Let's hear it for the boy

It's freaking 1620hrs and I havent even started on my work and right now, I am just killing myself watching WildBoyz; laughing my head off and wishing I had the stupid courage of Chris Pontius and Steve-O.

Pity they stopped making this.

So I guess it's up to me to make my own, albeit lame ones.

I am the walrus

Am still at work.

Am having doubts about pursuing Master in Education (Leadership, Policy and Change). Am having doubts if I am good enough for any academic courses that I am interested in.

Am looking at NUS' stuff...doubt I can, though.

It's limited ...here in Singapore.

She's leaving home

The parents came home last night while I was folding clothes...minutes after I just got home. I was in a pissy mood cause (1) I was tired (2)I hadnt had dinner (3) the sister didnt bring down the clothes and folded them (the only task I asked her to do) (4) there's dirty dishes in the sink and (5) my packet of instant porridge was gone. I had enough of thinking about everyone else when obviously, no one cared.

So I kind of complained a little.

And the mother got angry at the fact that I got angry. She complained that the fridge was messy and all that crap and bla bla and said no matter what, I was still the eldest and had to do everything. Chee bye.

I was so pissed off, I cooked maggi, crying at the same time. Gave an effing disgusted look at the parents, flipped my hair infront of the mother's face and just walked away.

I was so tempted to scream at her: What's the point of me being the eldest when I have a parasite who stays with me who doesnt even behave like she's my sister...or part of the family? From now onwards, I am not your eldest. I am not your daughter. I am just your bloody tenant.

That was how pissed off, tired and emotional I was last night.
A bunch of effing wankers.
All of them.

I should have snipped off all the potted plants and thrown away everything in the fridge.

...

Maybe I am too individualistic and self-centred. The mother always says that I dont have that all-sacrificing emotion for the family and that I am too calculative. Well well well...why should I if I am the only one who makes an effort?

After 28 years, they still dont know. I am an extreme mental case. I go all individualistic and hermit-like ... or I can be the greatest team player. I am never in-between.

It's really time for me to leave the freaking nest.

I should be so lucky

Guys, guys, guys...

I know you guys are worried about my India trip and all and trust me, I do appreciate your concern.

Archie, CY2 and I (well more for CY2 on Archie)are also cracking our heads regarding this issue so I do appreciate if you lessen the bombardment cause it's driving me nuts.

We are still monitoring the situation - communicating with the agency back and forth and checking out news - and I am also asking feedback from my Indian colleagues.

So thank you for the concern.

Step back in time

[My diploma students are not here and it's already 1935hrs]

Monash results are out and I've got crazy feedback from the students. Some did extremely well, some did okay, some got by and some got stuck. All part of the game, baby. Well, a semester is over. A new one starts in about 3 months' time. Bliss.

Pictures:

Last Friday @ Zouk/Phuture with Vinz (our resident drinker), CY2 (and her friend Eileen) and birthday boy, Adrian "I'm-late-for-my-party" Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh no no (shut up Beyonce!)

No, dont ask me what's he wearing.

We bought for him a bottle of white wine. Maybe he would bring it along to Spain next week. Happy travelling, man.

-----

Then on the next day, last Saturday, the Moonies celebrated Ismail's 28th birthday. He was the last among us to turn 28 and as always, it was something exciting planned in store.

Few of us gathered at Lucky Plaza's Pizza Hut. Not even the mini fiasco could dampen my spirit, though.

Lauren, Sha, Mail, Tini and Ed were the early ones.
Jay and Jo joined us there later.

We then headed to Cash Studio at Ming's Arcade around 1930hrs. Nani and Grace joined us there and we had our Moonie Idol contest where everyone had to choose a music genre and performed 2 songs. I was 'College Rock' and I sang Soft Cell's Tainted Love (which was a dud cause Sha disturbed me!). I also did U2's With Or Without You...but with a twist.

I added Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby to With Or Without You.
Pity no one recorded.
Damn.

Mail - 70s disco dancer (complete with clothes pegs to bell-bottomised his pants)
Tini - religious country singer (hahahahaha)
Sha - Pop slut tart
Lauren - 80s wannabe pop trash
Nani - RnB
Joanne - confused Asian+Latin+balladeer
Ed - College Rock
Grace - confused punk rocker
Jason - Mando-pop (wtf!)

Some silly shots to fill up space since I am waiting for 'official' photographs.

