Thank you in advance

Noreen has just given birth!

And the world welcomes Baby Isa!

:)

In an unexpected twist, I am here at home (afternoon shift) watching the (what now seems as farcical) JON & KATE PLUS 8 on Discovery channel. And I SO GLAD that I am neither pregnant nor with a child (let alone 8 of them).

:)

P/S: The Hangover was hilarious! I was clutching my guts and if I could roll on the floor laughing with my feet in the air, I would. Love it.

Tell me

Gonna catch THE HANGOVER later.

Heheh.

Bradley Cooper here I come!

P/S: Ed, you must stop writing in this horrendous pseudo-haiku style. It's pathetic and is a waste of space.

Go the distance

I want to do a research paper.

But my interests are varied and I cant focus.

I think I shall sleep.

Radar

I am getting sick. No wonder the waves of melancholy have been streaming in. I get that a lot when I am coming down with something.

My body is aching like crazy and my head is starting to spin slowly. I can feel the feverish chills in my body. It almost feels like cold turkey.

Maybe it's just because I am fasting.

Heavy cross

Dear Blinkymummy,

With relations to the question you have posed, here's what I can bring to the table (and I hope the table is big enough):

- humour (dry, dark, wit, frat boy...you name it, I got it)
- sex (good, bad, drunk, sloppy, standing...just call first hahah)
- dependability (like a freaking rock)
- love and empathy
- intelligence
- hopes and dreams

Scary.

And mentioning scary...

(Taken off Perez Hilton's blog)

How can Jesus find this sexy????

Jesus, please save.

Silent all these years

My sister and I.
We're so misunderstood.

:(

Anyway, random note aside, I've had a terrible Monday. Nothing went major-ly wrong but it's the accumulation of little horrible things going rat-tat-tat at you are the things that can break you slowly.

I feel the shit. I just have this niggling feeling that a mega disaster is going to erupt anytime soon. I really hope it's not death. Am such a negative force to be with nowadays and I apologise to friends who were affected in a way or another.I dont talk as much...it's like, there's nothing to talk about that hasnt been said. Understand that I talk a lot as a profession. When I am not in class, dont make me talk so much. Please.

I really need to escape to Tibet.

P/S: When one is fasting, one will face many forms of obstacles and challenges.

P/P/S: I will lead a quiet and eccentric old life.

I'll take you there

FB hung while I was editing my graduation pictures. It's 0300hrs and I dont know why I find it necessary to do it now. Anything but sleep, I guess.

As for my crush, we know of each other's existence and that's fine by me. We're not chummy buddy-buddy but we nod and smile as we pass each other by.

And I think, right now, it's good enough for me.

:)

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along (Glen Hansard)

I think it must have been the sun getting to my head.

Don't let the sun go down on me

After spending 3 hrs tanning and sleeping (yes, I slept!) at the Botanic Garden, here I am watching one of the best (if not the best in my opinion) films by Steven Spielberg - Empire of the Sun.

Christian Bale was one hell of an actor...even as a kid. He's the real Method Man, man.

Ok.
Watching.

Brain is tried.
Brain is fried.
Brain is fired.
Brain is tired.

And the stupid music player is resting on Scorpions as the singer wails "I'M STILL LOVING YOUUUUU!!!!"

Wanna be startin something

"The frontal lobe (the front part of each hemisphere of the brain) is the most fascinating section of the brain with relation to sleep deprivation. Its functions are associated with speech as well as story and creative thinking. Sleep deprived test subjects have difficulties thinking of imaginative words or ideas. Instead, they tend to choose repetitious words or old phrases. Also, a sleep-deprived individual is less able to deliver a statement well. The subject may show signs of indistinct speech, stuttering, speaking in a monotone voice, or speaking at a slower pace than usual.

