Hah! This has got to be my favourite shot..walking into the sunset. Hmm, maybe it is because i cant see their faces. Heheh.

Going bodycombat soon. Am having my

It's not hard to fall really

Anyway…

You guys make me sick.

Still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Still a little hard to say what's going on

Still a little bit of your ghost your weakness
Still a little bit of your face i haven't kissed
You step a little closer each day
I can’t say what's going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love, taught me to lie
Life, taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball

Still a little bit of your song in my ear
Still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer to me
So close that I can't see what's going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love, taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannon..

Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry
So come on courage
Teach me to be shy
'Cause it's not hard to fall
And I don't wanna scare her
It's not hard to fall
And I don't wanna lose
It's not hard to grow
When you know that you just don't know - Cannonball, Damien Rice

I think Betsy and I going to the beach tomorrow after work for a quick dip.
Then I can jump like a cannonball into the sea. Hopefully it is a nice one.

But first...bodycombat tonight.

Wa-paaaah!

I'm cheap.

My newly-wed cousin came just now with his wife, my auntie and his mother-in-law. THe mother-in-law asked my dad when would he get a son-in-law. I tried to ignore her question and continued surfing...I didnt want to give a finger to an old stranger you see. Then the mother-in-law kept asking my mom if I was her first-born. It seemed she couldnt believe I was the eldest.

Old lady...what's your problem?

Anyway... I am so broke that I cant afford a light bulb. I have been showering in the dark for the past 3 nights. Not really in the dark...i burnt 2 vanilla scented candles and i have rose essential oil burning in that little girl's room. So yeah...i've been bathing in the soft light of candles. I dont dare tell my dad about the light bulb. The thing is...my budget is all planned out and I cant squeeze a light bulb in it.

Can someone give me a light bulb? Or do I have to shower in the vanilla-scented toilet till payday? While you are it, can you give me a bottle of shower foam too? I am down to my last bottle of BodyShop foam, thanks to my sis, who is now a regular visitor to my little sanctuary. I am even contemplating of nicking some shower foam from the gym. Yes, I'm that cheap.

SAHARA was surprisingly entertaining ya'll (darent say it's good) . I thought it would be one of those run-of-the-mill...middle-of-the-road kind of adventure flicks but i was wrong. The movie was actually exciting. Matthew McConoughey and Steve Zahn were great. Penelope? A wall flower as expected.

Overall not bad. I give it a 6.5/10. I have seen worst shows.

I cant believe i am actually staying up for the match between Liverpool and Juventus. I support neither HOWEVER i prefer the Koppers to win..just to spite the raucous Italian fans.

Ok. I need to rest my weary head.

Catch you later. A thousand times goodnight, airheads.

Yippee peanut butter...

PHEW!!!!!!

I managed to e-mail the radio scripts to MediaCorp on time.

That didn't mean they were great though. I planned to do the script after the Sheila On 7 concert on telly last night. So at 2330hrs I got my pen and paper ready and went to my bedroom where I got distracted by my sister’s comic books. It’s FOXTROT, mah!

So I read…and as expected, I fell asleep inches away from the bathroom. When I woke up it was already 0530hrs. FUCKING BUGGER! I continued sleeping. I haven't got anything and the deadline was noon.

I got up at 0730hrs and was contemplating whether should I go to work. Eventually, I took a half day time off… For the next hour, I thought..and thought..and came up with 2 radio commercials.

1. One is about a group of ppl climbing Mt Everest. They are already high up the mountain..with howling wind, pelting snow and all. Then one of them decides to stop for a sandwich break (for the umpteenth time) to the annoyance of others. He describes the YIPPEE peanut butter sandwich he has been eating…telling them not only it makes him skip (a lame dig at SKIPPY peanut butter), it makes him feel like flying. Then suddenly the rocks under him crumble and he flies down from the mountain. He shouts "Yippeeee".

Yippee peanut butter. It's more than a skip. It's a leap for mankind.

Never mind.

2. A pregnant wife wakes up at 3 in the morning asking for Yippee peanut butter which has cinnamon flavour, lemon, chock-full of fudge chunks and peanut butter with seaweed among other flavours. Hubby grumbles and staggers to the kitchen to appease the wife. In the kitchen he bitterly spreads the peanut butter..and imitates his wife's whiny voice. Then the smell hits him and he takes a bite of the sandwich and eventually finishing it. The wife comes in and catches her hubby eating her sandwich. The butter knife falls.

Yippee peanut butter..so different, so good.

.....

Okay so by 0830hrs I was done…fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later. Mind you. I hadn’t got all these junk on Microsoft word yet.

1030hrs. I panicked and rushed to the computer. Microsoft Office got cocked up and I had to start Word several times..i finished typing at 1130hrs. 30minutes should be more than enough for me to e-mail the scripts to them right? No!

