Damn bo liao

Okay, you know you're pathetic when you cry after reading Walt Disney's biography.

Work has got to be more productive than this.

My Annual Oddity

For some strange reasons, i had The Blower's Daugher and Cannonball on a loop. When the former hit its 5th round, i had goosebumps when Damien Rice hit the high notes.

I am gonna puke melancholy and glum will soon be oozing out of my ears. My vision is despondent and my touch is cold.

Why this lack of euphoria?

I think it's the weather. I'm always like this come year-end.I think Christmas gives me the sidewalk blues. I dont know why since i am not a Christian celebrating Christmas. It's like every November/December, my old soul resurfaces and it just want to sit on a rocking chair and look at the brewing storm above the choppy sea.

I will just sit and rock my afternoon away. For some strange reasons too, I imagine a big dog (a golden retriever) sitting at my feet, trying to figure out what the hell I'm looking at.

i will see bolts of lightning and hear the soft murmurs of the distant claps of thunder. But they wont faze me as I continue rocking into the red night sky, hoping to catch glimpses of the brightest stars.

The next day, I'll do it again.

Am I looking at my future?
Am I 25 going on 26 (real soon!) going on 77?
Most importantly, will Sinatra still be singing in 2057?

Happy Belated Birthday Mickey Mouse!

My new book requires a picture of Walt Disney. I have spent 30 minutes surfing the Disney website and playing the cute game.

Then i remembered i had to look for a picture.

Then i got distracted by the history of Walt Disney even though the fonts were super small, hurting my eyes.

Now I feel very Disney-wise.

La Tristessa Durrera

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted to one time see you laughing
I only wanted to see you laughing in the purple rain

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
I only wanted to see you bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend
Baby, I could never steal you from another
It's such a shame our friendship had to end

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
I only wanted to see you underneath the purple rain

Honey, I know, I know, I know times are changing
It's time we all reached out for something new
That means you too
You say you want a leader
But you can't seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
I only want to see you

Only want to see you
In the purple rain
- Purple Rain, Prince

The rain..the slow ride to work..Purple Rain. All lead to melancholy and the infinite sadness.

Lauren and I bused down to Terminal 1 after work last night. After a nice dinner, we went to Row 8 and met Ida Nuryati, her family and her little bambino. She still looked the same…except her style changed. Maybe it was just last night. She was wearing this hideous “nursing” blouse reminded me of all the Ah Sohs in my neighbourhood. *Shudder* But there was a maternal blissfulness radiating from her face. Well, I will have it too if my baby is gorgeous…which Rykir is. In a weird Cabbage Patch-y kind of way. Well babies are cute now….ask me again when they have soiled themselves, wailing and started talking.

Anyway, I met Ida’s parents and they seemed to look different now. Younger.

“Well, when we were in poly, everyone else looked older because we were very young.” (Lauren)

True. Then now, we should all dig a big hole and hide ourselves in it because friends’ parents are beginning to look younger to us. I was hoping to meet Ida’s younger brother but that boy was still on his way. Lauren and I decided to go off at around 2130hrs. Perhaps, we’ll meet Ida again in 2 years’ time…when she’ll be back hopefully for good.

The ride back to Ang Mo Kio was long but we both entertained ourselves with lots of risqué racist jokes. Well, we had to do it. The journey seemed long and never ending.

I was thinking of bringing forward the NY trip. However, it seems not feasible. Nani has her EPL duties and Sha has school. Oh well, we’ll tackle this a day at a time. In the mean time, I have to tell the mother that I cannot attend Kak Jana’s wedding this Sunday because I have to work. I have to cover a Barbie event at Hotel Inter-Continental this Sunday. I MUST wear pink!

Anyway…

Q:When do you know that somebody is the one, Mona?

Lying alone
Touching my skin
I'm falling under
A girl like me
And I can't hold it in
It makes me wonder

Is this for real?
It's not what it seems
You're like an angel
I'm running now
My feet off the ground
Take me
Touch me
Won't you hold me close?