Some damn terribly shot and lame clips:

Mail giving us instructions.

Lauren doing her anti-climatic chanting of Madonna's Papa Don't Preach

The winning performance from Sha - Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone.
She won a $40 voucher from HMV.

Headed to nearby Coffee Beans to pass birthday boy his present (Gramaphone voucher) and to cut cake. Birthday Boy annouced Sha was the winner. Yay.

Sha, Nani, Lauren and I headed to the prata joint at Evans Road..chatted a bit and then Sha, Lauren and I headed to Mustafa Centre.

And my French prata ended the madness.

Like a pill

The auntie smsed me saying she had just completed her 12-day radiotherapy session. I asked her if there's any development and stuff. She just mentioned that the tumour near her lung has gotten bigger.

I regretted asking.

Some things are better for me not to know cause they depress the shit out of me.

*sniff*

On a night like this

1. Your Disco Needs You
2. Confide in Me
3. Please Stay

P/S: I am too embarrassed to post all the videos I took from the Manics' and Kylie's concerts. My voice drowned everyone else's in the videos and it's not a pleasant thing.

###

No scrubs

I have been wanting to put pictures of ismail's (whatever I have at least)birthday and the Manics' and Kylie's concerts. But each time I wanted to do so, I fell asleep.

The parents are away on holiday and will only be back this weekend. They left last Monday so since then, I had been doing the housework cause the lazy-ass sister is too retarded to do it. And she didnt even bother to try. That's how retarded she is.

The past 3 nights had me reaching home at almost midnight, followed by reading papers, doing laundry, folding clean ones, hanging wet ones, cleaning the kitchen (cause the sister-in-law came over in the daytime to cook something for us or something), sweeping the house and watering the plants.

By the time I started my work, it would be 0300hrs already.
By 0400hrs, I was dead on the floor.
By 0745hrs, I was up for work.

I am fine with parents going away. I just cant stand deadweights. Most of the laundry are not even mine. Dammit.

Next time when I stay in my own house, there wont be so many plants to be watered (my corridor is practically a jungle now), other people's clothes to be washed and hang out to dry, and messy kitchen --> I'll cook but trust me, I'll pick up every single crumb on the table top. There wont be many carpets and there will definitely be no deadweight. If I were to have a pet, I'd make sure that animal help me out.

No deadweights.

No scrubs either.

From despair to where

You know how much I love the Manics, right? So it's heartbreaking to know that after all these years - 13 to be exact - member Richey James Edwards is now officially 'presumed dead'.

.........................

Missing Manic Street Preacher declared dead
Posted: 25 November 2008 1141 hrs

LONDON : While the Manic Street Preachers were performing in Singapore on Monday, the band's former guitarist and songwriter Richey Edwards who has been missing for 13 years, was declared as "presumed dead".

"There has been a change in his legal status," said the spokesman for the Welsh rock band, adding that his parents had been granted a court order to that effect.

Edwards' car was found abandoned in February 1995, near the Severn Bridge linking England and Wales, a popular suicide spot. The 27-year-old musician who had suffered severe bouts depression throughout his life, was believed to have taken his own life by jumping off the bridge.

A missing person can be declared legally dead after seven years but his parents have taken nearly twice that length of time to do so.

Welsh news web site www.walesonline.co.uk quoted David Ellis, the Edwards family lawyer, as saying they had had a change of heart that reflected "an acceptance that his affairs have got to be sorted".

"That's not the same as an acceptance that he is dead," he added.

Earlier this month the remaining members of the band - Nicky Wire, James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore - announced that they will make a new record featuring lyrics left behind by Edwards.

"It's a record that celebrates the genius of his words, full of love, anger, intelligence and respect. We have to make this great," they said on their website. The band hope to release the album in April.

4 Real.

Though there is still a little niggling feeling that you are still around, I guess we all have to let go sooner or later. At peace, wherever you are, my little Welsh genius, my tortured hero. We'll carry your words still with gumption.

From despair to...where?
Burn out, fade away or melt in.

Put yourself in my place

Kylie was fantastic and between her and Manics, well I cant decide. Both have been elevated as Ed's favourite concerts...ever.

But I shall talk about this two later.

Right now, I am bawling my dirty mascara-d eyes off watching this.

Sorry to 'bomoh' you all.

P/S: Nope. She didnt sing 'Put Yourself In My Place'.