A sudden corny idea hit me and I decided to just include it for that cheesy humour. Took me 27 minutes to type it out and at 1200 sharp I sent all 3.

3. Elvis Presley is having a concert and at the end, the crowd roars and applauds. He goes backstage where his assistant, who calls him Mr Elvis, comes a-running with Elvis' favourite snack of deep fried peanut butter sandwich (I didn't mention that but it's known that that is Elvis' staple food). Elvis asks several times if the sandwich is cinnamon flavoured, lemon, fudge chunks or peanut butter with seaweed. The assistant replies meekly and apologetically (he is the KING after all) that is not Yippee peanut butter. Elvis gets angry and asks the assistant to get him Yippee peanut butter. The assistant then asks if he wants the yippee peanut butter sandwich fried. “Hell no! Yippee is as good as it is!”

Yippee peanut butter..Flavours fit for a king.

End with Elvis saying “Thank you very much.”

WHaT? I cant help it! I have been listening to too much dusty old music.

Awrite awrite..

Gonna watch SAHARA tonight. I am down to my last few bucks now...but well, this is free.

Sucker.

By myself..for myself

I have a new computer at work…with a 17inch flat screen Acer. Wonderful indeed!

Wait. Let me put on that Damien Rice’s CD.

DANCER

You're not only strong, but you have amazing
balance. You handle things by using your brain
and using your strength for defense.

What career is for you? (lots of different results and PICS)
brought to you by
Quizilla

EXACTLY!

I remember an issue which I had buried a gazillion months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds ago. I cannot help but feel nostalgic and a bit hurt. It counted for a lot of things. Valuable things, in fact. But I guess, it doesn’t matter anymore.

A part of me is floating there. The other part is shackled to the ground here.

I guess...I really cannot feel that way again and I definitely cannot go there again. Even if I want to..just for that one last time..I cannot. So move along, dear thoughts. I cannot entertain you anymore for I no longer have the strength and the heart. The memories of it all will linger but I guess, they will never take me there. To where you are.

We might kiss when we are alone
When nobody's watching
We might take it home
We might make out when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
It's just that it's delicate

So why do you fill my sorrows
With the words you've borrowed
From the only place you've known
And why do you sing Hallelujah
If it means nothing to you
Why do you sing with me at all?

We might live like never before
When there's nothing to give
Well how can we ask for more
We might make love in some sacred place
The look on your face is delicate

So why do you fill my sorrows
With the words you've borrowed
From the only place you've known
And why do you sing Hallelujah
If it means nothing to you
Why do you sing with me at all? - Delicate, Damien Rice

Havent come up with any idea for the radio script.

Mona…don’t come this far only to screw it up.

The Blower's Daughter

What have I been missing? Argh! I cant believe I passed this Dubliner.

Damien Rice made me cry. Blower's Daughter is the kind of song I have been longing for. My insides swell with emancipation and I really really really long for the country.

Meadows..wild flowers..brooks..creeks..orchards..cows..horses..sheeps..prairies..mountains..valleys..waterfalls...dusty trails...

I am confused. Why is the calling of the countryside so strong? Am I in need of my own Gilbert Blythe? I have been waiting for him since I was 10.

Gilbert, where are you?

And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is (he has)
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky

I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

And so it is (he has)
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is (he has)
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial

I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...my mind...
'Til I find somebody new –
Blower’s Daughter, Damien Rice

Lonely..I am Miss Lonely

The Sanka coffee (sachet) looks like a pack of condom. Mentioning condom, I have 2 in my purse now...thanks to Liah who passed them to me. I had 3 but I gave one to Noreen. I have no idea what I am going to do with them though.

I lied. I can do many things with them.

Dragged my ass down to the gym yesterday. Wanted to do yoga but well, couldnt make it in the end so i went for the hip hop class. Had some problems catching up at first. It was too fast and i wasnt at a really good spot. Yeah, excuses! Many of the people there were aunties..I reckon they must be dancers during their heyday because they looked so lithe and nimble. I said "lithe"..I didnt say they were ghetto-cool. So, HAH! Even though they got the steps and coordinations right, unfortunately for street credibility, it was zero.

And the dance instructor looked like a chinese version of gay Usher. We danced to Usher's Caught Up. Apt indeed! Maybe Chuck did something to his face just to look like that cool monkey.

After huffing and puffing and with legs and arms everywhere, i hit the bikes, treadmill and the stupid rowing machine. Legs were as soft as a pudding towards the end. But it was all good. After that, my legs brought me to Paragon basement and my itchy fingers paid for BRAVISSIMO (hope the spelling is right)'s milkshake. 97% fat-free (yeah whatever!) and it was YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMY!

My mouth is watering.

