albert: [to Rick about a book on puberty] Once a month, you'll bleed from your vagina.
[awkward pause]
Uncle Albert: This may be the wrong book.

...

Uncle Albert: With great power comes... ow!
Rick Riker: Great responsibility? Try to breathe!
Uncle Albert: I can't. You're kneeling on my balls!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Don't say I didnt warn you.

At 85 minutes, I was glad it didnt stretch any further. The old lady behind me was yakking loudly on her mobile, several kids were making lots of noise and not many paid attention to the show. It was bad. The whole experience was bad and maybe the film wasnt half as bad...the ordeal of being in the cinema just made it worse.

Poooh.
Gimme my 85 minutes back.
I was so stumped, I..I.. slept at midnight.
Now that's early.

All right, need to head to the Grindhouse soon. Idaho is on leave (today and yesterday) and it sure is boring without her around. I only have night lesson today...my Media Research class. Gosh, I dont like this topic. It brought back bad memories of Susanne Chan and Research Methods all over again; only this time, I am Susanne Chan.

Mummy, no!

Argh!

Where was I?

Oh yeah...to work.

Surfin' Safari

It's hard to be a media student if you dont have an internet connection, access to radio and access to TV. Yes, as superficial as it may sound, all these matter. How can you study the media if you are not exposed to them? There's just a limit to how much theory you can absorb and how much you can imagine. To listen, to watch and to surf provide a different ball game all together. You have to know what you are getting yourself into.

It's not because you want to be cool. There's nothing cool in studying Karl Marx and Habermas. It is because you want to be in the know. You want to know how the world works and to know this, you have to be in tuned with new media. That means, we have to go beyond newspapers and books. We have to think modern. We have to think global.

I shudder at the thought of my student who doesnt have radio, TV and internet. Already, she is giving headaches to her group member because she doesnt know what the rest are talking about as she is not yet tuned to the media student mode. With no access to the above mentioned, she cannot do research, analyse TV programmes and so on. Now, is that an easy way out? To skive?

I dont know.

Shit, man. I have done my best.
Please God, do the rest.

Sunday bloody Sunday

It's a very laidback, free-and-easy Sunday had I. One of the best days so far. No one was at home to rouse me from slumber. No one hurried me from my long shower session and no one asked me to scoot over as I spread myself on the sofa watching MTV nonsense one after another. No one fought with the TV with me as I drifted in and out of sleep in front of the goggle box. Even managed to watch sitcom re-runs like Two & A Half Men!

And there was White Chicks hahaha.

So yeah, I had a relaxing and lazy Sunday...so much so I didnt do any work. Now it's 0200hrs on Monday morning and I am about to prepare for my 0900hrs Advertising class.

My fingers are hurting. Just done a 3-hr guitar jamming session with the sister. It was hilarious though. She had Avril Lavigne and I had My Chemical Romance. We both also screwed up Linkin Park's Breaking The Habit. We made it sound like a mariachi masterpiece. Aye carumba.

Maybe I can hire a mariachi band for the brother's wedding.
Know any Mexican?

I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
to show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way
I'll never be alright
So, I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit
I’m breaking the habit
Tonight

Sun goes down

I have eaten too many antibiotics. Everything tastes like antibiotics. Even my fart smells like one. Heck, I thought durians smell like antibiotics now.

###

Forgetful Lucy

Well well well.

Felt slightly abused today. The mother got me down to NTUC so that I could push the cart around and helped her carry groceries. God knew how many people I had infected. I think I had germ-inated 15 at the frozen section alone. It's hard to cover my cough when both hands were meandering the trolley through the crowd.

I did kick a slight fuss and we took cab home.

Bitch, plese!
Hello, diva is too sick to walk, okay.

..
..
..

The days of being medically unfit are over. In 12 hours' time, I will have to go back to class and have my last Creative Writing class with Izzy. It's good to get some sun but who am I kidding, I know what I'm getting myself into once the work mode kicks in. It's the very reason I got sick in the first place.