And then we kiss
Your love comes alive on my lips
I feel a rush
Coming over me, over me
And when we touch
This moment when everything's still
I close my eyes
And then we kiss

The feel of your hand
As it touches my hair
It makes me tremble
Don't wanna let go
Of the feelings we share
So baby, go slow

Our hearts beating fast
And my body cries
I want it to last
It's burning inside
We're getting deeper

You're drifting
The sun comes up
You're fading
You seem so far
I don't know
If I'm awake
Open my eyes
And then we
We kiss...

And then we kiss
And then we kiss
And when we touch
This moment when everything's still
I close my eyes
And then we kiss

I cancelled the movie date with Sharinah because i think i want to see Ida before she flies back to Korea. But, right now, i am having second thoughts because it looks like i am going alone. Yeah..so much for dinner and gathering.

I am so tempted not to go but man, I dont even know when I'll ever get to see the Dragon again. It will just be a quick "Hey Ida!" I didnt even bring my camera!

Besides Mona, you always like to go to the airport. And you always love some time alone.

Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît pas

"The heart has reasons that reason knows not of."
Now...isnt that nice?

The wild flowers I picked during lunchtime some time back are beginning to wither here on my office desk. They are looking all autumn-willowy beside my African porcelain/cement/whatever doll which was given by Medy before she left for Perth. It’s a freaking heartbreak. One reminds me that life is a struggle and full of hardships while the other tells me that all things pretty die.

I start my Tuesday with a big dose of Frank Sinatra’s romance. Now, my soul is feeling so fluttery and old school. But there’s a part of me that is beginning to feel a tinge of sadness. Sinatra had that melancholic effect, I tell you.

..but i still like the cliched red rose.

Anyway,

I am still stoned. I was up till 0430 last night watching To Kill A Mockingbird with my sister. I love stories with social/moral issues. Harper Lee wanted to depict the struggle between the White men and the Coloured Men and she wanted to bring the topic of injustice and racism into the picture. But, living in those times of racial segregation herself, there was just so much she could do. This is my assumption so don’t ring the town alarm bell or something. That’s why To Kill A Mockingbird will never be my favourite masterpiece. The ending is just too blasé. Innocent black guy escapes gallows but is shot dead…guilty white man is free but eventually dies in a scuffle. It’s like a token death.

Mentioning token deaths, I am so tempted to buy Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin, Strike and October (I've seen all 3 by the way... mind boggling, i tell you and i still have nightmares) from the pasar malam. However, I am afraid that I will soon turn into a communist if I own them.

Okay enough.
Too much thinking hurts my brain.
I’m supposed to be stoning.

Went to the gym last night and for the first time, I ran beyond 2.5 km. Pound! Pound! Pound! After the whole session ended, I barely could make it up the stairs to the changing room. But it did feel good … although my limbs are still in shock.

When I was walking along the Orchard sidewalk with Lauren, the excited Ting called me and was squealing through the handphone. She was telling me that so-and-so from ESPN was gonna call regarding the EPL gameshow and she told me to *ahem* get ready. She prepped me on what to say and babe, thank you, man! I think we now have a fairly good chance, thanks to you.

So-and-so asked and hah, I got it all right *wink*.

Q: Who’s the chairman of Aston Villa?
A: Err..err…Doug Ellis
Q: Who’s the record EPL goal scorer?
A: Hmm…Alan Shearer.
Q: Upton Park is the home team to which team?
A: West Ham!
Q: Which team is nicknamed The Cottagers?
A: Shit..Fulham?
Q: What’s the name of Arsenal’s new stadium?
A: mmm..mmm…Emirates Stadium?
Q; Who is Newcastle’s latest record signing?
A: This is easy. Michael Owen!

Phew! Thank God so-and-so didn’t ask me extra questions. Like who is the chairman of Portsmouth…etc.

