I walked up the platform and there was this man who cut an inviting figure waiting for the train. It was easy to pick him out from the sea of charmless people waiting to start their dreadful day, not because he's white but just because. We exchanged a 'Good morning' smile and as my eyes moved away, I saw a ring on his finger.
The train came and we the sheep flocked in.
Standing at the corner of the cabin stood another man with a melancholic frame. Tall, gangly but looking very comfortably morosed. Stealing glances saw the ring.
Ah, damn those rings.
Where have all the cowboys gone?
