I am the street cat..hear me purr.

I am super tired today. And I still cant believe that I actually begged the mother. “Let’s go home,” I said countlessly.

Went down to SA Tours at People’s Park Complex with the mother and sister in the pouring rain. Apparently, there was a complication with my visa. Just mine. Bloody hell. Do I look like Osama or something? Do I really look like a man? God. So tomorrow, I have to drag my sorry ass down to the Australian Embassy near Nassim Road in the morning to settle my visa. Yup..early morning because they close at noon. What the…

Tell me about it.

I brought the 2 most troublesome women in my life (the mother+ sister) to Clarke Quay after that for lunch+dinner. Brought them to Fisherman’s Wharf, Oysters and Chips. Love that place. For $6.50, you get a huge kick ass dory fillet, a choice of fries, chips or coleslaw and a drink. There are fresh oysters too for those who like it..erm..raw.

Don’t they look like mucus/boogers?

Anyway, love the food there. Had quite a nice meal and a good time chatting without the men (the brother and father). After that, the mother dragged both of us to Lao Pa Sat to see an old friend who was mending a clothes shop there. Walked in the rain and after that, we headed to Marina Square and Suntec. I was totally tired by then.

And oh…when I said the place/the way was "there", why didn’t u people listen to me? Unbelievable. I don’t understand why a domestic housewife and an idiot refused to listen to my directions. Wasted time following their street trek. Next time, please ah..listen to me. I roamed around more often than you people do. I know my corners and alleys. LISTEN TO ME!!!! *grumblegrumble*

It’s crunch time tonight. It’s like it’s almost the final. What is it?
AC Milan versus Barcelona.

Okay.
Got to go and support my men.
Who?
Everyone, lah. I like them all…Kaka and Ronaldinho alike.

Later.

P/S: Badminton tomorrow. Where did I chuck my racquet?
P/S/S: I need my Italian food fix. I miss Oaks' aglio olio. Urgh..so pricey.

Scrutinised under naked eyes

Okay. Obviously I am still awake. Duh.

Found out something...my blog has been over-exposed and well...i am not sure if it's good or bad.

I didnt recall anyone asking me if they can link me up here.

But oh well...it's a free web. And well, hopefully, people can discard the bad stuff in the blog and just get the good essence.

The vulgarity will not stop, I tell you first.

Sucky thing is that...more censorship will have to be practised.

Don't you just freaking hate that?

Should I start on another new one? But I have grown very much attached to this.

This sucks.

I cant sleep.

###

A singleton's rabid rambling

Rushed down to AMK Central just now because the parents needed my help in paying for the jewellery that they bought. They needed another account because they had exceeded the withdrawal limit for the day. I don’t understand. What’s with those gold and crap? It is crass and oh-so-golden! So what if diamonds have no value? They look prettier.

Urgh!

Anyway...

Was talking to 2 old guy friends just now. Outcomes..outcomes.

Tristan: How’s the job search?
Ed: hmmm..sucky.

Tristan: Don’t be fussy…just grab anything that comes

What? Really…some friend, man. Just grab anything that comes. First, there must be something that comes to me right? If not, what can I grab? And well, if they are things coming my way, why cant I choose? If I just grab anything, trust me…you will hear my griping and complaining every single day and I will be totally miserable and fucked up. I hate it when working people make it sound so easy. Just because you are working…Just. Because. Pooh!

Anyway, Tristan was whining about his break-up with the girlfriend, who is of another religion. Whine whine whine…moan moan moan (I am such a good friend). Men.

Tristan: …but heart pain cos tell me, nowadays, where got girl who is not possessive, understanding, totally chin chy... simple is the word...

Where got girl?? Eh dey…open your eyes, lah! There are so many girls who are not possessive, understanding, totally chin chye..they are called fembots. Female robots, okay? Anyway, what’s the problem? Just like you said..”Don’t be fussy…just grab anything that comes” lah. Isnt that your theory? Hah. In your face!

Okay lame. But I just hate it when guys want girls who are so this-and that perfect…when personally I know that these guys are so not perfect. Men.

Then, haha, there’s the other one who is caught in a limbo of denial

BigBuFF@Lo says:
..i don’t want to smother her..must let her make the first move.
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
Lambat lah (you wait long long lah)…if you were to wait for a woman to make her move, you have to set aside a long period of time. It may not even happen!

Yup. No matter how modern times can get, most girls still wait for the men to make the first move. So if you keep on waiting, then you better set aside a long period of waiting time.

BigBuFF@Lo says:
love is stupid
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
Only when you are not getting any! Haha!