Anyway, we’ll see how. So-and-so said our chances of getting in was quite high. If so, Ting and I had to take a week’s leave in January. Man…a week’s leave is kind of too much, right? Especially when I have only 15 days to start with…? I am nervous just thinking about it. Will try to brush that aside, though … after all that's January’s problem.

Once in a while along the way
Love's been good to me

There was a girl in Denver
Before the summer storm
Oh, her eyes were tender
Oh, her arms were warm
And she could smile away the thunder
Kiss away the rain
Even though she's gone away
You won't hear me complain

Hiked a hundred highways
Never found a home
Still in all I'm happy

Why God Still Love Me...

Last Friday, my supervisor and I walked out of the office together. I was heading to town and he...God knows where.

Supervisor: So, are you coming tomorrow?
The Mona: What's happening tomorrow?
Supervisor: Aiyah, the company's excursion lah.
The Mona: Oh..the wine appreciation thingy, right?
Supervisor: Yeah, clever.
The Mona: Nope. I dont see the point. I dont drink.
Supervisor: You dont drink?
The Mona: I've never.
Supervisor: How can? Must try at least once!
The Mona: It's okay.
Supervisor: Can you just have one vice? One vice, only?

Man.
How would he know that I'm vice-less?

And come on!
Did i miss out anything by not going?

Actually I did.
I missed out watching IT drunk and making a fool out of herself. In front of many other colleagues!

Not that I want to witness that sorry sight.

Only on the left side, cause it's the Crib side

Argh! What a painful weekend and getting up for work today was a real pain in the ninny. ..mumblemumblegrumblegrumblemoansighwhine..

See these pictures from Saw II?

Very babi, right? I couldn’t take it, man…almost passed out.
Wait, maybe I did!

Like Lauren had mentioned, we did go to the gym BUT we didn’t work out. We just took a shower, then a food court dinner and then off we went to Balestier Plaza for the movie. We came in 10 minutes late but the movie had not started yet. Why? Because Zach Braff Shan Wee was having same lame games with the rest of the audience…who were mostly unaffected couples. But since it’s the Wee-Man, it was bearable. :)

The first movie got me so hooked and terrified at the same time. I did feel sleepy when it ended…Lauren even asked if I was still up for the second one. She herself was terrified and was grabbing my hand like nobody’s business. She likes me.

The second movie started very slowly. I think I nodded off at the beginning. The gore was there…but I think the plot was much better in the first instalment. Much, much better.

We then took a long walk to Thomson Road and then cabbed back home. I slept at 0400hrs (reading some magazines) and 2 hours later, I was up. Yes, 2 hours!

Tell me about it.

Meiling and I dragged ourselves to Thomson Road..to the Police Training Command for the NPCC Campcraft Competition briefing at 0745hrs. I was super super stoned and was drifting in and out of consciousness throughout the whole briefing. I almost fell off the chair if Meiling didn’t put her arms around me. Heh. What’s with these women, seriously!

Went lunch @ Bishan..went back home…slept from 1500hrs to 1830hrs. Somehow I was distracted by the Malay musical Muzika Ekstravaganza (or something like that) and had no time to shower. So in my smelly unwashed state, I headed down to Zouk.

(Ed's Note: At this juncture, an ubiquitous trance/techno music is ringing alarmingly in my head. Quick, get me light sticks!)

Met up with sharinah and we met weewee and her boyfriend at Zouk. Her ang moh friends were already there, queuing and were almost at the door. Weester and I got our passes and jumped queue…by joining her friends. No one stopped us or attempted to. Must be because of the ang mohs. Lucky the bouncers didn’t stop us from going in. But even if they stopped us, trust me, I would not kick up a bloody BIG FUSS like a certain local “celebrity”..xiaxue.

Oh…explain to me again how did Eileen Wee become famous? And oh, kudos to the bouncers. If I were in their shoes, I wouldn’t let anyone almost-famous got in scot-free either. Unless they’re Colin Farrell or Paris Hilton. Even then, they have to be nice. Or, recogniseable.