I need to get back to nature. Need to feel the grass, the wind, the trees, the river, the sea, the mountains... I cant believe the NPCC Unit decided to go Taman Negara in November considering it to be the monsoon season. Why cant they have it in June?

I need my forest fix...

Woo-sah!

It has been 2 years since I went there. The climb to the peak was memorable. The trip down was even more legendary, complete with leech bites and 90degree-trail. Of course who could forget the river rafting? This time round, I am determined to climb the trees and free fall into the river. The officer didnt let us do it the previous time and so we had to just watch when the natives did it.

No no no..not this time, buddy.

Maybe there's blessing for it to be in November. I have ample time to prepare. Start climbing stairs and hills. Start running, for God's sake! Cause it is in November, I have to curb my Hari Raya feasting in October also. Ah...I can see it all happening.

Forget Jane.
I want to be Tarzan.

On a sidenote: I want to go Hawaii.

A thousand times goodnight, seafarers.

A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall

Until I get to sleep, I shall continue my verbal diarrhoea and continue being spaced-out-stoned at the same time.

Take this for example.

Student (on MSN): ms ed can we say that the society we r living now is a private autonomy one?

Ed: You can say anything you want as long as you have proof.

Student: Err...

Ed: Do you have proof that the society is a private autonomous one?

I cant help but sound like Yoda.
I need to get spacey more often.

Make the world go away

I have taken many many pills and yet, there's no sign of drowsiness. Instead, I feel a bit spacey right now. It's weird. I'm strumming my guitar, knocking back country songs. The only things missing are haystacks and pigs running around me.

It's almost midnight and I'm croaking Stand By Your Man.

"Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doin things that you don't understand
But if you love him
You'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man

Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
when nights are cold and lonely

Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man"

Seriously, what's in those pills?

Why cant I get to sleep?
I freaking need to sleep.

###

She came in through the bathroom window

My fever is down and the best thing is I have one more day to slack around.

I finally dragged my ass down to the clinic again yesterday at 1745hrs only to see the clinic closed. It would be re-opened at 1900hrs though. So I had dinner with the mother (couldnt finish the ban mian but I really needed something to fill the tummy) and then it was to the clinic once more.

The headache was getting unbearable again and the dry cough was escalating. I had to wait an hour to see the doctor and ..what..I was #8 in line! So long! From the way I coughed, I could have died there and then.

Doctor asked about the symptoms of dengue...but I didnt have diarrhoea and I havent vomitted. I only had stomach pains, head pains, chest pains, bad cough and high temperature. On top of that, my whole body was stiff and achy. But that's all.

"Come see me again on Saturday morning if your fever hasnt subsided."

Doc gave me antibiotics, cough syrup and more paracetamol. I can crush all the paracetamol that I have and make a dozen panadol cookies, I tell you. Now, that will keep the fever away. Who needs magic mushroom when you have panadol cookie?

Oh, doc gave me a further 2-day MC.

That means, I only get back to work on Saturday.

Past 2 days havent provided fruitful rest. I got knocked out before midnight cause I was heavily sedated and once the effect wore off at 0430hrs, I woke up. For the last couple of days, I've been walking around the house at 0500hrs looking for things to cool me down like cold water, fruits. And then, I would try and sleep, shivering for no reason. Couldnt sleep, so I popped more medicine. Woo-pee...

Yeah life has been crazy like that.

On top of that, I have to ward off distress messages from students. The Policy assignment is due tomorrow and many of them are frantic. I have already told them earlier that after the 12th, I would not entertain anyone but they still try.

And I am still succumbing.

Next time, I'll say "No more" and I'll mean it.

Now I have to tend to more of their emails.

Argh, work!!!

P/S: By the way, high fever really makes you delusional. I've seen and heard things I've never seen and heard before. I didnt know if I was awake or asleep.

Fly like a bird

Funny shit like this always make me feel better.

Down with bile medicine cause laughter is the best of them all.

By the way...I love love love love love David Cook's version of Always Be My Baby. And for Jason Castro, yes...I can always be in a luau with him and he can serenade me all day. Oh I dont want to cry, baby.