And well, we did talk/debate about many things. And I ended up shouting that “a woman cannot live without a man!” I am so sorry, Eves. I am so sorry.

BigBuFF@Lo says:
They better stay away from me…because I hate it when they leave me hanging
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
Haha. You know..there was a period of time I wanted to be a nun. I was tired of love and all its games
BigBuFF@Lo says:
Is that why you go Timor? Do humanitarian work?
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
Ah? Like Mother Teresa? Maybe…maybe. But then again I realize it’s hard. Not to have emotions, carnal desires…
BigBuFF@Lo says:
It’s easy for women. They can live without men. They have emotional support..female friends. Financially..can support themselves.

Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
no..no..there are just so much female friends can help
BigBuFF@Lo says:
but man cannot live without a woman
BigBuFF@Lo says:
its a cliche....
BigBuFF@Lo says:
but its true....
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
no no no...women need men too!!
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
i cant believe i am saying this
Constanza: Love doctor in the house says:
i am letting my species down

I am weak.
I am so weak.
But..but.. I need my man, mah! But first, I just need to find him. Hah.

Where is my man?

Oh well...anyway. Let's do something else.

Anyway, received an sms from dear old Noreen. She is confirmed to be getting married in August. What? Few days ago you said in September! Oh come on! Must find partner? Argh!!!

*run around like a headless chicken*

Oh…congratulations, babe!

Hah.

2nd half of 2006 will be a pretty hectic matrimonial period. Must get something pink for Noreen’s wedding and because we are all very close, I think Liah, Weiling, Clara and I will definitely be roped into the preparations. Bridesmaids.

WAIT!

I had a revelation. There’s Weiling, Clara, Liah and Noreen. Does the phrase “four weddings and a funeral” come to mind?

Oh no… oh no… If I have to wait that long and be the last one, he better be charming like Hugh Grant.

Yeah…but way younger, okay?

Okay I have to stop this.
I am sounding like a rabid singleton.
Like Carrie Bradshaw on speed.

A thousand times goodnight, singletons and whores.

A new order...Blue Monday!

OH BLOODY NO!

Just got news that Queen E is visiting next week on the 28th. Damn.

Anyone willing to take me in for 3 days? I'll be good. I'll wake up early, make the bed, make breakfast and I can even call you "Master".

Please please please please.

Anyone willing to house me?

###

So what’s it going to be then, eh?

Please pardon me when I say I don’t like to stay at home. It is because:

- the father is anal-retentive and has an obsessive compulsive disorder
- the mother is going through menopause and screams at everything
- the sister is a toilet and phone hogger
- there is no privacy for anyone
- the father and brother smoke a lot
- the sister blares loud music after midnight in my bedroom
- the mother likes to have the radio and TV switched on at the same time
- the father likes to watch sports all the time on the communal TV
- going into the kitchen after midnight is frowned upon
- no proper conversations can be heard without someone screaming or getting agitated

The irony?

This is coming from the parasite of a child…26, unemployed and still living with the parents. God, I AM George Constanza.

Notice the similarity?
Fat, bespectacled and balding.

"It's not a lie, if you believe it" - George Costanza
"If you look annoyed all the time, people think you're busy" - George Costanza
"Now you listen to me: I want details and I want them right now. I don’t have job , I have no place to go… you’re not in the mood: well you get in the mood" - George Costanza

Watching re-runs of Seinfeld sure brought back memories of growing up. I love my TV.

You Are 56% Happy

You're definitely a happy person, even though you have your down moments.

You tend to get the most out of life, though there's always some more happiness to be squeezed.

56% is not a very convincing kind of happy, right?

You Are 72% Open Minded

You are a very open minded person, but you're also well grounded. Tolerant and flexible, you appreciate most lifestyles and viewpoints.

But you also know where you stand firm, and you can draw that line.

You're open to considering every possibility - but in the end, you stand true to yourself.

Well, people do comment that I am open-minded. Maybe. I can take most things but definitely not everything. Example? The caricatures depicting Prophet Muhammad in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. I mean, come on, what was that all about?

Freedom of expression?

Sure. But to the point of being insensitive to the most touchy subject in the world (religion)? Can you imagine someone defacing a picture of Jesus? Giving him extra moustache? Chest hair, and all? Will that be equally blasphemous? Or will that be side-splitting hilarious? How about a picture of a church resembling a club..say, Zouk? And the devotees as techno-loving party animals?

However, religious issues aside, yeah I guess I am pretty much open for anything else. If you tell me you kiss/fuck on the first date, well good for you. If you tell me you are bisexual, well good for you. If you tell me you have AIDS, well I’m still your friend. If you tell me you are still hung up on your jerk-o-boyfriend/girlfriend, hey, whatever, your choice.