Winterlovers

Am standing right in front of stage. It is 1915 hrs and well, as expected, it is not packed. But i like it that way. Already i have dispense some dirty looks to several wannabes who are here in heels and dainty dresses.

I hope they start on time. Hope they can see the fat(ter) brother who is beside me, wearing a big and purple Richey tshirt..looking like barney and tinky winky all roll into one.

Maybe i should stand beside the nyonya (yes nyonya) who is carryiing a welsh flag and..of all things, a feather boa.

The second great depression

It is a very unproductive Monday.

I hope Manic Street Preachers sing the whole of Forever Delayed plus little gems like Rihanna's Umbrella and John Lennon's Working Class Hero.

I hope Kylie Minogue comes out to sing Little Baby Nothing and Your Love Alone Is Not Enough.

I hope it is not going to rain.

i hope no one will piss me off.

...

i hope.
i think.
i know.

If you tolerate this then your children will be next

No, this is not personal. It's just an attempt to correct a wrong. If it doesnt happen, hey, I'm not the kind who will lose sleep over it. But I did try to correct a wrong.

...........................................

Hi everyone,

I have been observing all of you (full timers and part timers alike) and though it is not officially the end of the term yet, I dare say that this is the worst semester I've ever seen (during my stay in XXX) in terms of H**C students' conduct.

Here we go:

This semester, you have shown a tremendous lack of respect for your lecturers, your fellow classmates and most importantly, yourselves. You have been complaining, grumbling and whining about school but I have not seen anyone actually taking a positive measure about it. You accuse us of poor teaching but hey, take a step back. Do you think you can do any better? If you think just because you are paying us and that we should be treating you like kings and queens, then I am sorry, I want my time and effort back because I dare say that I (and other lecturers) have gone beyond our "service time" to help you in your studies.

Your latecoming and constant absenteeism are disgusting. Be careful. Karma and retribution will bite you. Don't you dare come to me if many of you cannot make it this semester; graduating students or not. You have been taxing my patience and trust me, I have been a very patient person this semester.

This semester, you have insulted Miss XXXXX and Miss XXXXX for your lack of interest and concern in their teachings. Without bearing in mind that they are still new, you take it in your liberty to judge them off and refuse to attend their lessons, You have provided nothing but distress to the whole department who go out on a limb to improve H**C in XXXX. You have provided nothing but distress to those two lecturers, whose main "fault" probably is their inexperience. You accuse us of being unmotivated. Look again. Will you be motivated teaching people who are judgemental of you?

This semester, your constant disruption in class have shown that you do not respect your classmates who are here to actually learn something. For the full-timers, you sashaying 45 minutes into class without shame or apologies truly show what kind of person you are. You lack order in life and probably have no form of respect. Please prove me wrong because if this is really the case, no one in the right mind will want to employ you.

Plus, your constant drama with one another is pulling you away from the main reason as to why you are here in the first place: to study.

This semester, the biggest person you have insulted is yourself. Many of you have not risen to the challenge and this is sad because the semester is almost over. Many still give lousy, plagiarised work and hoping to God that the lecturers will be too stupid to see it. You take deadlines for granted; submitting a lousier job one week late. You take our advice for granted, thinking you are good enough to pass the assignments. Dear students, I am fine with you insulting us lecturers. We take it as part and parcel of our job. However, I cannot take it when I see you throwing your lives into the drain. You are insulting the sanctity of living and learning.

One day, I hope you realise that life is not about struggling to make the cut. It is more than that. Life is being the best that you can be. If you don't push yourself now in order to find out how good you can be, it will be hard when you are pushing mid life.

So, please buck up and learn to respect yourself cause I am not done with you people yet.

Your lecturer,
Ed

You're tender and you're tired

- Maybe I wore the wrong bra (slightly tight) and that the not-so-smooth blood circulation is making me grumpy

- Maybe having yesterday's pizza for breakfast made me grumpy cause I'm having a little tummy upset

- Maybe seeing the pile of crap on my office table is making me grumpy

- Maybe my problematic sinus is making me grumpy

- Maybe the lack of sleep cause I was up watching Russell Peters till 0400hrs is making me grumpy

- Maybe marking some students' atrocious work is making me grumpy

Bottomline: I am damn grumpy. A sleepy grinch with a sinus problem is what I am today.

...................

