Three words

My E71 has been dead for 2 days. I am still coping with not being able to surf on this old handphone which I am currently using. It's so outdated, the camera has no flash and there's no zoom function. On top of that, the battery keeps dying after 5 hours. Urgh.

Went KTV with Liah in the morning(11am!!) and by 1430hrs, I was at home, rolling around and mourning my loss. I didnt have the strength to do anything and by anything, I mean work. I just moped around and ..rolled.

Yes, the laptop is here but it's different. The feeling of having the world in your palm is just amazing.

Loser, I know.

...

Oh well, here's a little bit of Cheryl Cole to cheer me up. She's a freaking goddess, man!

Not a fan of Will.I.Am but...I'll excuse him this time round.

Midnight...time to do work.

P/S: I am going KL with the mother and Lexie this Good Friday weekend. Taking super coach, staying in a nice hotel and flying back on a plane. Life.

Alejandro

I still hate my job and if not for my bills, I'll quit this Monday and then get a mohawk.

But I still have bills to pay and my hair is too weak to hold a mohawk.

So I enslave myself again.

Fuck my life and yours.

P/S: Oh I broke my no-Coke campaign at work yesterday. I had no choice. Rat poison wasnt available.

Waiting to exhale

I hate my job and my phone is dead.

The phone has been going a little bit crazy and ...it just died on me. I had my charger with me and hoping that it's just flat, I charged it. But it has been 30 minutes and I still cant switch it on. So...yeah. Dead.

As for work...you know the shit, and then some.

###

i see you baby

To the cute guy I saw on the train,

Hey, you've got a really nice.....watch.

You're no good

My dear Italian dreamboat of a blog,

It's not personal. It's not like I'm taking time out having fun with other 'outlets'. True, I've got Mr Twitter and Mr Facebook but they get a bit more of my attention because it's easier to get to them via my mobile phone.

Will it make you feel better to know that I havent switched on my laptop for the past 4 days? Yes, I've been that busy at work and when I get home, I usually fall asleep before you can even scream 'Or-ga-sm!''

It's slightly past 1 in the morning and I think I shall get back to marking. I cannot imagine going back to my typhoon-hit work desk tomorrow. It has been a very disgusting week. Can't wait for next week...long weekend with payday topping it all.

...sigh.

P/S: Oh! I caught The Lovely Bones on Monday and boy, at one point, I was so scared I actually covered my face with a scarf and actually asked Meiling to kill me so as to end my anxiety.

Working my way back to you

Ewok saw me eating brunch and she went ballistic knowing that it was overnight food. She went on and on saying that it's not good and all. I was arguing that I had no qualms with that as long as it hadnt gone bad. It's just rice with soup, for fuck sake.

I grew up like this. We used to eat the same food for lunch, dinner and the next day's breakfast. Maybe there's nothing else to eat or because the mother was working and so we were left to eat whatever's there. Usually last time, it's just rice and a dish...nothing fancy.

So yes, I find there's nothing wrong. Of course it's unhealthy but hey...I am not having it everyday. The mother decided to cook last night (which is a rare occassion) and I find it a waste if it's thrown unfinished. So...yeah.

Maybe...it's just a Malay kampong thing. Afterall, you can take a girl out of a kampong, but you cant take the kampong out of a girl.

P/S: I was so pissed with Ewok I actually said, ''Fine! We'll see who die first!''

Vanilla twillight

Idiot reads my blog. Am thinking of password-ing it but...I hate the secrecy behind it. Plus, I like the idea of having strangers stumbling across my blog and have a little moment reading something silly. Just not this idiot, though.

Oh well.

Went to Zouk last night. The night was organised by my graduating students. Sorry, by my rich graduating students. VIP passes, private booth, free-flow of soft drinks and endless booze. It was madness. The party only lasted 3 hours from midnight cause most of them were gone by the 2nd hour. Tsk tsk tsk. Seriously...these young people.

Didnt take many photos cause the mobile phone/camera acted up.
Pictures were cloudy as most of their judgements.

So, last Wednesday was my last full-time proprietary class for this semester. It was our documentary film presentation day so almost everyone was present. On top of that, we also had a Cambridge University auditor sitting in for a while.

Most of the kids turned up in their class T-shirts as an act of camaraderie. On top of that, the Cambridge University said we were phenomenal and she was so amazed by the student-lecturer spirit. Ahem.