Reached MOE this morning at 0910hrs and by 0915, I was done. Sick right? It took me almost an hour to go there and in 5 minutes it was all over. Was contemplating what to do (I should go back to office but what the hell) when i saw Jason on the bridge. Yeah boy..Ah Beng hair! But neater now, lah. Anyway I felt like having breakfast..bus #200 came and i went Holland V's Delifrance. Stayed there till 1000hrs as I wanted to beat the $1 surcharge. $1 surcharge compared with $5 breakfast...bo hwa, i know. But humans think in weird ways.

Ting, my financial minder, I know how you remind me not to take cabs...but I have no choice because i need the receipt as proof of my MOE trips.

Just f.y.i. hehehe.

Akon's Mr Lonely song has been the rage with some friends..thanks to the irritatingly catchy speed-up vocals (Chipmunks!) at the background. It is not really a novelty to me because I have heard the original a million times when I was at Rediffusion. I heard it first when I was a teenager. Carlton Banks (the geek on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) sang it moronically on one of the episodes and it got my family laughing our asses off. Then I heard the original version...it was sad and well, i wasnt laughing anymore.

And i think it should be the perfect anthem for NSF...or those fighters at war-torn places.

Lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely
I have nobody for my own
I am so lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely
Wish I had someone to call on the phone

Now I'm a soldier, a lonely soldier
Away from home through no wish of my own
That's why I'm lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely
I wish that I could go back home

Letters, never a letter
I get no letters in the mail
I've been forgotten, yes, forgotten
Oh how I wonder, how is it I failed

Now I'm a soldier, a lonely soldier
Away from home through no wish of my own
That's why I'm lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely
I wish that I could go back home – Mr Lonely, Bobby Vinton

The falsetto voice was kind of scary.

Not exactly scary as the stupid Natre of Shutter kind of way.

Na bei. My sentiments exactly.

my weekend in a flurry..

A breakdown in the transmission made me miss 2 goals..one from Real Madrid and the other from Barcelona. I am so fucking pissed! WARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!

Jadi Incredible Hulk.

And mentioning soccer, i wasted about 70 minutes of my life last night watching Norwich kick Man U in the ass twice. Yes indeed I had 2 pissed nights. Chee bye!

Oh..the Midget Owen is having a good game at the moment.

Your Rising Sign is Aquarius

You are an interesting mix of introspective and outlandish.
Waving your freak flag high, you really do things your own way.

While you may seem distant, you care very deeply for humanity.
You just have no tolerance for fools, slackers, or dullards.

And while you're fairly misanthropic, many are drawn to you.
Innovative and clever, people look to you for new ideas and trends.

Time to do some recapping...

The interview on Friday went alright. i think, due to work hazard, i felt like i was the one interviewing my two interviewers. i was seated at the edge of my seat and poised in a manner of being in control...fuck, i felt like that Jung-lady on AM Singapore!

just checked my e-mail just now and i had an assignment sent to me from MediaCorp. They sent me this creative brief and wanted me to come up with a radio scrip...by this Wednesday noon. DAMMIT! i should have checked my mails on Saturday!!!!!!

Oh well.

Actually, now if you were to ask if being a radio producer is what i really wanted to be...man. i dont know. but then again, i cannot tell you what i want to do now. I just want to bum my life out. I am such a rotten lazy ass... but i accept that. Heh.

Ok ok will send my applications to that 8Days writing job TOMORROW.

Friday night saw me dancing my butt off at ChinaBlack with Sharinah. Lauren supposedly wanted to join us but that woman...oh well..didnt meet us in the end because she fell asleep. Anyway, a lone figure caught my eye that night...maybe not in a really good way, lah. THere is this chinese dude who dressed very ghetto-ish and well, he looked like Jay Chou! I swear he made a very very strong resemblance. I was so fascinated by this wannabe. It was quite funny to see him move.

Pop it like it's hot!

Remember i mentioned something about spending time with my closet this Friday night?

Arh bahumbug!

I am going clubbing.

Pop it like it's hot! Pop like it's hot!

But first...all the best for my interview. *rubs palms together*

Later then.

Someday ooh someday

It's 0630hrs and here I am..awake and showered. Fell asleep at 2300hrs last night on the cold floor...unwashed. Then woke up 6 hours later. I guess brain was already buzzing with activities.

I even had breakfast already!

Samurai

You are a Samurai.
You are full of honour and value respect. You are not really the stereotypical hero, but you do fight for good. Just in your own way. For you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evilperson, if it is for justice and peace. You also don't belive in mourning all the time andthink that once you've hit a bad stage in life you just have to get up again.

It's pointless to concentrate on emotional pain and better to just get on with everything. You also are a down to earth type of person and think before you act. Impulsive people may annoy you somewhat.

I need to fill in my job application form for the interview later. Supposed to do last night but as you know...i had to fall asleep. So wish me luck for the interview.

But first i need a pick-me-up and this song is PERFECT!

