Grenade

I am still alive. Photos of Espana are still elusive as I am still waiting for Lauren's. Once I get hold of them, I will upload some significant ones.

Anyway, here's something that gets me kind of excited - Shakira's new single!

>

Think she has lost a lot of weight since her Waka Waka video but..Shakira..I love you nevertheless!

I also want to give a shout-out to those who are planning to catch a movie or two. Recently I saw a couple and .. wow.. I was kind of impressed.

1. Le Petit Nicholas (Little Nicholas)

I laughed so hard I thought epilepsy had come. If you had watched another acclaimed French show - Les Choristes - you would be pleased to notice a slight reference *nudge nudge wink wink* made in Le Petit Nicholas. It was also a nice surprise to see the role of Nicholas' mom being played by Valerie Lamercier, whom I last saw in Agathe Clery. I recognised her...and that's a miracle.

This movie is excellent PG fun. The storytelling is witty yet innocent and so heartwarming. 4.5 stars!

2. The Social Network

I am a self-confessed geek (since no one can confess for me, right?) so this film is much anticipated with bated breath. Plus, Jesse Eisenberg is in it and I like him (as I do with other nerds/geeks like Michael Cera, Seth Rogen, Tina Fey). Of course I must add that director David Fincher has been on my directors-to-follow list. Fincher's an auteur so watching his movies are like trying to enter his brain. There are similarities but they are hidden so beautifully in the text. Alien 3 aside, remember Se7en, Fight Club (!!), Panic Room, Zodiac and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (ooooh Brad, Brad Brad!)? Those movies were a freaking joy to watch. The cinematography was awesome, the plot's gripping and his interpretations of the postmodernist struggle with identity and social circumstances are awesome.

Anyway, back to The Social Network...what can I say? Anyone who uses Facebook must watch it. Those above the age of 30 must watch just so that they will get a reality check - kids younger than you are making money by the shitloads. What the eff are you doing?

Think about it.