[Pictures later tonight]

So Saturday was Adrian's birthday. On Friday, I was there to join CY2 and Vinz at around 2200hrs. Phuture was still relatively not-packed and we had our own corner where we did our stuff. Birthday boy reached Zouk at about 2300hrs and poor bugger couldnt get in cause Phuture was packed. CY2, Vinz and I joined him then at Zouk main floor. CY2 and Vinz didnt dig it and as for me, I would be lying to say that I prefer RnB/HipHop better. But I'm more for the company, lah. Anyway, we were with Adrian till 0100hrs and then we left him at the podium and the three of us headed back to Phuture.

It was a bad move for me cause I totally hated it. The music was same old-same old as usual, the crowd was terrible. What Kenny Sia said was true, man. Whatever happened to Phuture? Or has it always been like that and that I was too blind to see?

Anyway, I was beginning to get pissed off and at about 0200hrs, I decided that I should head to the main floor. It was also partly guilt for me, for leaving birthday boy alone. CY2 was nice and came with me, though I knew she was enjoying herself down in Phuts. So we found Adrian and had about 15 mins of tribal dancing. Bouncing up and down like a Red Indian on fire.

Hey, at least I had space.

....

Saturday was Mail's belated birthday celebration and that was another crazy ball game altogether. Will shed more light tonight.

Anyway yesterday, I finally got the guts to go to the salon to confront my hair problem...my follicle misery. It's not pretty, nor it is easy on the pockets but I figured I had to do it. I have been plagued recently with terrible terrible hair condition that there was a time when I decided to go all Britney and shaved it bald. I am talking about her shaving her head by the way... not about...you know..her pompoms.

So yeah, the head went through some intense treatment yesterday and it will have to do so again next month and the next...for the next 5 months. Okay, enough. It's too depressing.

BUT BUT BUT !

It's going to be okay cause tonight, I am going to see my Manic Street Preachers. I am already wearing their faded old tshirt under my jacket and tonight, I am probably going to faint at Fort Canning if my sinus still hasnt cleared by then.

Oh James Dean Bradfield!
Sing me protest songs!!

Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realise and I can see

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
I can take or leave it if I please

That game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll some day lay
So this is all I have to say

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
I can take or leave it if I please

The sword of time will pierce our skin
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger, watch it grin

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

A brave man once requested me
To answer questions that are key
Is it to be or not to be
And I replied oh why ask me

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I...

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
I can take or leave it if I please

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And you can do the same thing if you please

P/S: Am loading up on MSP music now. Hopefully Kylie will make an appearance and sing Little Baby Nothing.

...I will totally dig Natalie Portman.

Now or never

16...
16...
16...

Just done watching High School Musical 3 with Lexie (just a little Lexie bonding time I guess) and I think this final instalment is the best out of the trilogy. Dont get me wrong, I know it is all fluff but it is one of the most successful franchises of recent times.

I think HSM3 is waaay better than House Bunny or that Chihuahua show
and I had seen them all.

But, just one thing I didnt understand.

Why the fuck was I crying from start till end while watching that show?

I must be going mental.

Everyday people

My legs are dead weights, man.

Was in school till late cause there was an event going on. Was so afraid that I couldnt make it to Liah's birthday gathering. That will be unforgiveable cause I was the freaking organiser. Hence, I was quite paranoid and was throwing a tantrum while judging the slightly disorganised film event. Plus, one of the nominated videos really killed me with its pacing (or lack thereof). And when the 'Idol' (who was there to perform) took her own sweet time to go to the front for her 2nd song, I was ready to throw the OHP projecter at her.

I cant stand amateur divas.

Be humble, bitch.
Freaking VIPs are freaking waiting for you.

Anyway, managed to rush to Plaza Singapura in time. Had to get Liah's present before meeting the girls at Manhattan Fish.

Weiling, Ed, Clara and birthday girl, Liah

P/S: Big eyes are over rated.

Weiling and Clara got her a bag and I got her an Anna Sui perfume.
I am sory...couldnt get a better gift cause I was pressed for time.
*grumblemumble*

Weiling, the still-fresh bride, and my meal ...fish and mussels.

Liah gave us our belated birthday gifts - album for Clara and memory stick for me.

Some random pictures from Weiling's wedding.

Rushed down to Zouk to meet Vinz, CY2 and Adrian to celebrate the latter's birthday. But birthday boy had bloody capoeira and was late. He was so late he couldnt get in.

Okay. Another story, another day.

