Casino-no

I am not pro-casino like Ting. But yeah..like a minister said, we cannot stop selling condom just because one religion opposes to pre-marital sex. But then again, don’t all religions oppose to premarital sex? However Big Brother can just have one kah-see-no, right? Singapore is such a small dot..we don’t need 2 kar-si-nohs. If you win the top jackpot prize in Marina Bay, your manic screams of joy CAN be heard in Sentosa.

Chin Han’s entry got me thinking a bit ( just a little..dont want to hurt my brain). What good is democracy if the voices of the public go unheard? If it is democracy, it means majority rules. Surely, there are more conservative people in Singapore. Add religious views to that. They say that we cannot just listen to one religion going against it. But we have quite a number of different religions here..which one approves of gambling?

They should put talks and words of democracy and liberalism aside and focus on the main desire – making money. It is brutal and politically-incorrect BUT it is not hypocritical.

“Dear Singaporeans,

We want not 1, but 2 casinos because we want:

* Tourists to spend their money here and not in Genting, Macau, Burswood

* More jobs for more people and then we will receive more income tax

* Big bosses to lose their money, go bankrupt, have no money to pay their poor employees and then we step in and be good Samaritans

* Indonesia to be more envious of us

* To attract terrorists into gambling, instead of bombing us, so that we can have their money

* To make more money for charity so that the MediaCorp people can stop performing for free on the NKF Charity Award Shows and instead act their asses off so that they can pay income tax

* Future Singapore Idol winners to win mega prizes equivalent to their American counterparts

* To promote more money-making businesses and franchises with high rental NEAR the casino – pawnshops, cetis or moneylenders, moneychangers, brothels, 7-11s, Hotel 81s, S-11, Boon Tong Kees, Starbucks, Old Chang Kees, etc

* To create more jobs for student interns (business, finance, PR, management, IT, engineering, advertising, marketing, etc students) to do their training programmes because they are way way way way cheaper and less jaded.

Love,
Big Brother "