You were so blind to let me go
You had it all but didn't know
No one you'll ever find will be
Closer to all your dreams than me
Believing the grass would be greener
You told yourself "I just don't need her now"
But I know you'll soon discover
You're never satisfied with any other

Someday Oo Someday
One you gave away will be the only one you're wishing for
Someday hey hey
Boy you're gonna pay
'Cause baby I'm the one who's keeping score

You'll change your mind and call my name
Soon as you find they're all the same
And when you find yourself alone
Don't come back crying
You should have known
Believe me I'm not pretending
It's not hard to predict
This ending now
'Cause I know you'll soon discover
You're needing me in spite of all the others

Someday Oo Someday
One you gave away will be the only one you're wishing for
Someday hey hey
Boy you're gonna pay
'Cause baby I'm the one who's keeping score

Maybe now you just can't conceive
That there'll ever come a time when you're cold and lonely
Baby, how could you ever believe
That another could replace me
The one and only
But when your down in your time of need
And you're thinking that you
Might be coming back to own me
Just think again 'cause I won't need your love anymore!

Someday Oo Someday
One you gave away will be the only one you're wishing for
Someday hey hey
Boy you're gonna pay 'cause baby I'm the one who's keeping score - Someday, Mariah Carey

Have a good day peeps!

Late at night like a little child
Wandering around alone in my new friend's home
On my tippy toes
So that he won't know
I still cry baby
Over you and me

I am on a Mariah high and I dont want it to stop. Thanks to Ismail..I am listening to THE REMIXES and #1's! The first album has one my favs (Crybaby) and the latter, well...let's see ..hmm..almost everything! True..her songs are all about love (in, out and all about) and there is not much substance (haha!) but hey, it is pop at its best. So Mail, yeah...i may need to borrow all her albums.

If only the #1's have Make It Happen, Can't Take That Away, Bringing On The Heartbreak and Crybaby..It will be perfect.

Argh! My mouth stinks of the cheesy instant pasta-in-a cup. But it is yummy..just a little too cheesy. But some do like it that way, dont they?

My favourite cuisine – Italian. Hence, the carbo...

I am planning for a sedate Friday evening plan with my closet, radio and cds. My room needs a clearance session and my toilet...man, major work! Maybe I will go for supper at S11 after that with my brother and sister and have some cheese prata. Again I am talking about food!

Gluttony...Glutton...Glut.

Must guys paying for everything? I dont know, man. I am not a feminist where I fight for equality to the very bone. Neither am I a clingy starfish, expecting to be fed, clothed and sexed. You have to ask other guys because they are the ones who will spoil and improve the market. Bullish or bearish? Cash cow or dead dog?

Personally, of course it is nice for a guy to pay or at least, offers to pay. I dont mean like paying for everything and anything...but a meal or a movie at least? Of course some girls are not comfortable with someone paying for them but once in a while i am sure these rare species will appreciate the gesture too.

What if the guy has not much cash to spare? Well, just be truthful about it and sound apologetic. Surely, the girls will understand and appreciate your honesty. Unless you experience the rare species of the uber-materialistic kind, most girls dont mind paying for their own supper. But, stop short at asking her to pay for you. Unless of course it is her treat or as a form of favour. Otherwise, her paying for you is not cool.

Worst still, you splurge on a really expensive cd after that...right under her nose. Not cool.

When I wish upon a star...

The Sonnet
Characteristics: Deliberate, Gentle, Love, Dreamer

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?
Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

ALWAYS AVOID: The 5-Night Stand, The False Messiah, The Hornivore, The Last Man on Earth
CONSIDER: The Loverboy

http://www.okcupid.com/oktest

Deliberate =makes decisions carefully and is aware of the consequences
Gentle = kind, considerate and less selfish than average
Love = subject’s primary motivation
Dreamer = evolving, possessing undiscovered potential, unjaded, relatively innocent

Aye me.

I woke up with a terrible stomach cramp this morning. As i was rolling in pain, it was almost 0800hrs and I couldnt make it to work definitely. Then i rolled on my specs ...lucky they werent smashed. Apparently last night at about 0130hrs, i immediately went to bed after being bored online.

Not really bored...i was extremely tired. I am having my period and yoga last night was quite a task. Deepak had some new spine strengthening techniques and well, my back did feel kind of sore. It doesnt help that i am menarche-ing. So..i took an urgent half-day leave.

I realise i am having a hard time staying up these couple of weeks. I check others’ blogs and my mails and when i am done, i am almost dozing off. No energy to do my job applications and blog. Why dont i come online earlier? Well...dinner..shower..tv..you get the point.

Another reason for my early slumber: Milk.Been drinking milk every night. It does make me sleepy.

Hehehe..That brought me to this:

Tsk tsk tsk..frisky.

Heh!

It is going to rain. In fact, it rains everyday now. Perfect weather for a bit of romance, dont you think? Or, am I destined not to know?