Anyway, weester left soon after…and then, all hell broke lose.

Girls 1 Losers 0
We were shuffling (because it was so crammed) when a group of malay mats came over and tried to squirm their way between sharinah and me. Those very young boys obviously thought they had lived long enough so they decided to “test” us by pulling our hands. Hah, wrong move, losers. Sharinah managed to smack one hand off and I did a little karate-chop. A very subtle one, okay! After that, we girls did a Paris/Nikki Hilton by just sticking damn close. Defeated, they walked away.

God.
We were so relieved. So much so, we began to dance like the Wayans on White Chicks.

Girls 2 Losers 0
Then out of nowhere, another group of kids came out and this time, it seemed like they were challenging. “Fuck, now what?” I groaned. It was not even 0030hrs and we were already tired of the crap. Like I mentioned, we were dancing like some orbit White Chicks then this group of “hiphop” guys came and wanted a “duel”? But somehow, they finally went away. And we…well, we got swept away by the crowd and landed in a new corner…for the umpteenth time.

Girls 2 High Man 1
As we were shuffling still, I felt a bum shaking vigorously down my back. I turned around and saw this huge ass giant man in office wear dancing to 50c. The Chinese man was obviously drunk. However, his friend was there and he was nice; apologising and all. So we just moved away slightly. Only because his friend was nice.

Girls 3 Losers 0
Damn. Another group. Refer to (Girls 1 Losers 0)

Damn irritating. No doubt I like Phuture…but when I am there, I remember why I avoid it in the first place. Les enfants terrible!

Our final escapade saw us having 2 sweet Chinese girls following us around. One kept dancing real close to me (at one point, she was literally stuck to me) and the other kept smiling at Sharinah. Damn, why do I always get this from women?

At 0245hrs, we couldn’t take the heat and our legs were giving way. I met Deli outside and he almost pulled me back into the club. Sorry, man…I’m getting too old for this. Sharinah and I then took a painfully slow walk to Mohd Sultan. There I met a couple of friends again. Couldn’t keep a conversation because I was too tired and deaf and incoherent. On the bus, we couldn’t sleep. We were just stoned.

Strangely, after a shower, I was wide awake. It was almost 0500hrs. I did a bit of reading and finally went to bed at 0700hrs with aching limbs. Slept all the way till 1530hrs, dead to the world.

Sunday sunday sunday...
Was 30 minutes late in meeting Liah. I was so sorry…damn lethargic and ultra sleepy still even though the meeting time was 1830hrs. Didn’t realise the MRT took an hour to reach Queenstown too. It took me 45 minutes to go buona vista in the morning.

Anyway, she was quite moody because I was late and because work gave her crap. I was still stoned so we didn’t talk much on the bus to IKEA. Thank God she lightened up once we were there.

I bought her the birthday gift…a full-length mirror.

And boy, I’ve never seen anyone so happy getting a mirror. My best friend is self-obsessed!

I almost bought this one

Then I remembered I had a full-length mirror at home and I didn’t want to be the self-obsessed best friend either. So I bought a quilt instead. I was too cheap to buy a quilt cover…I think I will ask the mother to make one instead.

After BK dinner, we took a cab back to Ang Mo Kio. We stopped at her car park and I helped her carry her stuff to the lift. Then I walked back home…still hobbling from the previous night’s clubbing.Tsk tsk tsk..

But first, I HAD to stop at the pasar malam. There was this stall selling VCD/DVDs. It had a corner selling damn old movies at $5 each. I picked out Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon only to be told by the ah beng seller that the movie didn’t have English subtitles. Wah bloody fucker!

In the end I bought Citizen Kane and To Kill A Mockingbird . I spent a damn long time there. I had to choose between A Streetcar Named Desire or TKAMB. In the end, I bought the latter. I would love to buy all those classics by James Stewart, Marilyn Monroes and Audrey Hepburn. Heck, I was even tempted to buy Jesse James and How The West Was Won.