Am going to watch Grey's Anatomy before heading to Mail's wedding birthday gathering. Hope it's going to be crazy

Remember (walking in the sand)

I am eating Twisties with a spoon as if they are porridge.

Just another sign that one is going mental.

India plans are uninterrupted. We have been given the particulars of our Indian travel agents, who will help us (hopefully) with our worries. If they were to endanger my life and if I were to die, I'd make sure everyone goes with me. No one will be left behind, I tell you. Travel agents, caterers, hoteliers and all.

Of course I am bullshitting.

This is a self-risk and no one is putting the knife to my neck except myself. Our local agent told us not to worry as we're her VIP guests. I interpreted it as that we're the only ones "brave" enough to go. Haha.

I like this excitement.
It makes coming home so wonderful.

I'm sure most of you know that I am pro-Singapore. I daren't say I travel much but wherever and whenever I go, the pleasure of returning home is insurmountable. I may have a good time in Europe or other continents...but there's no place like home, Yeah, to be precise, there's no place like being in a 3-room flat surrounded by 3 other noisy people who will fight tooth and nail with one another for toilet everyday. Uncomparable.

Oh well.
For all the excitement, India is still 35 days away.

But but but but, November boasts its own excitement. Along with the proverbial November Rain of course.

1, Today's Liah's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLD FRIEND!!) and we're meeting up tomorrow for dinner.

2. Am meeting some Timor friends for some after-hours fun time tomorrow also.

3. Saturday will be Ismail's damn belated birthday gathering.

4, Monday is rock concert in the park Manic Street Preachers' way.

5. Tuesday is campy concert Kylie Minogue style (I need to get that damn feather boa)

6. Next Saturday will be my Mass Comm gathering with the students

And then there's pay day. And marking. And teaching. And...and..and...

But right now, it's back to work.

P/S: Thanks to Nani, the Cambodia trip is coming to fruition too.

I love my job...

...I think.

Okay there's a limit to how much I can write that without being hit by the conscience arrow.

Work shouldnt be a pain in the ass. I found myself torturing myself (yeah go figure that one out) so I thought I brought it down a notch. And now, the management thinks I'm too slow? Bitch, puh-leez!

2 cans of Red Bull back to back to drown the office sorrow.

Misery until kingdom comes.
Or until the cows come home.
Whichever comes first.

Hopefully the cows ...so that I can have beef.
Moo-na oh moo-na

I think I will die a lonely death in the Mass Comm room. Dear colleagues, if any of you are reading this, do check on me once in a while. I will probably surrender myself to the dark side and hang myself in that room so that I can haunt this god damn department for the rest of civilisation/mankind.

Work makes going to Kashmir and be caught in a misfiring crossfire seem quite a good idea after all.

P/S: Does anyone have any contact on how I can get a voodoo doll? I need 5 to be precise.

Almost paradise

There's nothing much to say, nothing extraordinary other than the fact that my students are all killing me slowly. Not 'softly', no sir. Those students are like SUPER LOUD. I am slowly losing my patience. Mature students? What mature students?

Anyway it's 0300hrs. I really need to get me some sleep.

Here's something hilarious...hopefully the smile still stays when I wake up in 4.5 hours' time.

*They have taken off the complete and utterly hilarious clip on youtube. Damn.

A thousand times goodnight, holla-back girls and hommy homs.

P/S: I need to do something to my hair. They are drying up like thick twigs already.

Don't touch me

Oh before I go to bed, here's a a little something.

A couple of moons ago, we had the company's DinnerNDance. I, together with some friends, had to do some performances. One of the numbers was a Bollywood fare. We danced to this song...

...but of course we did it better.

Right.

Security tight as Indian Kashmir votes in state polls

Posted: 17 November 2008 1415 hrs

SUMBHAL, India: Indian Kashmir voted under tight security Monday for a new state government, with separatists staging a massive boycott to protest New Delhi's hold over the Himalayan region.

Kashmir was put under direct federal rule in July, when the state government collapsed following its controversial decision to give land in the Muslim-majority region to a Hindu pilgrim trust.

That crisis sparked a revival of Muslim protests reminiscent of the early 1990s when an insurgency against New Delhi's rule had just begun, and caused the death of nearly 50 Muslims.

The state elections are being staggered over seven phases, enabling authorities to mount a huge security operation as successive areas vote.

The last stage of voting is scheduled for December 24 in Srinagar - the urban hub of anti-India rebels.