Subjects in research studies also have a more difficult time reacting well to unexpected rapid changes. Sleep deprived people do not have the speed or creative abilities to cope with making quick but logical decisions, nor do they have the ability to implement them well. Studies have demonstrated that a lack of sleep impairs one's ability to all together focus on several different related tasks, reducing the speed as well as the efficiency of one's actions."

No wonder I didnt "feel" it in class just now. And I kept saying the word 'culture' and certain corny examples over and over again. I just need to sleep for 2 years.

But first...argh...I need to read this business textbook.

Butterfly

Tomorrow is the BizComm class. I am dreading it so much ... so much that I think I am going to be ill. The butterflies in my tummy are going on an overdrive and I am slowly, but surely, panicking.

I hate thursday mornings.

Graduation

Last time, I had to teach them and made sure they were fine under my supervision.

Now, I have to collect their graduation robes, keep for them, iron for them if they are badly creased under my care and well...help them wear those robes on Saturday noon.

My students.

Just like my company slogan says: Every Step With You.

E kept on sharing E's sex stories.

Do I look like a pitstop where people will randomly tell me sex-related stuff and then they walk off?

What do I do with all this information?

Doctore my eyes!

Today, I have started my MISSION ADJUSTMENT, where I slowly start to adjust my food intake so that come Ramadhan (fasting month), I will not be in a state of cold turkey. My last meal was at 2030hrs last night and did not consume anything till 1400hrs today. I will slowly push the timing till later, eventually till 1930hrs.

Next week will be the start of the next mission, MISSION PAY-BACK. I need to repay 7 days' of fasting days for last year's period days. Should be no problem, I hope.

Okay, Monash starts tonight and this semester, I have 3 modules to teach - 1 journ subject (Feature Writing), 1 film subject (Screen Theories) and 1 comms subject (Media Culture Power). All classes are at night and will continue till end October. I can kiss my social night life goodbye.

When we dance

After having an early night on Friday (tired from work and movie) and spending the whole Saturday morning and noon in bed, I finally made my way to Dhoby Ghaut at around 1730hrs.

Off to Fort Canning to catch Ballet Under the Stars.

I went to Carrefour to grab some grilled fish fillet before meeting Herlina, Ruth and Sha at Park Mall. We then headed uphill around 1845hrs. When we got there, the place was already damn crowded and the first opening acts had already started. So fast...the show was stated to start at 1930hrs.

Ed, Ruth, Sha and Herlina

We couldnt find a place near to the stage and the only available slot was way up at the back below the trees! With lots of bugs!

Anyway, we spread our mats (the material you sit on, not the malay homo sapiens)and rolled out the food. I had coke zero (disgusting, but it was the only thing I had at home), grilled dory from Carrefour, biscuit sticks with cheese dip and grapes while the rest brought potato chips, old chang kees and packet drinks. Ruth brought durian cakes and well, yes, I love durians but I think it was quite absurb to bring something which smells so strong to a crowded place.

Damn, I'm turning into a freaking snob, aint I?
Rhetorical question, people. Rhetorical.

So after a bit of camera whoring under the tree, in the hot sun...it was time for the show to start. I thought it was fantastic and I would have enjoyed it more if I were nearer and not distracted by irresponsible parents who let their kids ran buck wild and made incessant noise. No...it's not just Singaporean parents. Caucasians equally guilty.

And dont get me started on those who prefer to walk around and disturb people's focus on the performances. I understand your need to walk around, buy food, go toilet, go smoke and whatever but for God's sake....sit and watch when the performances had started. Wasn't that why you came in the first place? Un-fucking-believable. Call me a snob or whatever, but please, have some manners.

The ballet performances ended around 2130hrs and then we made our way to the office where RiffRaff was still working. Headed to McDonalds @ Raffles City after that before making my way home close to midnight.

And today...I spent the whole day with the family.

That's always a bittersweet affair.

Tired, now.

P/S: My favourite part of the dances wasnt the contemporary stuff. I truly enjoyed the classical piece Raymondo.