And I love Mimoo.

###

Don't let the sun go down on me

God has answered my prayers.

My gay father is coming!
My gay father is coming!
My gay father is coming!

I feel much better.

P/S: Am on MC till Friday.

So sick

Thanks Lauren for putting up the previous post.

Just had a screaming match with HR. I couldnt find the list of clinics which I could go to (under company's coverage) on the online portal and she kept on screaming "HR Online! HR Online!" Bloody hell. I could hear the first time round but where the fuck could I find "HR Portal"? She logged on and realised she didnt know also.

I can feel my temperature rising.

Luckily another person came to her and told her. And then, in a condescending manner she said,"There! Under MY COURSES!"

Nabei.
How would I know right, fuck?
nt
*breathes in*
*breathes out*

I reached home and almost collapsed. I went to the father who was in the living room and asked him to take me to the clinic. As I didnt want to pay out of my own pocket (I did before at Raffles Clinic - $55 - and it was unclaimable) I called Berry Berry Strawberry who stayed at Ave 10. He told me on near his place so the father and I took a cab there. 10 minutes to closing time...phew.

Temp was 38ec and doctor gave me panadol and something for flu.
I dont know what else she can give me but feel kind of cheated, can?
She said throat wasnt swelling...but I could hardly talk.

Oh well.

Temp now is 39c ... yes it just got worse. I am considering taking another MC cause I couldnt seem to get up. That was why I needed to know where the nearer clinics were (AMK) so that I wouldnt fucking faint halfway.

OKay enough.

The heat from Snow White isnt helping me at all.

See ya.

Ironic

I sit here shivering in the Mass Comm room, nursing my sandpaper throat, pneumonia-like cough, an escalating headache and heavy eyes. Am really feeling the pits. Aspirin is within reach but the consequences are not really desired. I have a class tonight.

Lunch is threatening to come up.
I can feel the tomato-ed penne dying to come out.

I slept early last night...unwittingly, of course. 10 hours and strangely it didnt seem enough. Eyes are heavier than having just 3hours of slumber.

Anyway, the word for today: LYNCHIAN

LYNCHIAN refers to a particular kind of irony where the very macabre (morbid; ghastly) and the very mundane combine in such a way as to reveal the former's perpetual containment within the latter.

So yes, there is something ghastly in our mundane everyday world like: frustration, greed, lust and diseases.

Of all the macabre in the world, I have to get the latter.

*weak smile*

Searching my soul

I like the way you wanted me
Every night for so long baby
I like the way you needed me
Every time things got rocky

I was believing in you
Was I mistaken
Do you say, do you say what you mean
I want our love to last forever

But I'd rather you be mean than love and lie
I'd rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I'd rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don't you break my heart slow

I like the way you'd hold me
Every night for so long baby
And I like the way you'd say my name
In the middle of the night
While you were sleeping

I was believing in you
Was I mistaken
Do you mean, do you mean what you say
When you say our love could last forever

Well I'd rather you be mean than love and lie
I'd rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I'd rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don't you break my heart slow

You would run around and lead me on forever
While I wait at home still thinking that we're together
I wanted our love to last forever
I was believing in you

Well I'd rather you be mean than love and lie
I'd rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I'd rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don't you break my heart slow - Vonda Shephard feat. Emily Saliers (of Indigo Girls)

...was just rummaging my music collection and found this one tucked in the corner of sentimentality. I kind of miss watching Ally McBeal. I can relate to it now that I am older.

So much older.

Don't look any further

The father went back to work today after more than 3-month hiatus. For his birthday, I did get something useful for his back-to-work day.

An Adidas bag, gentlemen's handkerchief (it's written on the packaging) and a card.

The card is now stuck to the decorative fake plastic flowers in the living room. Well at least he didnt throw it away.

Yesterday, we celebrated Fifi's birthday. Din, Wanyi and I took him to Swiss Culture so he could satisfy his cravings for cheese fondue. And choc fondue. On top of that, we got some stuff and I had some mushroom potato thingy...burp.