In the first stage of elections on Monday, voting was held in ten of the total of 87 state assembly segments, including this town situated 30 kilometres (18 miles) north of Srinagar.

"Although the campaigning was peaceful, we have received information that the militants will not remain silent," local police chief Kuldeep Khoda said.

Khoda said adequate deployments have been made to ensure "free, fair and peaceful polling."

Both hardline pro-Pakistan rebels and moderate separatist politicians argue any polls strengthen India's sway over the disputed state.

Srinagar and other towns were almost totally locked down, as thousands of troops were out in force to prevent anti-election rallies, witnesses said.

Kashmir is held in part by nuclear-armed India and Pakistan but claimed in full by both nations, which have fought two wars over the region.

The countries began talks to settle the region's future in 2004 but there have been no breakthroughs, further frustrating the mood in Kashmir.

-------------------------------------------

Okay.
My holiday plan seldom goes smoothly, I tell you.

Srinagar is where we will be but looking at this piece of info, I doubt I would want to be caught in a crossfire. What Pinku said was true; it is a dangerous place. But...but...but..

I am just amazed that the tour agency hasnt got the brains to think about this. Hello, do you even read up on the happenings of the places; places where you dump your paying customers to? I am just amazed that they dont have back-up plans. What will surprise me even more will be them not being able to amend itinerary.

This travel agency is definitely not up to par, I personally feel. I shall give them till the weekend to come up with solutions before I start telling names ...

...and creating a will.

P/S: Dammit. I do want to see the Himalayas. Dont make me change location to Nepal. I've been eyeing that place since I was 18.

P/P/S: But Nepal has no Taj Mahal. Uwaaaarrggh!!

Nancy boy

Alcoholic kind of mood
lose my clothes, lose my lube
cruising for a piece of fun
looking out for number one
different partner every night
so narcotic outta sight
what a gas, what a beautiful ass.

And it all breaks down at the role reversal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.
And it all breaks down at the first rehearsal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me

Kind of buzz that lasts for days
had some help from insect ways
comes across all shy and coy
just another nancy boy.
Woman man or modern monkey
just another happy junkie
fifty pounds, press my button
going down.

And it all breaks down at the role reversal
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.
And it all breaks down at the first rehearsal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.

Does his makeup in his room
douse himself with cheap perfume
eyeholes in a paper bag
greatest lay I ever had
kind of guy who mates for life
gotta help him find a wife
we're a couple, when our bodies double.

And it all breaks down at the role reversal
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.
And it all breaks down at the first rehearsal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.

And it all breaks down at the role reversal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me.
And it all breaks down at the first rehearsal,
got the muse in my head she's universal,
spinnin' me round she's coming over me, me

I hate this part

Well well, it is past 0500hrs and I am finally going to bed. Yeah, I know...it's going to be 'subuh' already.

You see, I procrastinate a lot. I rather re-arrange my clothes in the wardrobe than to actually tackle my work. I spent almost 2 hours reading CLEO because my attention span is so short and after that, I began to take out my job stuff.

I mean..come on, it's the weekend. Let me just while away my time!

Okay, it's going to be another long week as usual but hey, we're 1 week closer to seeing the Manics and Kylie Minogue live in concert. Need to dig out my dusty Manics' tshirt and need to get a feather boa for Kylie too. Haha.

OKay, I really should stop squinting my eyes in the dark, blogging using my hp and the qwerty pad. Work in 3 hours, man.

A thousand times goodnight, lambs.

Tears dry on their own

Am watching Oxegen Festival on MTV and nutter Amy Winehouse is performing her set.

Winehouse is a sad sight to see and is definitely a poetic mess. She wriggles, she stumbles, she drinks, she lifts her dress, she forgets her words, she wails, she spaces out. A British national treasure, this woman.

We have a love/hate relationship...Amy and I.

Okay, back to work.

P/S: Yup am doing work in front of the TV. Staying indoors when the weather outside is so gorgeous.

Bag it up

So Man U win, Arsenal crash and the Reds top the table (for now). Another exciting weekend EPL, ya'll.

I am so sleepy that I fell asleep while playing Wii. I also fell asleep in the last 5 minutes of football, missing Ronaldo's closure. I also missed Ronaldo's opener cause the father was surfing the channel and got stuck on a Tamil movie. Argh.

And oh oh oh, it has come through the mail! My brand new Marc Jacobs' bag which I bought from ebay.