After their film screening, I managed to show my badly edited "docu-drama" which was put together in 30 minutes. There were some errors in there but oh well..just for lark. It did induce some tears in the house though.

So yay, one semester down and God knows how many more to go.
Hopefully not many, cause I'm getting tired.

...

Aouwwwahawwoowww. My body is aching. It's getting harder to recuperate instantly after a night out. One of the many signs of old age and "depreciation", no?

Talking about old age (yeah, what a segue), on the 13th, managed to celebrate the encore of Weiling's and Clara's birthdays once again. We headed to Eatzi @ Safra Yishun in the evening and stayed there till late.

Oh, very early this month, there was the mother's birthday. Got her, the sister and the cousin out to Seoul Garden for some bbq-loving.

The camera phone hasnt been all right since then. Think the smoke had gotten into it and thus, the rest of March has been plagued with bad pictures. Crap.

And finally...earlier this month, I also made 2 new purchases online. Managed to snag a good deal from a Kate Spade seller and also, an online sale of Kenneth Cole watch.

Bag pictures taken off Google.
My phone camera has gone all whack.

All right, it's almost 0330hrs and I need to get me some sleep.
Till next time, auf wiedersein.

P/S: Watched Agathe Clery recently and well, it's the funniest shit I've seen recently :)

I've got the power!

My blog
My poor, neglected blog.

Haven't been feeling top of the world lately. As usual, work is taking up my time. The irony is that I am thinking about work so much that it is actually affecting my work. How do you prioritise things which are have the same importance? Like The Gulag would say..everything is Super Urgent.

Super urgent, my ass.
My sanity is super duper fucking urgent, okay.
If...only she knew.

I have been Coke-free for a month and I dont even know why am I imposing this on myself. Was 1 can of Coke a day an addiction? No, right? So why am I imposing it onto myself?

You know why...this is just like anorexia WITH a twist. Anas believe that when things in their lives go out of control, they can still be in command of their diet. They can still control their food intake (or lack there of). In my case, it's impossible to go without food. Common sense tells me it's going to be harder because of my body. So, I want control but I dont want hunger and so...what I can control is the type of thing I eat. And out of all the things I eat, I can control my Coke intake.

Are you still with me?
No.
It's okay.

Basically, I am just pushing myself for no other reason but "self empowerment" in terms of rejecting Coke. Those cans in the vending machines can eat dust.

Or maybe, they can just wait for a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll have enough of the green tea which I have been consuming every freaking day. Yes, it's goodbye Coke and hellooooo green tea. Funny. A year ago, I wouldnt even dream of putting those weird-smelling beverage down my throat. Now, I'm consuming it every day.

Why am I so extreme?

Gah!

Note to God

If I wrote a note to God
I would speak what's in my soul
I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away
For love to overflow

If I wrote a note to God
I'd pour my heart out on each page
I'd ask for war to end
And for peace to mend this world
I'd say
I'd say

Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on

If I wrote a note to God
I'd say please help us find a way
End all the bitterness, put some tenderness
In our hearts

Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from you

Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on

No
No
We can't do it on our own
So
So

(Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue)
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help

Grant us the faith to carry on
Hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on

If I wrote a note to God

I'm already there

Long day and I'm so tired.

Hung out for a while after work last night...getting home slightly before midnight. Knocked out and woke up in a panic at 0330hrs because I hadn't prepared my lesson. Have been up since then. Went to NPCC at 0800hrs and then to work at 1030hrs because I squeeze an extra class for my university bridging students.

It's almost 1700hrs and I am still at work because I am supposed to meet Weiling, Clara and Liah at Yishun Safra for dinner later at 1900hrs and it's too late to go home. Too much of a hassle.

I am really hungry and..damn..damn..sleepy.

Hanging on the telephone

I've been waiting for this clip for so long and now that it's out, I am thinking...how on earth are they going to rehash this for TV.

And Beyonce (!!) ...kwa kwa kwa...respect.

I thought the earlier part of the clip was crap. Personally felt that the prison scenes were so contrived and if I did not like the song and the visual vomit that is Gaga, I wouldnt definitely be digging it. Then...Beyonce came out all Tura Satana-like and damn, I'm hooked. It's such a lovely pop art tribute to Thelma & Louise and ... hohohohoho... one of my favourite B-grade flicks ever, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Ever!