Was so full I could feel cheese oozing out of my every pore.
But...hope bitch liked it.
The fondue, not that part where cheese oozes out of my pore.

Happy (advanced) birthday, bitch!

From Suntec, we walked all the way to Robertson Quay. It's a damn long walk to digest the cheese and choc. We headed to O Bar where Yushan was already waiting for us.

Yushan, Wanyi and me...the latter too stuffed with cheese.

Birthday boy and Din.
It's the cheese.

Anyway, Yushan left us around 0100hrs and so, it was back to square one.

We burnt the dance floor with our uncoordinated moves
And no. No emo guys tonight, though
But it's okay.

But but but guess who I met?
Faintable, okay.

1. Former cadet from those Mayflower days --> Ehsan from Shahid's (Shadiq's brother) batch. He was the first one to wave enthusiastically in front of me cause I didnt notice anyone in the dark place. I was like..okay..move further, move further.

2. When the lights came out, ta-da, there was Mustaffa, my Higher Diploma student who is also a bouncer at One Night Stand.

Wonder how it felt for him to see his lecturer in there. Did he see me dance like a Siouxie possessed? I hope it was too dark and that I was too short (lost in the crowd).

Fifi,Din, Wanyi and I wobbled out of the club, joints aching. We sat by the river for a while watching people come out of Butter Factory, some barefeet, some pissed drunk, some hyper, some horny...I was just sleepy.

Crawled into the cab and reached home around 0430hrs(?). I made the mistake of choosing to read the papers before washing up. Bad move. I fell asleep on the floor while reading the papers...

...yeah, we've heard that before.

Anyway yeah that's my Saturday. Today I woke up, showered and sucked the contact lenses out of my eyeballs. Went to AMK Central at 1230hrs cause I had 2 students desperate for my help. Yeah...on a Sunday, at AMK Central with me still sleepy. You have to be really desperate for me to see you in my condition on a Sunday.

Sharinah and Meiling came and joined me around 1400hrs for a little chat. Sharinah also passed me my birthday present. Belated, I know...but argh, one of the best.

The present came in a cardboard packaging which looked like a coffin fit for a child. Hahahahaha.

"What's in the box?
Tell me what's in the box!" - Brad Pitt in Se7en

So yeah, bitch bought me a guitar for my birthday present.

It's not those great expensive ones, she said.

Oh it's okay! You have no idea how much I want one, cheap or expensive. With it, it ended my 8- year drought of being guitar-less. Thank you, babe!!!!!! Now I shall look for an ukelele when I get to New York.

Went home and started twanging on the guitar till my fingers almost bled. Need to develop those calluses back again haha. Unfortunately, the guitar wasnt tuned and I was really bad at tuning so I was strumming away to totally disgusting sounds. Never mind. I shall figure that out later. After all, I have the guitar with me and it's mine to keep.

Can tell the sister and her electric guitar to sod off. Hah!

Okay it's 0400hrs...isnt it time to sleep???

A thousand times goodnight, rock guitar maestros.

P/S: Susan, are you back already?

P/P/S: Liah are you back already?

Breaking the habit

Adrian was taunting me online when Arsenal scored. Mind you, I wasnt even gloating. I would punch his face if I could reach him cause I am god damn busy and tired and I dont need no goading from some idiots. I couldnt take it anymore. I couldnt take crap from a Blackburn supporter..considering they had been thrashed just now by Liverpool.

Adrian: (when Arsenal scored) Gol!!!
Ed: Yeah...
Adrian: [said something else not worth remembering]
Ed: Yeah...
Adrian: [something stupid again]
Ed: Why are you saying this when you didnt say anything just now when Blackburn lost?

He went quiet.

If you want to hate, reflect on yourself first can?

Pity Blackburn to have such a fan.

Fixing a hole

I am sorry but I cant help it. I blame Hitchcock's Vertigo and Forman's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest for this psychedelia, melancholia that is creeping in. I am tired and my mind's pretty messed up by the things I've been reading, watching and feeling lately.