The bag is actually a freebie when you buy a magazine. But the problem is, the magazine is only given exclusively or something. Am not really sure. But all I know is that this is an exclusive one and I like it. And it's cheap.

And now I need to sleep.

A thousand times goodnight, bag ladies.

The letter

Dear God,

1. Please dont let Izzie die. Please, please, please.

2. Let Sadie die instead.

3. Please dont put Sloan and Sadie or Sloan and Lexie together.

4. Let's put Callie and Sloan together instead.

5. Please let Denny go away.

6. Let Hunt stay for good instead.

See, God. I'm not just complaining and whining, I am offering solutions. Please, let me die happy.

I dont ask for much.

Thank you.

Love,

Ed

P/S: Send my message to Shonda Rimes and gang before it's too late.

Politicalamity

It's been a damn long week. Last night, I sat in a class presentation by the part time students. It was Jabbawocker's class and Babylon was moderating. I was just the calefare but since I knew these students too, I just wanted to see what they had in store.

And what they had in store was just a bag of self-indulgent disappointment. Unprepared, thinking they could just wing it. So what did I, the most experienced person in the room, had to do? I actually lashed out at the students. Scolded/nagged/advised them for not taking school seriously, for thinking we would let them off easily, for not stepping up their freaking game, yada yada. I lashed out more than Jabbawocker and Babylon...and then I felt guilty for taking up air time.

They went silent.
All 4 of them.
The impact is greater when there's only 7 people in the room.

Amazed by the audacity, I went off and walked all the way to Tangs shopping centre. I met Rae, Karin, Sock Kham and Lauren, and bought another Chanel lipstick. If life is going to be that depressing, at least I'd make sure I have Rouge Allure on me.

Number 40, please.

I swear by this two...#40 and gloss #69.
I have one more purplish Allure but I use it on days when I feel battered and abused.

So yeah, met up with them, had dinner and then to Starbucks. After a while, the girls left leaving Lauren and me. We walked down to Emerald Hill but Acid Bar was way full and my favourite Pinoy girl was not there. So...haha, we headed to Howl At The Moon and got squashed by ang mohs.

We are so going to bring JJ over next time he's back. I am sure he would appreciate the bawdy humour and Monty Python-esque songs the performers crafted. Me? Hey, songs about balls, schlongs and tits are fine with me. If you can throw a George Carlin humour, lagi best.

So we stayed till three. Time passed so fast when we had 2 Chinese men who were so hilarious and obviously having a good time. They knew the words to every song and I was "sold" when they knew the words to Men At Work's Land Down Under. I was like:

"Ah, they're my kind of Chinese men!"

Amazing. I know this by heart okay!
Hahaha totally lame ass.

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,

Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Lying in a den in bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?
And he said,

Oh! do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover (Men@Work)

...and here I am at work. Just downloaded Grey's Anatomy.

Okay.
Anatomising.
Out.

Neon tiger

We have been safe, clean and death-proof for too long. Here's something to shake the system:

MAN DEAD IN SINGAPORE ZOO TIGER MAULING

1. Why did he jump into the moat?
2. Why did he jump into the moat?
3. Why is it easy to jump into the moat?
4. Why did he jump into the moat?
5. Why is he the only one who jumped into the moat?
6. Was he really trying to clean the enclosure?
7. Was the tiger sleeping when he jumped into the moat?
8. Why did he jump into the moat?

Choose one and analyse it in 2000 words. Use communication and postmodern theories and back arguments with proper citations and references. Do not plagiarise and inability to comply will result in a straight failure.

I remember you

Rushed home last night, took a shower and then, start banging.
My drums, that is.
Was banging from midnight to almost 0300hrs.

I've been all out of sorts lately. Many things happening in my life and I cant immerse myself in any. I feel the occasional breathless period (not the cholestrol, I hope) sometimes and sometimes when I am resting, I realise I am not breathing properly. It's like I am holding my breath and not letting go. It's not the usual tired breathlessness; more like breathlessness in anticipation of something. But of course, nothing exciting or dangerous happened.

Yesterday on the train, as I was standing in the cabin minding my own business, it struck me that I was holding my breath. Not that it was smelly...but it was like I was a freaking retard who didnt know how to breathe. Crap. Maybe yoga is the answer.

Anyway, in the pouring rain yesterday, I made my way to The Cathay after work. While waiting for Meiling, I headed to Starbucks and the guy at the counter was so nice. He actually asked how my day was and he actually listened to what I said!