I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a dream
To follow what it means

And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I wish on all the people who really dream
And I'm wishing on tomorrow, praying it'll comes
And I'm wishing on all the lovin' we've ever done
I never thought I'd see
A time when you would be
So far away from home
So far away from me

Just think of all the moments that we'd spent
I just can't let you go, for me you were meant
That in the game of love you reap what you sow

I feel it's time we should make up, baby
I feel it's time for us to get back together
And make the best of things, oh, baby
When we're together, whether or never

I'm wishing on a star
To follow where you are
I'm wishing on a dream
To follow what it means
And I wish on all the rainbows that I see
I wish on all the people we've ever been
And I'm hopin' on all the days to come and days to go
And I'm hopin' on days of lovin' you so – Wishing On A Star, Rose Royce

Guess for now, I have to be contented sipping my hot cocoa and munching some marshmallows. Where's my LoverBoy?

*hick*

I have a feeling that i will be spending my last few pounds on The Sun. Ting, when you are out at work, I will play karung guni with your neighbours.

Anyway...it is photo time. Taken on that MacRitchie hike day..cant remember the date tho.

Turn back? You must be kidding!

Nani, Ismail and Jason...were afraid that Mona was gonna jump off the bridge.

Fuck..I have undeniably the ugliest mouth/lips ever.

Argh!

Yup. Maybe that is the word..Intimidating. And I have 2 perfect candidates for my fellow angels..my 2 great girlfriends. First, I need to teach them how to dance first.

I caught THE PACIFIER last night and it was aiight. It is a Disney productions so the movie is slightly cheesy/cliche with a happy ending and stuff. However, I think i imust be growing desperate or something. Throughout the show, I actually found Vin Diesel to be darn cute. Holy cow! WTF, right? Maybe it is the stuff he did in the show. It couldnt be his man-boobs, what...

Hectic morning I had. Cant wait for yoga class tonight. I brought my mat with me and i put it in the British India yoga bag Liah gave me.

Ismail: Mona’s dad looks like her. They both have the non-chalant look

Uh huh.

Sometimes I wonder..why am I a friend to my friends. Sometimes I have this idea that they dont know me. Maybe it is because i dont want them to. So i guess it is my fault, huh? Then, oh why then, are they still my friends? If I am pathetic, is it because they are equally pathetic too?

Sometimes I wonder...[I know it is hard but assuming I have one] why am I a lover to my lover? Will he know what is my favourite colour, my favourite flower, my favourite past time, my favourite food, my favourite movie? Will he know what kind of political party i support? Will he notice which way I turn when I sleep? Notice which shoe will i put on first – the left or the right one?

I am always afraid that after all those great times together, it will have to come to an end when either one of us says "You dont know me."

You give your hand to me
And then you say hello
I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don't know me
Oh you don't know the one
That thinks of you at night
Who longs to kiss your lips
And yearns to squeeze you tight
No I'm just a friend
That's all I've ever been
You just don't know me

I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me
And then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away
Beside the lucky guy
You'll never, never know
The one who loves you so
You just don't know me

I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too

You'll never, ever know
Mmmm, cause you just don't know me - You Don’t Know Me, Jerry Vale

I have one vivid image which keeps on recurring day and night, winter, spring, summer or fall. Maybe it has something to do with a past event or something I am subconsciously unaware of. Can someone please tell me why do I have a picture of someone (sometimes it is me and sometimes it is a passing stranger) being knocked down by a car on a very busy road? Sometimes, when the vision springs up, I can hear car horns blaring out of nowhere and a crowd forming. Then, a screeching halt follows and eventually the distant sounds of ambulance sirens can be heard. I will snap out of it after that.

I swear I didnt knock down anyone before. I dont think it was because of accidents I had seen. I saw an accident first hand in 2003. I have been having this since forever.

I am girl, interrupted.

Will you be mine?

Something’s up with my nose. It is dry and is irritating the hell out of me.

It was raining the shit out of Monday this morning. I was at MOE so I was pretty much dry. Meeting ended at 1100hrs and i hopped down Tanjong Pagar to pay my insurance and then hopped to Suntec for lunch. That place is my #1 shopping place just because it has Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and La Senza in a straight line. And if you walk further down, there is the ADIDAS concept store. Woohoo! Upstairs, there is Tower Records and beside it, there is Why Pay More. Woohoo woohoo! There is a movie cineplex, Watson’s and there is karaoke. Food? Plenty! Desserts?? Gelare, Yami Yoghurt..NYDC..many!

Not i didnt shop. For the simple reason that I shouldnt.

26 more days to LONDON!