Yes, I'm such a freaking method actor.

I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink
I wonder should get up and fix myself a drink
No no no

I'm so tired, I don't know what to do
I'm so tired, my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do

You'd say, I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got

For a little peace of mind

I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired, I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid git- Beatles

Am trying to watch the Man U-Roma match and work at the same time. Past few days have been spent like that. I couldnt go to bed cause I need to do work/study but I watched football cause I couldnt do work anyway. Mind went dead when I reached home.

And today yesterday was the father's birthday. I hate missing birthdays.

To make this trivial world sublime,
Take half a gram of phanerothyme.
To fathom Hell or soar angelic,
Just take a pinch of psychedelic.

Thought I ran a temperature just now. Checked it and found that I was still healthy being at 36.7c. Dammit. I just want to join Noreen at Tan Tock Seng and rest for a few days. I am that tired.

It's 0330hrs.
Back to work.

P/S: Have little bumps coming out on my head/scalp. Maybe they are pimples or rashes. Wait, they could just be psychological. Ants are building nests and laying eggs on my head. I am the eggman, you are the eggman, I am the walrus.

Wind beneath my wings

It's cheesy but I need it.

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me, oh

If I can see it, then I can be it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

Hey, cuz I believe in me, oh

If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothign to it

Hey, if I just spread my wings
I can fly
I can fly
I can fly, hey
If I just spread my wings
I can fly

###

All good things

We wish for a lot of things and people say not all wishes are achievable. Well they are wrong. Everything is achievable, it's just a matter of time.

And time, is what most of us do not have.

So, if you do have the time, go. Go do something cool or hip or even remotely useful. Do whatever you have ever wished to do.

Just go:
scale that mountain
dive that ocean
scream your heart out
sleep to your heart's content
drive that open road
study till your eyes pop out if that makes you happy
dance in the rain naked if you must
stare into the horizon cause someday you'll reach it

Just go.
You dont want to live a day of regret.

Am going to draw up a list tonight: Things I have to do before I turn 30. Nothing dramatic but God...little things are the hardest to do.

Things like:

- Smile at your freaking boss genuinely
- Greet everyone like you really mean it
- Buy someone gifts without hoping for anything in return
- Donate $5 to charity.

Work.

P/S: Tomorrow is the father's birthday. I look at the stuff I just bought for him. Rubbish compared to the amount of investment he did on me. Pooh.

###

Better in time

I am tired.
I am tired.
I am tired.

Freaking tired.

I havent had a break from work for more than 7 days, being my last off day was on March 31. I managed to drag myself to work on both Saturday and Sunday, fortunately didnt die along the way out of sheer exhaustion. After not sleeping at all on Saturday, I got home at around 1600hrs on Sunday and slept like a log till almost midnight.

Of course I had to sacrifice work and marking.
Bugger.

Anyway today, Noreen had to undergo a surgery...something related to her slipped disc. After work, I headed off to Raffles City to buy (expensive!!) flowers and then met up with Clara at the MRT. Weiling was already in Noreen's room when we got there. Oh Liah is currently in Turkey and couldnt be there just now.

Oh wait.
Noreen gave me my belated birthday presents.
Thanks babe.

More earrings!

The patient and me.
Get well, kid!

Clara, Weiling, Ed.

Our flowers.
Somehow, they pale in comparison to the rest of the flowers that Noreen got.

The lousy camera couldnt really capture the vibrancy of these bouquets.

My friends.

Get well soon, babe.

..
..
..

I passed Clara my passport particulars. Gave her $1800+ for the New York airfare too. Now, I am as poor as a church mouse. I'm so poor the bank has only 2 digits. It's not funny. Need to eat free grass now.

Awrite am damn tired and sleepy (and penniless) but...sigh... have to start studying for tomorrow's test. Remember last week I had to attend workshop? Yeah I have to sit for the test tomorrow. Kill me.

A thousand times goodnight, muggle muggers.