It doesn’t mean that I agree with you or what you have done or did. We live our own lives and right now, yours seems to be more interesting.

Met Val and Andrew for our almost-weekly gathering at S11. Andrew was lamenting how teachers like him have no time for a credible social life. It’s pathetic. And oh so funny.

Ed: At this rate, you can never find a wife.
Andrew: Wife? How about a girlfriend first?
Ed: Do you even go out?
Val: What social life do you have?
Andrew: I read comics.

[Ed and Val gave each other quizzical looks.]

Ed: Gaaah! Then maybe you can go to a comic shop and check out the girl at the counter.
Andrew: Siao! When I go to a comic shop, I will get what I want and zhao quickly.
Val: Hmmm..you are thinking of a holiday place right? Maybe can go ...
Ed+Val: Vietnam!

Andrew…sometimes I feel so guilty hanging out with you. It’s like depriving you of some social time with the possible girls out there. Hehe.

Oh well.

Been hearing/talking a lot of BGR issues lately. Some good, some bad, some plain sad. Humans are funny. When they don’t have a relationship, they crave for it. When they are in it, they yearn freedom. When it’s over, they go bonkers.

I know. It is impossible to remain unaffected in one’s whole life. But, are things so complicated? No, they are not. It is simply a matter of acceptance. Do you accept them? Do you concur? Can you forgive? Can you forget?

I was watching BABETTE's FEAST on Arts Central just now (God bless that channel) and I enjoyed it tremendously, to the amusement of the siblings. Anyway, kudos to the channel for airing a show that was befitting to the Christians’ Easter celebration. Babette’s Feast was simple but compelling.

Two lonely Danish women.
A French Catholic refugee.
A quaint Protestant village.
A feast fit for Napolean.
Loneliness.
Sacrifice.
Choices.

Full of Christian metaphors and symbolism. The Eucharist being the most significant. The movie also reminded me of the fact that people are quick to assume the unknown as evil and wrong. And that brought me back to the Prophet Muhammad caricature incident. Islam is insulted by some others because they think it is an evil sect which breeds terrorists. Their ignorance is then depicted in their childish acclaim to comedic parody fame.

Anyway...

I chose this path.
I have to accept this.
It was my choice.
Tough.
Deal with it.

A thousand times goodnight, collared workers.

Of Momo and mamas

Left the house at 2100hrs on a Saturday night…with utmost lethargy. Been slothing around and getting pissed the whole day. Kind of regret making plans to go out. But anyway, glad I went out eventually. Otherwise, it would be a premature bedtime session for me.

Sharinah, Clara, Lauren, Liah and I sat at the café outside Momo. I got a surprised news from Weiling. She’s attached!

Happy for you, man. Clara said you deserve a man and well I agree to that…but then again, everybody deserves somebody.

Clara: Not me, lor.
Ed: Huh..
Clara: I think I’m a mean person.
Ed: And being single is like bad karma, right?

Does that make me mean? Ooh… mean girls. Oh well. Mean, mean lor. Who needs a man anyway.

Err..hmmm…

Liah left at 0230hrs to meet her boyfriend. See, 3/5 are attached. Clara, we must buck up. Or, let’s get together. I don’t want to spend money to hire a man for Noreen’s wedding this September. Wonder if I can get one FOC. Yeah I am cheap. Hey I’m not working. And Lauren and Clara were at the liveband section. So Sharinah and I were alone dancing like crazy to house music, which was a very good outlet for an angry person like yours truly. Eventually the two women came over and then Clara left. Anyway, read this excerpt from Lauren’s blog:

["...we were dancing when this group of mats danced beside us, inching towards sharinah. this guy in stripes then went up to her and told her his fren would like to get to know her. said guy is dressed in full black, with puffy (curry-pok) hair. and his name - halim. YUCKS! that's happening on my rite. on my left is mona, and beside her, 3 indian guys dancing. just when the sharinah-halim incident is unfolding, one of the indian guy asked mona something. and she shouted back at him 'u r asking me if i'm a man?!?!'

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

but then again, no matter how dark or badly lit the club was, how can anyone ever mistake mona for a guy? unless he's blind, which is so-not-possible. but mona was very sure she heard the word man from the guy. so we sat outside at the eatery again, thinking what could the guy had possibly asked..

r u a man?
r u with a man?
do u need a man?
ai sey man? (duh-ness from mona)
wanna work it with a man? (too long leh)
work it out man!

the list is exhaustive. imagine the guy asked a perfectly innocent question, and got shoted (sic) at by mona. poor dude." ]

Tsk tsk tsk.
I is not happy.
How come my boobs always go invisible in clubs?