On Sunday, at my cousin’s wedding, the hired music ppl made a honest boo-boo. Of all the songs they played, they had to play Ayahku Kahwin Lagi (My Dad Marries Again) (and yes, there is such a title). It was such an awkward and funny (to my bro, dad and i) situation. You see, my cousin's parents are recently divorced (a very bitter affair, i must say) and his dad has remarried again. When the song was played, my cousin was there entertaining his colleagues. I looked at him and it was obvious that he tried to be nonchalant about it. My dad was standing across the hall way and he flashed a sheepish smile. It was so sadly hilarious. My brother who was standing beside me was already clutching his round tummy. Then my dad went over to the music people asking them to change song. Then the music people...without any segue or fading out..just cut the song awkwardly and played a cheery number. I had to walk away to laugh.

Nothing much happened other than the fact that Marlinah and i were clinging onto each other cause we were so out of place. Suhana's friends were there as helpers so we were out of job. It could have been a good thing if there werent many old neneks asking us when are we getting married (not to each other lar, doink!)

Nenek 1: Ni anak Wahab kan?
Nenek 2: Yang ni kan anak Wak Dol
Nenek 1: Bila korang nak kahwin?

Hai...Bila korang nak mati? Read: When are you going to die?

But the best comments came from Cik Jun (i had no idea hoodafark she was). She was talking to me mom when i came and passed something to her (mom). Ok i translate...

Cik Jun: This is your daughter? Wah so big already!
Mother: Of courselah...you cant be growing smaller right?
Cik Jun: Sec what?
Mona: Sec what??? Do I look 16? (in my heart: woohoo!)
Mother: Har? She is 25 and working already!
Cik Jun: So fast? Isnt she your youngest daughter?
Mother: No, this is my eldest.
Cik Jun: Oooooh Mona! Pretty ah...

And from a stranger, Cik Jun became my favourite relative in a matter of minutes.

Marlinah sent me home in a cab before she headed home herself at Toa Payoh. I ran home, took out my black dress and the shawl, touched up my make up, drank a cup of milk and dumped the idea of wearing stilletos for a slightly shorter heels. My hair was giving me some headache too – tie, let down, ponytail, bun?? My room was in a total mess when i left – make up was everywhere, clothes were strewn on my bed, accessories were scattered on my dressing table. It was hurricane-swept.

Jumped down the stairs in my heels, black dress, dangling earrings and beaded blue hand bag to the void deck. It began to drizzle as i was waiting for a cab. Thank God the rain stopped when I reached Chevrons at Jurong, $11.40 less later. There at the lobby, i saw the boyfriends and the girlfriends cuddling to one another. Na fucking bei.

At 1830hrs, we went to the poolside. Ah Kiong and Liting came out, looking gorgeous in their cream coloured bridal costumes, with the setting West-side sun as their backdrop. There, they both had their ROM ceremony by the pool. I thought they would have it earlier at ROM itself but Kiong wanted to do it on the same day. VERY GOOD MOVE!

The minister made them say vows which were so touching. In fact, for the whole wedding, the short ceremony was to me, the most heartfelt. Of course after they kiss, we threatened to throw Kiong inside the pool. Yes, we have a problem.

At 1930hrs, guests were ushered into the ballroom. I was seated in a table of lovers. Wait, both tables were lovers' corner. I sat with Shadiq (Ash, who is converting soon..wow), Aidil (nameless fiancee), Din (Idah) and Fifi (Norizan). The other table had Izwandy (Norizan), Ardi (Atiqah) and Kiong's 2 malay poly pals and their partners. Occasionally Thomas, my baby stand-in lover, would come over.

Kiong and Liting had the typical cheesy photo slides and stuff. Of all the shots, i liked the one where they showed Kiong in his primary one class photo. It zoomed in on his super nerdy face..zoomed out..and then zoomed in again..this time on liting's super nerdy face, Yes, they knew each other since primary school.

Food was good and after I got past the hang-up of having to sit with couples, i kind of enjoyed myself. To think i actually wanted to give kiong's wedding a miss simply because i didnt want to be distressed by others' couplehood! Tsk tsk! Of course i had to take food for myself when other girls had their boyfriends (yes..my guy friends are really really sweet and nice) giving them the best parts and shelling their prawns. But Fifi and Norizan were sweet. He put food on her plate and she put food on mine. A bit of a twisted sight but sweet nevertheless.

Then while eating, some smart aleck wanted to take a picture of each couple. Then when it came to me, i almost wanted to give the photographer (it is from the table but I shall not name that asshole) the finger but Rohaidah and Norizan who were sitting on my sides quickly posed with me. Oh well.

Everything ended at 2300hrs and i sleepily walked out of the ballroom before being stopped by the drunk Junxian who wanted to kiss me on the lips. Sod off! Was kind of saved by Kiong's father. Of all my friends' fathers, kiong's dad must be my most favourite one. And last night, he said i had the most beautiful eyes in the ballroom. Heh..and he told me to just wait for somebody to come into my life and not be sad about it. "You will one day feel the electric," he said. Thank you, Uncle.