"Rosebud."

Then I went home and realised a mistake on the TKAMB DVD cover. It read:

GREGOTY PECK!

Chee bye!

P/S: The one-minute tribute applause to George Best was somewhat touching. Anyway, it was a great match and now, we’re second! We’re second!

Things that make you go hmmmmmm...

I am so sleepy.

Had my art briefing for Higher Malay @ MOE this morning. R, my chief director, came along and once it was over (around 1300hrs!!), she treated me to NYDC down at Holland V. We stayed there for about 1.5 hours and then another 1 hour on the road because she didn’t know her way around or missing turns. We went past Holland V and Bukit Timah twice, ended up at Orchard Road and then CTE back to Braddell. But hey, who is rushing back to work anyway??

“Even though our birthdays come first, it doesn’t mean that we are older.” (Lauren Lee Pei Yee)

HUH?
EXACTLY!

Thank God the fondue didn’t squirt out of my nose upon hearing that. I felt disappointed. I didn’t expect her, one of the smarter Moonies (come on..not all of us took A Maths and scored ‘B’ for Statistics!), to come up with such a heartbreaking bimbo statement. Hahahahahahahaa. But good. Bimbos are a great fun to be around. Woohoo!

Sha, Lauren and I had this last night. We impromptu-ly met up for dinner at Suntec and then we adjourned to the Esplanade’s Haagen Dazs. Ice-cream is always nice…even though, it gives me brain-freezing moments. No wonder I am getting more stupid by the day.

So, upon Sha’s recommendation, we are going to try Max Brenner’s chocolate fondue next. Maybe this time, we’ll get Mail, another choco freak, to join us.

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar…also at Esplanade. I heard their Israel-imported (huh???) soufflé is to die for. Is it? How many Palestinians and Israelites have died from it?

Lame..lame.

Oh well. Not much input today. Dah tak ada modal! I still cant believe Ismail saw Kui Jien and that nani got to shake his … hand. Hands off, bitch! That Malaysian is mine! Har..right.

And of course, the other favourite Chinese Malaysian male is..no, not Kenny Sia.. the slightly gayish-looking Vince Chong!

Oh well. I told Lauren that I will put pictures of Shan Wee and Zach Braff side by side to show the similarities. But I think I’ll post it next week. Too many guys on this entry already. Errr…actually there’s only 2.

All right. Have a good weekend, peeps. Going to the gym for a while and after that, to Balestier Plaza to catch the SAW marathon. Gonna watch Saw 1 and Saw 2 with Lauren (again!), courtesy of Meiling.

Seriously, where else can you find chocolate fondue, cute Malaysian guys, blood and gore in one website???

But suicide is painless...

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was exhilarating, And yes..i did read (or rather, skim) the book.

I thought it was brilliant…the cinematography, at least. But yes, I find it a bit hurried and at certain times, didn’t make any sense. But oh well, it pulls the audience into the world of Hogwarts definitely. For 2.5 hours, I forgot to close my mouth and my jaws dropped to the floor…and badly holding a pee.

Next stop, like Mail and Chin Han, it’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. I’ve never thought that I would come to a point where I like to watch kids save the world.

Urgh.
Yeah.

I’ve finally paid Mail for the flight and accommodation at Pulau Tiga, Sabah. What? Yeah, I decided to gatecrash his exotic threesome holiday and risk turning it into an orgy. We are going to leave for Sabah on the 9th and come back on the 12th.

We’re not going to climb Mount K (although I am sure I’ll catch a glimpse) and instead, we’ll be boating off to Pulau Tiga, the Borneo island (Borneo is the 3rd largest island in the world, by the way) made famous by the Survivor shows.

I’m joining Mail, Farhana and Nazmi, whom has already made a disclaimer that he hates anything strenuous. Oh boy.