Fools, dont believe the above MTV by Gaga is of an original idea, okay? It's so inspired by the bloody Tarantino's grindhouse concept and of course, Russ Meyer's sexploitation consciousness. Non-originality aside, let's take it with much humour and campiness.

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Sexploitation and zomg humour!
I'm such a geek.

P/S: Of course I dont support the objectification of women...but come on, it's funny! (Referring to Faster, Pussycat) No one forced these girls to subject themselves like this. It's their own free will. If we were to stop them from expressing themselves like that, then...we are restricting their human rights.

P/P/S: Moral of the story...if you want to get naked and roll around in mud with another girl, just do it.

The weary kind

I am so happy that Mo'Nique won for Best Supporting Actress. I saw clips and I think, my God, she's scaaaaaaaary. I'm stopping myself from watching it online cause I need to see it at Cathay. Need to.

Anyway, yes, am at home watching The Oscars and no, no clear favourites for me because I love them all. Just one thing though, I think Avatar is over-rated and should not win Best Picture. Ah, am not feeling Sandra Bullock winning Best Actress also. Am rooting for Carey
Mulligan or the Sidebe girl from Precious.

But ah...we shall see.
They are all worthy.

Okay. Back to TV.

P/S: Watched Crazy Heart last night and it was good!

P/S/S: Damn you, Jack Neo!

Help me make it through the night

Man U is 1 up against Wolverhampton. Yay!

Got back about 2 hours ago from Stereolab. Rae managed to get us in for the Time Out birthday party and well, nice place. Music's not bad but I guess I was tired also. Before that, we three caught the Kumar show at the Esplanade.

We caught the matinee performance. The show started at about 1500hrs and it was over around 1.5 hours later. It was short, definitely. Though there were some funny shit, I felt some parts were quite contrived. Maybe those were the parts written by Miyagi. Anyway, I was quite a fan of Kumar and followed him since the days of The Rara Show (RA! RA!) during my Sec 1 days (Liah and I rushed to MediaCorp in our school uniform!) and when I turned legal, I went to the Boom Boom Room countless of times. After that, I occasionally caught him performing at odd places here and there and sadly, I think many of his jokes had been rehashed ad nauseum. Like the political jokes...predictable, man.

But you know, when Kumar talked about himself, his family and his life, that's when the magic happened. Flashes of brilliance, man.

So yeah...that's my Saturday. Yesterday was a hectic day with class in the morning and working at the education/career fair from 1430hrs to 2000hrs. Could barely walk after that.

.....

Let's recap interesting things happened last few days.

On Thursday 25th Feb, the students organised a little belated birthday thingy for Irda. Kinda sweet, though. Haha.

The following day, a few of the students dragged me out after work for lo hei. It was the first time after many years, man. Think the last time I had it was at ShitNPee. Anyway, I managed to drag Abbie along. Being a Filipino, she found the tossing of raw salmon salad quite interesting.

We adjourned to MOF @ Raffles City for more dessert-loving after that. And you know what, after a crazy Friday at work, stuff like these - food tossing and ice cream - made things a-okay.

27th Feb saw me heading to Clara's place after work. Managed to buy a birthday cake and ..haha..yusheng thingy again for us to lo hei. Liah and bf soon came and then, we set off to Weiling's place at Sembawang.

Hahah! Check out the following clips where we tossed the fish and salad...and oh, all those wishes!

When Clara's bf came, we did the cake cutting for Weiling and Clara. Welcome to the World of 30, ladies.

The following day, Sunday 28th Feb, the brother, sister-in-law and the nieces came to AMK and we had dinner at Charco's. I guess it was an early birthday dinner for the mother. Ribs!

And with that...February ended.
Grrr.

........

It's 15 minutes past 5am on a Sunday and Joaquin Phoenix is still singing as Johnny Cash (I love Johnny Cash, by the way!) on TV. I need to be at Suntect at 1500hrs later because of my career/education fair duty. Rememer? I have to be there till 2000hrs and thus, I'll have to miss Paramore concert, remember? Dammit.

Later.
More on what March has brought.

P/S: Caught Alice In Wonderland just now and I liked it. It's less morbid compared to other Burton fare and the lead, Alice, was stiffly characterised, but...you know, overall, it was generally all right. Of course we have Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter to thank for. Saviours. Off with their heads...not.

P/P/S: I know, I know...the picture quality is not very good here in this blog. But hey...my phone has a sucky camera but I dont have money to buy an actual camera. Hah.