Din and Fifi were outside when they saw Kiong's dad smoking. He told them that it was the happiest day of his life. He was so so happy that he felt like crying. I could tell he was happy. Hell, we all could. He made the loudest and most boisterous yum seng on the stage.

I went to Kiong and then he hugged me. It was really a sincere embrace and I could feel it. It made me quite sad to see him leave for Arizona come August. I hugged Liting and wanted to verbally wish her all the best, have a blissful marriage and stuff..but those words couldnt come up. I settled for "I will see you in Arizona instead." Big mouth.

So next year, I am going to New York AND Arizona.

Martina drove me home. She was another single girl who felt out of place. Worst still, she only knew a few people there. I hung out with her earlier but couldnt do that in the ballroom cause we were seated quite a distance away. Oh well.

Remember last night i said i had enough of weddings for the year? I just remembered. Ardi is getting married this Christmas.

Bugger.

My weekend..crazy as always

Guy: So what do you think of our 1st date?
Girl: I was hungry. You didnt ask me if I wanted dinner.
Guy: WEre you hungry?
Girl: I didnt have my lunch! You should have the courtesy to ask if I wanted to have dinner instead of drinking coffee!
Guy: [ruffled] You should understand..I only have $5 to last for the next week.
Girl: How can you ask me out when you have no money?
Guy: I didnt know you will be so materialistic!
Girl: I am NOT materialistic!
Guy: You mean you wouldnt go out with me if I told you I had no money?
Girl: Not when you have only $5!

Obviously, there was no second date.

That was a real situation. Not mine, though. Thank God for that. Was it totally the girl's fault? Is there anyone in the wrong here? Maybe the girl should have made her dinner desire clear. Maybe the guy could use his last $5 to pay for the girl's coffee, at least. Or is the girl expecting too much? Tell me cause I really want to know!

Aye me.

I am tired..bloated..and..a bit sad. Been wanting to blog the past few nights..somehow i couldnt keep awake and i banged my sleepy head on the keyboard everytime. i havent even sent the Al Jazeera applications...Tak guna betul aku!

didnt go catch my movie on Friday. Had dinner with lauren, mail and nani on Friday @ Far East Plaza. YEah and then ISmail's AYE fiasco had to happen.Hahaha.. Thanks for the NYDC treat man.

Saturday was a mad rush. Went NPCC and I didnt wake up late this time. Meiling was late instead. Drilled in the rain and shouted till my voice turned dry and coarse. Went home, changed and straight I met up with clara, weiling and noreen and had high tea at Cafe Vienna. Got home at 2330hrs to a lousy Man U match and news of ailing Pope john paul. was home alone. everybody else was at Tampines..preparing for me cousin's wedding. i staggered to bed.

Sunday morning i went to my cousin's place. He was getting married. At 1600hrs, I packed and headed home. Need to attend Ah Kiong's wedding at 1800hrs at Chevrons in Jurong! $#%#^!

Everybody was in pairs! My kakis - Din, Fifi, Shadiq, Aidil, Ardi and Izwandy- all brought their other halves and somehow, i was feeling sick in the stomach.

In short, I have enough of weddings for the year. 2 weddings in a day were a killer. Physically, financially and mentally. With so many couples around me...i feel so unwanted.

Will relate blow by blow account tmrw. Need to sleep. So, a thousand times good night, oh unattached ones.

I love men

You scored as Brad Pitt. You were meant to make love with Brad Pitt.

What gorgeous man are you meant to make love with?

Right..I have been told.

My brother told me last night that he had taken this plan with POSB where they keep his money every month ($200) in fixed deposit for 15 years. In return, he will get some Ks after a few years as incentives. By the time he is 39 he will have more than $36K. Good for you. Me? I take each day at a time. No fault of others but mine.

You scored as Orange Triangle. You have a truly adventurous soul. You heart longs to experience everything the world has to offer. Be aware of your level of graciousness, and appreciate all the little things people do for you.

yeah.. I will keep a lookout on overseas expeditions. Rock climbing, mountaineering, paragliding. But i think we should start small. Try roller-coaster for instance. Or swimming. Or in-line skating. How about losing more weight, mona?

Eh Dear (weird, it is like i am addressing a boyfriend or something), i will bring you to this pathetic (but cool nevertheless) waterfall in Tioman. Not many people. Heck. There is nobody there. Then i take you jetty jumping.

Yeah..my engine needs a little revving up.

It is Friday. Meeting the gurlies tomorrow for a high tea session at Royal Plaza on Scott (i think)...courtesy of weiling and clara. Then I can watch my Man U at night. It has been quite a while.

