Valentine's Day brought Lauren, Grace and I to Chinatown. I had to buy chair 'shoes', of all things. Anyway it was nice. No more flaming bak kwa by the roadsides anymore...so the PSI was still good. So many sweets and goodies...so little money. Hah. Dinner was great, though.
Food glorious food.
Went for a spin after Chinatown. Drove past Holland Village and after that, we were on a mission to find Dempsey Road/Tanglin Village's The Hacienda Bar. Discovering that place, we were quite awed at the vast civilasation the place had. It was like discovering a whole new state. We checked out the weirdly "atas" place in an idyllic surrounding and then left. After being bitten by mosquitoes, of course.
Next time...next time.
When we feel richer and classier, okay?
I met Fifi and Din on Thursday to catch HALF NELSON.

I am so sorry, guys.
I didnt expect it to be that slow and boring for you people.
Paiseh.
Anyway, I thought HALF NELSON was all right, although it was slow at the beginning. Production wise, it gave the same vibe as Sideways and Little Miss Sunshine and oh, TransAmerica. So yeah...it was something I was familiar with.
The movie..the movie...junkie teacher, black student in the ghetto...noble-sounding plot but it wasnt. I shall not describe anymore because I think you should experience this yourself. Really.
Cindy: Knock, knock.
Dan: [rolling his eyes but gamely playing along] Who's there?
Cindy: The Interrupting Cow.
Dan: The Interru...
Cindy: Moooooo!
Oh.
I dont think Ryan Gosling was THAT fantastic though.
Yesterday was the CNY concert in school. It was hilarious when the lower Sec came onstage to perform their lion dance routines with their artificial lion heads. Laughed so hard till I was crying. But there was an entry from Sec 4 and then..they won! It was a total sham. I was appalled at the organisers. My poor lower sec students were left in the cold. Lo your hei, ah!
Okay. Got to go for a new class which starts at 1630hrs. Later at night, am going to meet Moonies at Esplanade for the fireworks.
GONG XI FA CAI everyone (to those celebrating, that is) . May the year of the Pig bring you much prosperity. Oink!