Oh..the Queen E is not well. I’m donating my RENT money to her cause. So now I cant watch Karen Mok in a story about bohemian New Yorkers. Damn.

Got this from KC, who is so disillusioned at work. He’s the office political activist by the way and man…he’s like the office hero.

It says:
The Photo in the mail is the "Pulitzer prize" winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan famine. The picture depicts a famine stricken child crawling towards a United Nations food camp, located a kilometre away.

The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat it. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographe Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken.

Three months later he committed suicide due to depression.

Kevin Carter
1960 - 1994

Depressing, isn’t it? In this truly unaffected world, it’s touching to see someone who strongly empathised with the plights of the forgottens. We cant even empathise our parents, let alone, others.

Empathy led Carter to depression and eventually, death. A bad ending to a noble light. I bet he must have felt hopeless and disturbed. I bet many thoughts came to his mind: how would it be if it was me in front of that vulture? If it’s my wife? My child? My parents? Who can help me before I just dry up and die?

I realize. Empathy is not for everyone.

Dieting is a bitch, isnt it?

I didnt eat fast food for a month...
I reduce my food intake...
i dont snack at work anymore...
I didnt take fizzy drinks for almost 2 weeks already...
I dont do supper...
I exercise at least twice a week...

Then why the hell did i gain 1.5 kilo?  Argh!
i gorged myself during the earlier part of Hari Raya and nothing happened. And when i do the above, i gained weight?

Surely God has a way

The hems of my jeans are wet, no thanks to the muddy field that I have to cross every day to work. My pink Pumas are now soaked and muddy. God, I ABHOR the journey to work every day. ’Abhor’ is actually an understatement!

The day the field becomes like this, I’ll quit IMMEDIATELY. No qualms.

Caught Chicken Little last night...

And guess who is the *ahem* man behind that chicken voice? It’s the voice of my favourite Shan Wee Zach Braff!! Numa numa iei…numa numa numa iei…

Zach Braff looking..old.

The show is hilarious ONLY if you can get the jokes. The kids’ fascination with the fowls can dwindle a bit because the characters banter in a very modern pop-culture-ish language. MONA LIKES!

So…watch it. But, leave those kids at home because there is just so much explanation you can do in the theatre. Like, how can you explain the Pig’s fascination with diva singers like Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor….why the names of the magazines were funny…bla bla. But then again, I don’t think kids think so much about it. They only love it when Chicken Little loses his pants!

We are so dead and I am so sleepy.

We finally had the MT editorial meeting just now. I’m so glad that the not-so important people (me, lah!) were allowed to go off a.s.a.p. Otherwise, Pak Wim, Maran and I would be bored to death should the rest rattled away in Greek-sounding Chinese.

Anyway, yeah…I’ve just being officially assigned the Higher Tamil package and I’ve to work closely with Maran. Die! I’m so gonna have a hard time because I really cant fathom his thick native southern Indian accent. Most of the times, I’d go:

“Oh really?”
"Oh, yeah!"
"Ah, I see."
"Oh okay..."
"Ya ya.."

Mentioning colleagues…I was so penniless I had to borrow 60c from Nurraizan to buy instant noodle from the vending machine. And it’s payday today…Hah.

Meiling, Lauren and I were at Capitol’s Long John Silver’s last night dissecting the life of another human being. See..it’s sad, isn’t it? Don’t know what’s going on in women’s brains…convoluted and sometimes, totally irrational. But yeah…it’s always easy to speak/criticise when you’re outside of the circle looking in. God knows what I would do if I were to be in her position.

Girlfriend, I can never understand what you are going through but that doesn’t stop me from feeling your pain. I just have to let you know that things wont and cant stay the same no matter how much you want it to be.

Maybe I cant keep you sane anymore. I really don’t know. I cannot guarantee that I’ll be that rock forever. And when you eventually get married to that creature, I simply cant imagine fitting in the picture anymore. It’s not that I am jealous of him having you. I just cant stand the way he treats you…manipulates you…abuses you….how he deprives you from the much happiness he cannot provide. And I cant comprehend how you like getting all those shit. It certainly looks like it because you’re marrying him.