Restless tonight
Cause I wasted the light
Between both these times
I drew a really thin line
It's nothing I planned
And not that I can
But you should be mine
Across that line

If I traded it all
If I gave it all away for one thing
Just for one thing
If I sorted it out
If I knew all about this one thing
Wouldn't that be something

I promise I might
Not walk on by
Maybe next time
But not this time

Even though I know
I don't wanna know
Yeah I guess I know
I just hate how it sounds

If I traded it all
If I gave it all away for one thing
Just for one thing
If I sorted it out
If I knew all about this one thing
Wouldn't that be something

Have I said that I love Carmine Gotti? Something about the Gotti brothers that make them so hot. No, it is not their age. I love Growing Up Gotti. Obviously. Oh, and Miss Match too.

I love my tv and cable.

Eh that starving woman..Terri Schiavo (or something) has died. It that good...or bad?

My life as it is

You Are An Elm Tree

You are easygoing and a pleasure to be around.
Good looking, you have a pleasant shape and tasteful clothes.
You demand little in others, but you tend not to forgive their mistakes.
Dominant, you like to lead and enjoy making decisions for others.
Overall, you are cheerful, honest, noble, generous, and funny.

What is Your Celtic Horoscope?

Pleasant shape? Yeah..round IS a shape.

Lauren..congratulations on being another California gym sucker. Looking forward to more bodycombat lessons. I shall bring you to bodypump classes soon. You'll go in, I'll wait outside. Heheh...

HASH(0x8d9a6b0)
Music is your salvation. Listening to songs is your
way to escape reality. You have an amazing
character but you don't know how to show it,
actually you don't care if people know this or
not. You look for artists who can say how you
feel. You appreciate the beauty you see in the
little things in life.~~Just me and my obsession~~

What's your way to escape reality? What's your salvation?

Realised that movie tickets will be jacked up come Labour Day. APt indeed. you labour your ass off just to catch some movies. But dammit...I will watch them still. rather be without new clothes than not being able to watc....nah. Let's just stop at "I will watch them still."

Ion Danker is officially not going with me to London due to some career strategies. Fine by me. Like Mail..I need some "me" time. All 30 hours of it - 15 hrs to go, 15hrs to return. Maybe I can get to ahem..flirt..without some towering shadow behind me. Oh, the possibility.

Right.

My mother hinted for the umpteenth time (guess it is not a hint anymore) about giving my auntie money for my cousin's wedding..no matter how little. yeah i know lah!!!!!! damn other ppl getting married and i have to fork out money! ok ok that was just an inane remark. ignore that. as relatives and family, we must always help one another in some ways. But damn..April is tight. With the impending watch for my dad's birthday and my trip...man. if i dont go to the wedding, will my money be safe in my pocket?

Bloody enough mona! You are giving at least $20 and even so, you should be ashamed of yourself.

My..my..

Talking about marriage...Am I destined to live my life alone? I have only been "close" to one guy and i dont even know if that was the right move. Though intimacy is comforting, I just wonder, will I be able to do the same thing with another guy? How far will I go this time? But then...i shouldnt think so far because there is not even a shadow to fantasise about now.

Yes, girls are weird. That is why we are so endearing.

Whatever it is, I had some bad experiences. I am not sure if I want to do it again.

Take a minute girl come sit down
And tell us what's been happening
In your face I can see the pain
Don't you try to convince us that you're happy
We've seen this all before
But he's taking advantage of your passion
Because we've come too far
For you to feel alone
You don't let him walk all over your heart I'm telling you

Girl, I can tell you been crying
And you needing someone to talk to
Girl, I can tell he's been lying
And pretending that he's faithful and he loves you
Girl, you don't have to be hiding
Don't you be ashamed to say he hurt you
I'm your girl, you're my girl, we're your girls
Want you to know that we love you

See what you all don't know about him
Is I can't let him go because he needs me
It ain't really him it's stress from the job
And I ain't making it easy
I know you see him bugging on me sometimes
But I know he be tired he don't mean it
It gets hard sometimes
But I need my man I don't think ya'll understand
I'm telling you

Girl, I can tell you been crying
And you needing someone to talk to
Girl, I can tell he's been lying
And pretending that he's faithful and he loves you
Girl, you don't have to be hiding
Don't you be ashamed to say he hurt you
I'm your girl, you're my girl, we're your girls
Want you to know that we love you

Girl, take a good look at yourself
He got you going through hell
We ain't never seen you down like this
What you mean you don't need us to help
We known each other too well

Girl, I can tell you been crying
And you needing someone to talk to
Girl, I can tell he's been lying
And pretending that he’s faithful and he loves you
Girl, you don’t have to be hiding
Don't you be ashamed to say he hurt you
I'm your girl, you're my girl, we're your girls
Want you to know that we love you - Girl, Destiny's Child

Well..

That's for those times when my girls came calling and crying over the phone. And that was for the time I broke down over a worthless piece of shit whom I truly love so dear. He was the poison. He was the remedy. He was, in his own charming ways, my elixir.

Ok. Dont remind me. Mona..he is a big bastard and you know it.

Why did i even start on this in the first place? Sleep. A thousand times good night, past loves.