Maybe he’s an Indian from India..and from where he came from, the men wore earrings, flaming red top, jeans and a pair of Red converse…and shook their booties to Destiny’s Child.

God bless India, then.

Okay…off for a dinner date with the primary school kakis.

P/S: I’m still a woman, okay? And I like Ah Bengs.

Murder on the dancefloor

No..didn’t watch Clockwork Orange because of some TV hoggers. Instead, I had a bellyaching time in my room.

No pido que todos los días sean de sol
No pido que todos los viernes sean de fiesta
Tampoco te pido que vuelvas rogando perdón
Si lloras con los ojos secos
Y hablando de ella

Ay amor me duele tanto
Me duele tanto

Ay amor me duele tanto
Me duele tanto

If only I spent that one year doing Spanish…instead of French. Compare the gyrating Shakira to the saintly Petits Chanteurs de Saint Marc, gimme Shakira anytime. The petits chanteurs sang beautifully but I cant dance to them in clubs, can I?

Oh well. It’s Saturday and I am agitated.

Momo.

###

Life's a manga.

Read some disturbing manga, courtesy of CY.

However, I am still pissed off with myself.

I shall go watch The Clockwork Orange. I am angry and pissed off and this movie is definitely going to infuriate the hell out of me.

Bloody droogs.

And this sick show, my friend, is my most favourite movie of all time. It's good to piss you off even more.

###

Kannina ... "Forget it"

Was really looking forward to catch the Hollaback Crew finals and even got Ting to get for me tickets. She had to really ask around for them and managed to get 4 for me. But Clara's not interested, Sharinah had work and Lauren had an appointment. My sister refused to go with me and here I am on my desk and Ting pissed off with me.

I am sorry Ting.

A pissifying day indeed.

To think I woke up early to settle all my errands for the day so that I can erm..skive the whole day.

Fucking asshole nabei chee bye.

P/S: Totally irrelevant here...but happy 26th birthday, Fifi.

###

Blighting idiots sons of a …

Did someone say 5 goals? My god, they couldn’t even put 1 past Davies!

The ultimate hero, who chose to excel tonight, out of the entire season.

What a pity. It was programmed to be a perfect one. Especially with the favourite player coming out.

No hurray for Ole.

Anyway, it was tight. Was that Sunderland or the whole national German team? Was that Manchester United or Geylang United? It was a bloody big huge disappointment, a 90-minute frustrated agony.

And I guess out of the 72 519 people there, only them were consoled.

The Black Cats have been relegated. But they went down with pride and whatever dignity that was left. And who knows…these people will be back again in 2 seasons’ time.

Oh well.

It’s not my night morning. It’s not Rooney’s. It’s not Nistelrooy’s. And gaaaaaaaaaaah, it’s definitely not Ronaldo’s.

Signing off...the stupid girl who sat 2 arms' length away from the TV with a camera in her hand.

A thousand times goodnight, stupid suckers alike.

###

Your life's a ball

I actually went to bed at 2230hrs just now…plugged to my MP3 player. And here I am, awake at 0330hrs. It’s half time ..Manchester United versus Sunderland..and it’s goalless. Oh my goodness. And to top it off, Sunderland is having a good game.

It’s always like that, isn’t it? When you are expected to cruise through things, things fuck up. That’s why I like football. It is like life itself. Unpredictable and full of screw-ups. But when something goes right, it is beautiful. Life is a joga bonito.

Solskjaer and Heinze are back on the bench. Will we see them on the green come second half? Should Brown be taken out? Was Ronaldo effective just now? Can Nistelrooy steal some scrappy goals, the kind that he is famous for? Will Park Ji Sung’s crosses ever going to meet someone in the near goal post?

God knows.

And God knows how we can stuff 5 goals past Davies.

Second half starting.

Hold on to your horses, chevaliers.

Forgive your wayward son

Haha. Was reading Moebius' when I saw a link to someone's site. Let's see how I fare.

Memes while PMSing
My ex is dead.

Maybe I should be nicer to my parents.

I love old movies and songs.

I don't understand wasabe and those cheesy retro dance moves.

I lose money in gambling most of the time.

People say I'm not settled.

Love is a battlefield -- well that’s what Pat Benatar said.

Somewhere, someone is peeing/stuck in a lift.

I will always miss my grandma. The OTHER one.

Forever is far too long.

I never want to spend time with jerks.

I think the current US President is senile.

When I wake up in the morning, I say hello to John, Ringo, Paul and George (The Beatles, lah) who are stuck on my wall.