Why is this strange?

Because usually, people asked for the sake of asking (*ahem*checkout girls*ahem*)and many dont even ask at all. So I was quite surprised when he asked how was my day ("bad!"), why was it bad ("too long") and how he could make it better ("caramel macchiato, please") and promised that the steaming brew would hopefully make me un-sulk myself. Awwww.

Meiling came and we headed to my favourite theatre in the world - The Picturehouse - to catch one of the good shows so far this year.

TALK TO ME brought in the laughs, the tears, the history, the drama about struggle and identity and most personally, the nostalgia of mucking around behind the console. Don Cheadle was ..wow.. as Petey Greene, an ex-con who became a radio DJ, then a popular talk show host and community activist in the 1960s. Man, that's what I had planned to do - the talk show, the DJ and the activisit, not the ex-con.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Petey Greene: [introducing a guest on his talk show] This is a pimp I wouldn't trust to wash my car, but y'all done elected him city official...
Dewey Hughes: PETEY!

...

Dewey Hughes: I need you to say the things I can't say, and you need me to do the things you can't do.

...

Petey Greene: I'll tell it to the hot, I'll tell it to the cold. I'll tell it to the young, I'll tell it to the old. I don't want no laughin', I don't want no cryin', and most of all, no signifyin'. This is Petey Greene's Washington.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So yeah, Talk To Me made me miss Rediffusion so bad. Sometimes I wonder why did I throw it away when I could have another 2 more good years there. Ditching it for a paper qualification, pah. I was so much happier there. Spinning discs and telling yarns; playing music which changed society, talking to myself, about myself, for myself. It was the most gratifying job I've ever done.

Nope.
Teaching doesnt even come close.

Rediffusion: When times were simpler, machines were less complicated and music was much sweeter.

Oh well.
Snap snap.

Time to go work. But not before sharing this pure gem. Managed to download this 2 weeks ago and had been getting re-acquainted with it since. When Obama won, I thought, man, how poetic could this song be. Imagine my surprise when Talk To Me used this as its main song. We love you, Sam Cooke.

I was born by the river
In a little tent
And just like the river
I've been running ever since

It's been a long, long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh, yes it is

It's been too hard living
But I'm afraid to die
I don't know what's up there beyond the sky

It's been a long, long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh yes it will

I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me don't hang around
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

Then I go to my brother
I say brother help me please
But he winds up knocking me
Back down on my knees

There's been times that I thought
I wouldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long, long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come
Oh, yes it will
- A Change is Gonna Come, Cooke

*sniff*

We take our lives and loves for granted, ya'll.

P/S: MAIL! How? How? Let's not have it in December. It's too late and it will open a new can of worms.

Another way to die

I am not an action-movie fan but I do have the odd favourites here and there ... like war and sports movies and the James Bond series for example. Of course I am intrigued by the latest instalment of James Bond.

However, my usual movie-kakis are not interested in watching Quantum of Solace.

So this is why I watch films alone.

..
..
..

O well.

P/S: I guess it is the very same reason why I refuse their invitation to watch The Coffin. Bitch, puh-leez.

Good morning

London Times' obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense.

'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place...

Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate;
teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on.

If not, join the majority and do nothing.'

Eat it

I am licking the almost-empty nutella jar. I am even contemplating chomping Milo powder. In my head, I am thinking gooey choc fondue, milkshakes and sticky chewy chocolate.

I think I'm hitting a "fertile" patch.
That's 2 extra letters more than 'horny'.

Err....

Whatever.

Gimme chocolates.

I had no sensation, completely numb I felt no satisfaction
I thought no one could ever get me high again
I swear I was not looking

I've waited so long
I thought the real thing was a fake
I thought it was a tool to break me down
You prove me wrong again

If love were liquid it would drown me
In a placeless place refine me
In a heart shape come around me
Ilove were human it would know me
In a lost space come and show me
Hold me and control me
And then melt me slowly down
Like chocolate... (Kylie)

Okay...I feel giddy and nauseous. I think it's serotonin doing its work.

P/S: In the central nervous system, serotonin plays an important role as a neurotransmitter in the modulation of anger, aggression, body temperature, mood, sleep, sexuality, appetite, and metabolism, as well as stimulating vomiting.

P/P/S: Great. I've reached the vomiting stage.