You are not anybody’s saviour. Not your dad’s, your brother’s…most importantly, not his. So stop thinking about them for one teeny moment and think about yourself. I’m afraid that instead of pulling him over, you’ll join him in the dark side. Now it seems like I don’t have faith in you…but after what has happened, can you 100% blame me?

Everything seems so gloomy now.
Please please please please wake up.

Yeah, it hurts.

Think of me
Think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me once in a while
Please promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment spare a thought for me

We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things we've shared and seen
Don't think about the way things might have been

Think of me
Think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me
Trying too hard to put you from my mind
Recall those days
Look back on all those times
Think of the things we'll never do
There will never be a day when I won't think of you

Flowers fade
The fruits of summer fade
They have their seasons so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think of me

Pulled the trigger now he's dead

God. My body is aching so bad now.

Went to the gym last night and after the usual running and rowing, i went to the "stepper/ski" thingy. I managed only to spend 5 bloody minutes before calling it quits.

Damn legs were heavy as lead last night.

Friday got hip hop class.
Interesting.

Rapping at the window, whistling down the chimney pot

It has been 2 days since Liah turned 25. To this dear friend, Happy Belated Birthday! 12 years of friendship and babe, we’re still going strong. Right?

Liah treated us all to a Thai dinner on Sunday. Then later, Noreen and Weiling left…leaving Clara, Liah and I to chat the night away @ Wheelock Place’s Coffee Bean.

Will upload our crappy black-n-white and sepia photos ONCE I GET THEM. *hint hint*

Uh huh.

Sunday 20/11/2005
What a struggle! I woke up at 0730hrs still in a daze. That morning, some of my colleagues and I were going trekking at Macritchie Reservoir. We wanted to go to the Tree Top Bridge. Anyway the flag-off time was 0830hrs. But Dear and Inn Tian came late and we only managed to embark 30 minutes later.

Betsy got bored and began to snap crappy pictures. Err…I was doing warm-ups, by the way. Ally was just being a diva.

This is Chin Yin. That’s her hubby, Gib. They soon got bored and inspired by a monkey who was playing near the bus stop, CY began to search for lice. Ah, couples!

Anyway, when the 2 slipper-wearing clowns (milkmaid Inn Tian and beach bum Dear) appeared, we finally started our climb.

The weather was nice that morning.

It was not scorching hot and it was quite breezy. However, the walk was still quite a workout. Surprisingly, we didn’t take very long to reach the bridge. In fact, it only took us slightly more than an hour. That’s the fastest for me! But then again, we took the shorter route. CY, Gib and I were even engulfed by some jungle madness and sprinted past some harmless joggers. Basically, we were being pests.

Finally!
The bridge looks long, right?
However you can just dash across it in 5 seconds.

Me: Look, Dear! Look up there. Care Bears!
Dear: Yeah…and you’re Winnie The Pooh, right?

Me: Oi! Who farted?
Dear: Orh, sorry!

View from the top.
Doesnt matter how you see it, actually.
They all looked the same.

Due to vertigo, CY forgot her hubby’s name.

Anyway, we walked really slowly…
So as to justify the ache-inducing walk we had to the bridge.

And we walked…

That’s Betsy in the foreground.

And we even sat down…

When we were done with the bridge, we slowly made our way back, dragging our jelly legs with us. IT, B, Dear and Ally must have been too tired. They started to act funny and got delirious. And I still don’t understand the boob-grabbing phenomena!

The walk back seemed never-ending. However, here, you can see my glee.

Being at the golf course meant that we had only 3kms to go!

The sky then took a turn for the worse. It got quite gloomy. Thank God we were already at the boardwalk when it started to drizzle.

It then started to pour once we reached the ridiculous zig-zag bridge.

Screw the zigzag and make it straight can?

Humph!