My past was spicy and lame at the same time.

I get annoyed when I hear loud music after midnight (clubs excluded) / I hear Michael Learns To Rock.

Parties are for social butterflies.

My dog is an imaginary Jack Russell.

My cat is an imaginary Mat Yoyo.

Kisses are the best when they start off slow.

Tomorrow never dies. (Hahaha, aye aye James Bond)

I really want to open an ice cream parlour by the beach in the Caribbean.

I have low tolerance for people who criticise country music and neighbourhood-shopping.

xxxxxxxxxxx

I didn’t do anything today. But for some strange reasons, I showered and brushed my teeth pretty early. That’s impressive considering I can be *ahem* quite a dirty girl. Haha. Parked myself in front of the telly earlier on to catch the World Music Award. It had a little tribute for Destiny's Child and well...it was so touching. Cry? Who me? No. Okay, maybe a little.

Planned to go to the tree top bridge at MacRitchie but well, it rained heavily so the plan was thwarted. Never mind, there’s always a next time. And maybe next time, Susan, Sha, Ting and Grace can go along.

Tomorrow? Hmmm…I hear Momo calling.

10 more days.

P/S: Am contemplating something dramatic with the hair. Hmmmm…

###

Do you believe in the compatibility of breath?

I do. It has to be perfect. It has to be comfortable. It has to be magical.
Found it?
Nope. Does it even exist?

Anyway I have been reduced to a bumbling idiot. Nothing I do seems right and I feel very hollow. What’s the matter with me?

Hang on in there.
Hang on in there.
Hang on in there.

Met Ting, Jay, Jo, Nani and Lauren around 2200hrs just now for a quick and short therapy session at Lido’s McDonalds. Hah. People our age go to bars, uber chic café and there we were pooling money for a large fries. Hahahaha. We will never change. But I like that. We are the lost generation of Peter Pans.

Like Eric Cantona instructed…do not grow up.

Hah.

Anyway, thanks to the inane conversations just now, I am supposed to do some research on how chickens fuck. Man. How do chickens duck? I guess same way as the ducks perhaps. But…do you know that ducks practice rapes?

Them frisky fowls.

But it’s good to know there are many species that are getting some.

Crap.

Am thinking of going to the MacRitchie Tree Top walk tomorrow. Hopefully, the weather will turn out fine. In the meantime, I think I shall go retire. Technology has ceased its purpose for me today and I am running on empty.

A thousand times goodnight, soulless concrete citizens.

West Timor 16 (final day)

Expediting Kupang

Day 16: 26th March 2006…Last day
Finally the day had dawned. Most of us didn’t sleep much (or at all)…busy packing..drinking Bintang..etc. Me? I was feeling very very sick (and sad, of course). The helpers were very nice. They cooked for us noodles at 2-3 in the morning. Our last meal from them. In the wee hours of the morning, I went around taking photos of the hostel, our doors, the pantry, the toilets…* sniff *

At about 0530hrs, we were all ready and Pak Budi, Ibu Peggy, Pak Guido, Pak Theo and Pak Lief finally came to pick us up. Ibu Peggy handed all of us a gift each (a batik sarong, a decorative sasando (musical instrument) and a scarf) and one by one, we started sniffing. I was made to give a thank you speech to the helpers. Once we all gathered, I started my opening words…and then, I couldn’t continue. I was crying already.

(translated)
“We just want to say a very big thank you to all of you. Thank you for taking care of us all *sniff* this while. *sniffsniff* We are very grateful..Marinah, please take over. I cannot take it anymore.”

Then I hid behind someone and started sobbing, Tsk tsk tsk. We were all then ushered to the cars and I was in the cruiser driven by, who else, Pak Lief…still sobbing. The helpers all stood at the side, waving and tearing…gah..couldn’t take it anymore.

At the airport, it was more dam-bursting episodes. Ibu Peggy hugged all of us goodbye and well..nuff said. Very soon…it was goodbye Kupang. Goodbye Timor.

We were off to Surabaya and then at noon, we reached Jakarta.

Hung around at Soekarno Hatta for a while and with the Jakarta sunset, we set off for home.

2030hrs and well, it was TOUCH DOWN. While some of them were happily shopping at Duty Free, I stood there trying to make sense of it all. I was home. My Timor trip was over.

We walked out and there we saw…the people from the e-rotaract club. I saw Sha, the mother and the sister. I’m home.

With quick hugs and hurried goodbyes, it was all over too soon. See you around guys. Will miss your presence tomorrow when I wake up.

Now, I have to unpack all this mess.

I’m missing Timor and the guys already.
